Komárková, Kateřina ; Čechovská, Irena (advisor) ; Hubená, Kristýna (referee)
Title: Swimming Aids in the Swimming Classes for Mentally Disabled Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to identify the effectiveness of swimming aids in the education of mentally disabled. The objective was to collect information from the lectors of swimming classes for mentally disabled people in the Czech Republic. Finally, the data obtained from the questionnaire could suggest the use of floatation aid or other swimming aid during the process of learning how to swim and move in the water. Methods: A method of a questionnaire was used to collect the information: selected swimming lectors specializing in swimming of disabled were invited to fill it out. Answers were analyzed and interpreted in the results section of the thesis, and were supported with tables. Results: Author's research has shown that the inclusion of mentally disabled in swimming classes has progressed. However, in the Czech Republic it was impossible to focus solely on mentally disabled as the swimming classes usually involve people with other disabilities as well. The use of an assistant during the swimming classes was very common. Author confirmed the preference of certain swimming aids among the lectors, and on the other side, some aids were no longer used. Finally, the use of swimming aids mainly supported the overcoming of...

Title: Inclusion in Swimming Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to identify the conditions and success of inclusion of disabled people in the swimming training of healthy athletes. The sub-objective was to collect information on specifications of training of disabled swimmers; coaches' preparation; and advantages and disadvantages of inclusive training. Seven research questions had been identified. Methods: Questionnaire survey method was used to collect information about the process of inclusion, and selected swimming coaches with experience with inclusion were asked to fill it out. Answers were analyzed and interpreted in the results section of the thesis and supported with graphs and tables. Results: Research has shown that inclusion is possible in most cases immediately or within one to four weeks; that there is a lack of barrier-free space for quality training; that clients are able to adapt to a group training of non-disabled and do not require a special training for themselves; that trainers are not actively seeking for a cooperation with clients-athletes, and that the first impulse usually arises from the athlete or a person close to the athlete; that the disabled athletes are often competing in races with healthy swimmers; and, finally, that the trainers are encouraged for...
Dysfunction of the pelvic floor muscles and tailbone in relation to the functional disorders of other segments of the spine
KOMÁRKOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis is concerned with what influence a pelvic floor muscular dysfunction has on the coccyx as well as on other spine segments and also on the posture as such. In principle, this represents a shortening of the muscles attached to the coccyx, which causes a broad scale of problems, which are usually confined to other parts of the body. Back pain is a common problem in today's population. It is an impediment to normal life and causes such pain that it often leads people to an addiction to analgesics, be it in the form of drugs or sprays. Thus the treatment only addresses the symptoms and not the real cause, wherefore it lacks long-term effectiveness. The movement apparatus is greatly influenced by the current lifestyle. Very often, over long time, people only get very little movement, while, at times, they put their bodies under extreme load with negative health effects. Due to sedentary work, an inactivation takes place, of the musculature of the deep stabilizing system of the spine, an important part of which is, notably, also the pelvic floor, which supports the internal organs from bellow and plays an important role in the stabilization of the body center. Psyche and stress also play an important role in this problem. Especially in women with pelvic floor problems, the complaints are not confined to back pain, but they also appear in other areas, such as the stopping of the menstrual cycle or other menstrual irregularities, functional sterility, incontinence. If we respect the body as a whole, instead of focusing solely on the area afflicted with pain, we can improve the effectiveness of therapy and improve the living standard of a patient long-term. By relaxing the coccyx and pelvic floor musculature, in combination with the correct mode of breathing, the body is capable to rid itself of problems in higher segments of the spine. The main goal of this thesis is to find out to what extent it is possible to influence the dysfunction of the pelvic floor musculature and thus mitigate the problems in other spine segments. This is to be achieved, among other things, using exercise developed by Mojžíšová, which aims to complexly improve the dynamics of the entire spine and to strengthen muscular groups of the whole body. This bachelor thesis can be used as a source for clinical practicing physical therapists who are interested in the relationship between pelvic floor muscular dysfunction and other spine segments It can also be used as educational material for women suffering from this affliction.
