Measurement and analysis of the DAB system
Kaštánek, Petr ; Kufa, Jan (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the measurement and analysis the performance of the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. Theoretical part of the work contains a brief description of the signal processing chain of DAB. Attention is devoted to physical layer (PHY). In the experimental part of the work is designed and implemented laboratory measuring workplace for reception, processing and evaluation of DAB signal. The RTL2832U software defined radio (SDR) is used as a receiver of the DAB signal. The functionality of the proposed concept is verified by a detailed measurement.
Determination of active emissions of electric cars
Kaštánek, Petr ; Bayer, Robert (referee) ; Jaššo, Kamil (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the ecology of vehicles with combustion engines and electric motors, both in terms of operation and in terms of production of fuel or electricity. A closer focus is on active and passive emissions of cars with combustion and electric engines. Emission sources, their reduction options and measurement methods for their determination in the production of WLTP and NEDC cars are discussed. Non-exhaust emissions are discussed in detail. Furthermore, a measuring device based on the Arduino microcontroller is designed. This device is then used to measure solid particles from tires and brakes when operating vehicles with internal combustion engines and electric motors.

Laboratory Workplace For Performance Measurement Of The Dab/Dab+ System
Kaštánek, Petr
In this paper, a simple laboratory measurement workplace, proposed for educational purposes, to measure the performance of the DAB/DAB+ signal is presented. The RTL2832U software defined radio (SDR) is used as a receiver of the DAB signal in the measurement setup. Freeware available program DAB Player is used to analyze the DAB signal on the objective and subjective level. The functionality of the proposed concept as well as the applied measurement methodology is verified by simple experimental measurements.

Recent Advances in Outdoor High-Density Cultivation of Novelty Micro-Algae Strain with High Content of Lipids
Kaštánek, Petr ; Kaštánek, František ; Cepák, Vladislav
The objective of the study was the pilot plant examination of a newly developed integrated process for autotrophic cultivation of useful micro-algae. The process utilizes waste carbon dioxide as a source of carbon and yields simultaneously products that can be utilized in food and cosmetic industries, turned into biodiesel and/or used as a supplement in animal feed. At present, the cultivation of micro-algae merely for the production of biofuels is not economically viable. In the proposed process, the economy is improved by complex utilization of the micro-algae for simultaneous integrated manufacturing of several products that may be priced at different levels. In this way, the overall economy of the process is positive.
