Statistical methods in stylometry
Dupal, Pavel ; Kaspříková, Nikola (advisor) ; Šulc, Zdeněk (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of some of the commonly used methods in the area of authorship attribution (stylometry). The text begins with a recap of history from the end of the 19th century to present time and the required terminology from the field of text mining is presented and explained. What follows is a list of selected methods from the field of multidimensional statistics (principal components analysis, cluster analysis) and machine learning (Support Vector Machines, Naive Bayes) and their application as pertains to stylometrical problems, including several methods created specifically for use in this field (bootstrap consensus tree, contrast analysis). Finally these same methods are applied to a practical problem of authorship verification based on a corpus bulit from the works of four internet writers.
Migration in the Czech Republic with a focus on South Region
Doležalová, Jana ; Macháček, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kaspříková, Nikola (referee)
The aim of my diploma thesis is identify factors that affect migration and assessment of impact in selected area. In this thesis I will be processing of the analysis migration population in our country. In each chapter I will be studying migration in general, including basic terminology, I will analyze the reasons for migration, I will explain ways to measure migration and also selected migration theory. Analysis of internal migration in the Czech Republic from the 90th years to the present will be conducted according to the demographic and economic indicators. I will focus on one of the region from the Czech Republic, especially on the South region, in which I will do more detailed analysis. Primarily I will be interested in migration between local territorial unit, subchapters will capture migration between districts and urban area.
Calculation of Acceptance Sampling Plans for Inspection by Variables
Kaspříková, Nikola ; Klůfa, Jindřich (advisor) ; Dittrichová, Eva (referee) ; Slavík, Václav (referee)
Analysis of several acceptance sampling procedures is performed and improvement of the procedures is sug- gested in this thesis. The issue of an efficient calculation of exact (P1, P2) single sampling plans for sampling by variables and exact LTPD and AOQL single sampling plans for sampling by variables when the rejected lots are inspected is addressed. The calculation of the plans is done using exact formula for operating characteristic of acceptance sampling plan and the new plans have better characteristics compared to the plans computed in a usual way using just approximately valid formula for operating characteristic. The tables of plans calculated according to procedures suggested in this thesis are provided for a couple of input parameters combinations. Tools designed for working with acceptance sampling plans, tools for analysis and calculation of acceptance sampling plans is one of the outputs of this thesis. R language and environment for statistical computations was chosen for implementation. The tools are satisfactorily efficient and may be easily used even for acceptance sampling plans tables computation. Newly defined functions in R are supplied including their source code and basic documentation so that acceptance sampling plans can be computed as demanded in case that the particular input parameters set is out of the scope covered in the tables of plans provided here.
