Catalysts for positive electrode of hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell
Kováč, Martin ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Novák, Vítězslav (advisor)
Master's thesis deals with new methods of preparing catalytic materials for positive electrode of an oxygen-hydrogen fuel cell and the influence of potassium permanganate or doping agent molar mass change on theirs attributes. Further it studies the use of proper measuring methods designed to qualify theirs attributes and the presentation of achieved results. In particular methods of linear sweep and cyclic voltammetry and the processing of data using Koutecky-Levich and Tafel plot and wave log analysis. Values of half-wave and onset potential and kinetic coefficient have been measured and calculated.
Program for the optical link power budged calculation
Kováč, Martin ; Hudcová, Lucie (referee) ; Křivák, Petr (advisor)
Goal of this work is to study methodic of designing optical fiber and wireless link and to program an application which will be able to calculate power budget of specified link. Power budget of the link is the most important part of designing an optical fiber or wireless link because it tells us if it’s even possible to realize such connection or how many optical repeaters and amplifiers are needed. The bachelor thesis has three parts. The first part describes designing of optical fiber link (limitation by attenuation and dispersion) and various components that are needed (laser diode, optical fiber etc.). The second part describes designing of optical wireless link and atmospheric transfer environment (attenuation by beam spreading, attenuation by atmosphere and by turbulences in atmosphere). And finally the third part which is realization of the program for the optical link power budget calculation in compiler C++ Builder 6, flowchart, used equations and pictures (how does the application look like, how is it controlled and how the output may look like).
2D and 3D Simulation of Electric Fields of MV Source
Kováč, Martin ; Hruška, Ivan (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
In the master´s thesis author deals with simulations of electromagnetic fields and their applications in the electric practice at the design of electromagnetic devices. The first part of thesis deals with 3 electromagnetic field simulation softwares, their comparison and selection of the best software for the practical part of the thesis. The second part contains the practical applications of electrostatic and electromagnetic field simulation of HT power supply.
Measurement and analysis of electrical machine vibration
Kováč, Martin ; Janda, Marcel (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
Subject of this bachelor thesis are vibrations which are source of information for diagnostic equipment analysis. Diagnostic equipment is source of vibrations from the point early detection of raising problem which could markedly affect failure-free result of diagnostic facilities. The thesis especially deals with vibration sensors and their fundamental principles which are used for electric rotaring machines vibration tests as well as vibrodiagnostic signal analysis by reason of finding failure on diagnostic facilities.
Analysis of bone marrow plasma in order to identify new biomarkers in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Kováč, Martin ; Hrušák, Ondřej (advisor) ; Schwarz, Jiří (referee) ; Petrák, Jiří (referee)
Leukemia, a malignant disorder of lymphoid or myeloid progenitor cells, is the most frequent malignant disease of childhood. The most common subtype is acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In acute leukemia, several clinical symptoms may be caused by soluble proteins secreted by AL cells into the bone marrow (BM) microenvironment. We aimed at identifying proteins in BM plasma of children with ALL, which may be responsible for ALL aggressiveness or for microenvironment-mediated survival of ALL cells. LBMp (leukemic bone marrow plasma) at the diagnosis of ALL was compared to CBMp (control bone marrow plasma) and CPBp (control peripheral blood plasma) using cytokine antibody array and two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-D PAGE). Cytokine antibody array for 79 proteins identified 23 proteins expressed differentially with a statistical significance of p<0.05; of those, 2 proteins (TIMP-1 and LIF) withstood Bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons (p<0.00064). On the other hand little difference was observed between CBMp and CPBp. Using 2-D PAGE, we were able to detect 397 protein spots per gel, among which 16 showed statistically significant differences in protein levels, when comparing LBMp and CBMp by MALDI-TOF analysis. The highest difference has been found for haptoglobin in LBMp and retinol binding...
Old Catholic Churches of the Union of Utrecht in ecumenical dialogue
Kováč, Martin ; Vogel, Jiří (advisor) ; Vik, Dalibor (referee)
This thesis examines the bilateral ecumenical dialogues of the Old Catholic Churches of the Utrecht Union. After a brief introduction of the Utrecht Union as an ecumenical project and its development, the author discusses the dialogues of the Old Catholic Churches with the Anglican Churches, Orthodox Churches, Roman Catholic Church, Church of Sweden and other associated dialogues. The thesis also includes three excursuses: the concept of mainstream Old Catholic theology, the ecumenical method of differentiated consensus and the concept of differentiated participation, and the specific situation of the dialogue between the Old Catholic and Evangelical churches in Germany. In addition to an overview and the reception of the dialogue on the global level, the paper presents a reflection upon the local situation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Keywords: Old Catholic Church, Union of Utrecht, ecumenism, bilateral dialogue.

Bullying, Aggression and the law in environment of primary schools
KOVÁČ, Martin
The bachelor thesis 'Bullying, aggression and law in environment of primary schools' studies the increasingly overwhelming phenomena of aggression and bullying in primary schools and the possible lawful solutions of dealing with the problems. The goal of this thesis is to map primary teachers' legal knowledge and their readiness to deal with bullying in their classrooms. The theoretical part of the work examines the problem of bullying, its origins and the various points of view on this particular issue. It discusses the differences between 'bullying' and 'aggression' and points to the fact that aggression is a normal part of human development. It further investigates the factors leading to aggressive behaviour which manifests itself in bullying. The theoretical part deals mainly with history of bullying, its stages and forms and with its implications for both, the bully and his/her victim. The practical part research - was conducted in two primary schools among their teachers. Each teacher answered a short questionnaire with questions related to their experience with bullying and their knowledge of related laws. The collected information was evaluated and the evaluation was used for preparation of 'a educational materials' for teachers. The focus of this guide is to help teachers navigate the legal system if they encounter bullying problems.
