Ballets of Pjotr Iljitsch Tchaikovsky in Neumeier's version
Pollertová, Adéla ; Kazárová, Helena (advisor) ; Gremlicová, Dorota (referee)
Bachellor thesis ?Ballet of Pjotr Iljitch Tchaikovsky in Neumeier?s version? gives overview on the work of the choreographer, director and artistic director of Hamburg´s Ballet John Neumeier on the classical ballet jewels. The Nutcracker, Swan lake and Sleeping beauty are for sure the most well known, visited and popular titles most of the theatres with classical repertoire. John Neumeier manage to give a new face to those ballets and maybe that is why they are closer to the audience of today. He left the spirit of the old times and added the human side, unordinary commonness and the theme such is the same for all those three ballets ? love in each way. Comparing of the first versions and the Neumeier´s will hopefully helps with the better orientation in Tchaikovsky?s ballets from the seventies of the 20. century.
LETTERE CONTRA LETTRES
Dotlačilová, Petra ; Kazárová, Helena (advisor) ; Brodská, Božena (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I focus on two famous choreographers of the 18th century, Gasparo Angiolini and Jean-Georges Noverre, and their dispute about the nature of the then emerging genre of ballet pantomime. After the introduction of both authors and a short outline of the period situation, more detailed description of reasons and consequences of their polemics follows. The main part of my work is the analysis of their printed texts and the opinions expressed within, especially Angiolini´s paper Lettere di Gasparo Angiolini a Monsieur Noverre from 1773 and following reactions to this particular work.

It tries to proof, that dance had very important place in baroque opera as equal partner to music and singing.
Pavel Vranický ´s Ballet Das Waldmädchen
Stratilová Urválková, Eva ; Gremlicová, Dorota (advisor) ; Kazárová, Helena (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the Pavel Vranický's ballet Das Waldmädchen, played for the first time in Vienna's theatre Kärntnertortheater in 1796. Two years later the ballet was brought to the Czech theatre Stavovské divadlo. There are several sheets of music in the České muzeum hudby for the ballet Das Waldmädchen. The music was compared to piano score from Vienna's Österreichische Nationalbibliothek. Three hypothetical librettos of Vranický's ballet have been worked up using the plot from theatre poster, the opera libretto of Weber's early opera Das Waldmädchen, which is in the Bama Lutes Deal's dissertation, and the character of each musical number.
POLISH DANCE STAGE IN 1990´
Puchowska, Sara Maria ; Wiesner, Daniel (advisor) ; Gremlicová, Dorota (advisor) ; Kazárová, Helena (referee)
This thesis deals with Polish dance scene?s situation after 1989. It?s dedicated mainly to three artistic canters: Greater Theatre in Warsaw ? National Opera which is most likely concentrated on classic technique, Polish Dance Theatre ? Ballet Poznanski, which in turn is a contemporary group and Studio Buffo where musical and dance exhibitions are presented. The mentioned period was chosen because that?s the moment right after the fall of communism and when times were changing significantly. Yet another reason is lack of written information about those times
Bohemian topic in librettos
Babická, Tereza ; Kazárová, Helena (advisor) ; Brodská, Božena (referee)
Summary The author split her Bachelor Thesis into two main chapters that are further divided in subchapters. As a first resort she deals with the topic of the Hussite Wars in a chapter called Choreodrama considering the subject of the Hussite "Beautiful Rides". Then in the chapter A ballet inspired by the legend of the Maiden's War as described in Bohemian chronicals she focuses on the motif of the Maiden's War. The ballet Hussites at Naumburg was presented by Salvator Viganó in the Milan La Scala in 1815. It was a play with singing by August von Kotzebue what most probably inspired Viganó to compose his ballet. The comparison between the legend of Naumburg, the primary inspiration source, and the resulting ballet, is then treated thoroughly. Afterwards the ballet is confronted with the above mentioned melodram. Nearly at the end we are told how important the Hussite siege of Naumburg was for history. In 1852 Jules Perrot introduced in Petersburg his ballet The War of the Women, or The Amazons of the Ninth Century. According to the libretto the ballet was based on the story of the Maiden's War as reffered to in Bohemian chronicals. In fact the actual story is scarcely to be found in it. There are several potential inspirational sources for this ballet and it is not clear yet what the initial one was. Today we have two librettos of the ballet at the disposal a translation of a Russian edition by Jan Reimoser and a French libretto. Both of them are treated with in this work. What is interesting is that they are not entirely identical. Finally the author summarises in a brief outline the productions on this subject that were mainly stage-managed in the area of the current Czech Republic, and she concludes by describing the development of the Maiden's War motif in Bohemian chronicals.
Movement and actor
Slezáková, Kristýna ; Kubicová, Ivanka (advisor) ; Kazárová, Helena (referee) ; Pacek, Martin (referee)
My diploma thesis continues in the studies of the actor´s dancing movement, which I started in the bachelor thesis. This time I am taking focus on the creating of a concrete choreographic piece for an actor in the area of a drama or a moving theatre. There are certain differences between the work with a professional dancer and the work with an actor. I try to define these differences, give them names and search for some ways how to better the cooperation with an actor. In the first part I define the terms I use specifically, in the second part I shortly speak about the improvisation and in the last one I bring in a few exercises which support the work with an actor. All the exercises and recommendations came out from my personal experiences and whole the thesis is ment as a kind of a manual which helps to make the choreographic process easier.
