Comparison of Physical Education teaching at foreign schools in Prague

Name of thesis: Comparison of Physical Education teaching at Czech and foreign schools in Prague Author: Barbora Hamáčková Tutor: PhDr, PaedDr. Ladislav Kašpar, Ph.D. Department: Department of Physical education and sport Aim: This dissertation is aimed at Physical Education learning at foreign schools placed in Prague. This is the comparison of contrasting education systems. A literature review has been undertaken to compare the diferences between the Physical Education programs at each institution. The study analyses the evolution of Physical Education in The Czech Republic and abroad. Methodology: The main method used in this thesis was quantitative analysis which consisted of a semi-structured in-depth interview. These interviews conducted with the heads of the physical education at the selected schools. Three international schools and two czech schools were involved in the study. Data collection for the purposes of this diploma thesis took place from January to April 2018 in personal meetings. Schools were contacted with an offical letter via email. The choice of schools was based on an analysis of publicly available documents from the Ministry of Education. Mass gymnastic exercises for younger teenage pupils in 1980 and 2012

The aim of the thesis is to analyse and compare two mass gymnastic exercises in terms of spatial choreography, the Spartakiade exercise for younger pupils from 1980 and the mass exercise of the Czech Association of Sport for all teenage pupils, girls and boys from 2012 called Between stars. The thesis also maps the development of mass gymnastic exercises in Czechoslovakia and later in the Czech Republic and generally describes the mass gymnastic exercise and the principles of its creation. The practical part of the work deals with Spartakiade exercise for younger pupils from 1980 and mass exercise of the Czech Association of Sport for all teenage pupils, girls and boys from 2012. The aim of the practical part is to characterise and compare the synchronised exercises in terms of place of the exercise, number of participants, sex, length of the exercise, background music and its intelligibility for the given age, clothing, equipment, spatial choreography and movement difficulty for individuals as well as evaluate content based on creation principles. Training and preparation of swimmers Water Rescue

This thesis looks into a preparation and training of lifeguards during one year training cycle. The objective of this thesis is monitoring (tracking) changes of functional indicators (heart rate) over the period of one year training for lifeguards. My thesis is divided into several parts. Theoretical part is mapping history of lifeguarding and origins of Lifesaving sport. It is focused on disciplines of this sport, specifics of the training and selected functional indicators. The practical part is divided on survey and reflexion (result) part. The survey is recording changes of heart rate in selected phases of a year training cycle. The reflection part is processing results. During a practical part have been used methods of observation, questioning, testing, statistics- collecting and analysing data. Prerequisites for the implementation of climbing in elementary

The theme of this thesis are terms that delimit realisation of teaching the climbing sport in basic schools. The aim of the these is to identify and analyse the terms for the realisation of teaching the climbing sport in schools during the PE classes. The theoretical part is aimed at the history of climbing and climbing walls, on a detailed description of the climbing material, and on the elucidation of climbing sport as an appropriate activity for the PE classes. Teaching of orienteering at primary school.

Title: Teaching of orienteering at primary school Author: Bc. Zuzana Procházková Department: Department of Physical Education Supervisor: PhDr. PaedDr. Ladislav Kašpar, Ph.D. Objectives: The aim of this diploma work is to chart the teaching of orienteering at primary schools in Prague and to use a questionnaire-based approach to determine whether orienteering is included within the school curriculum and if so, then how. The secondary objective is to draw up a draft of methods for teaching orienteering. Methods: Data collection was performed using a questionnaire-based approach. The questionnaire was evaluated in the graphs and tables. The method for the secondary objective is a detailed study of the literature and results of the questionnaire. Results: Thirty four physical education teachers participated in the research study. Sixteen teachers include orienteering within their teaching curriculum. The frequency of orienteering teaching is mostly 1-3 times a year. A half of the teachers teach orienteering in PE lessons. More than half of the teachers included orienteering as a part of school trips and courses. Most of them use specialised orienteering maps.
