Key barriers, opportunities and good practices for entrepreneurship and innovation
Křížková, Alena ; Marková Volejníčková, Romana ; Pospíšilová, Marie ; Vohlídalová, Marta
The report is focused on barriers, opportunities and good practices for gender-sensitive innovations and entrepreneurship. It is based on the analysis of 36 interviews with experts from the health, green and digital fields and the target groups defined in the quadruple helix of academia, citizens, industry, and government. The interviews were collected by 12 GILL partners in the 10 consortium countries in 2023. Gender stereotypical cultural beliefs and norms, masculine bias, gender segregation, lack of funding, lack of policies to support work-life balance and lack of political will and empirical evidence to remove these barriers are the main problems identified. The opportunities reflected largely correspond to these barriers and highlight the role of key actors, such as the EU, in setting standards. Projects focusing on fixing the number of women under-represented in certain fields and occupations and management positions predominate among good practices.

Extension of Working Lives in the Czech Republic: Employee Situation. Policy brief DAISIE project
Křížková, Alena ; Dudová, Radka ; Pospíšilová, Marie ; Heřmanová, Marie
This policy brief summarises research project results examining ageing conditions across three sectors: transport, healthcare and banking. It aims to respond to the still insufficient discussion on the needs and opportunities of women and men of pre-retirement age and in the process of retirement in the Czech labour market. Gender and age inequalities accumulate over the life course resulting in significantly lower pensions for women compared to men or making it impossible to retire with a decent pension. Uniform retirement ages does not suit everyone equally. The organisation of work in specific occupations has specific negative effects on the health of older women and men. Changes in profession, position or working time in pre-retirement age is not easily obtainable. The policy brief suggests recommendations for state and policy makers, employers as well as good practice examples. Gender audit of a regional authority
Stieblerová, Kateřina ; Pavlík, Petr (advisor) ; Křížková, Alena (referee)
The topic of this diploma work is the gender audit of regional authority. The goal is to find out if there are any institutional mechanisms that ensure the equality between men and women, how consciousness of gender problems among the interviewees is shown, if and how exactly the reign promotes the problems of equal opportunities on that particular level of regional authority, what the position of equality is of men and women in intern politics of the aforementioned regional authority, and finally, what could be changed in the aspects of region and authority. The work is divided into the introduction, the theoretical and empirical part, the conclusion, and the enclosure. The theoretical part is about the history and development of the institutional mechanisms for the equality of men and women, and of gender problems in our society. Also the tools for gender equality enforcement, and all above gender audit are mentioned. Methodology modified in terms of experience from foreign countries is also used. The bases, history, and ways of implementation of the gender audit are introduced as well. In the empirical part, the gender audit of the regional authority is presented....
The motor and cognitive consequences of inborn cerebellar degeneration and some possibilities how to influence it
Křížková, Alena ; Vožeh, František (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mareš, Jan (referee)
The motor and cognitive consequences of inborn cerebellar degeneration and some possibilities how to influence it The cerebellum is traditionally considered to be a coordinator of movements and equilibrium and a regulator of muscular tone. Participation of the cerebellum on the motor learning has been discovered later. Besides that, there is increasing experimental and clinical evidence supporting the idea of an important role of the cerebellum in common cognitive functions. Increasing number of experimental works - especially those on animals - demonstrate an effect of the the cerebellum on the memory and different types of learning. A suitable model to study the cerebellar degeneration are Lurcher mutant mice. During their lives, there is a progressive loss of Purkinje cells followed by a loss of granular cells and inferior oliva neurons. We concentrated on the following problems in this work: - development of motor learning and topical motor skills during the first month of life - positive and negative changes in NO synthesis and subsequent effect on discriminative learning - effect of administration of MK-801(non-competitive antagonist of NMDA receptors) on discriminative learning of Lurcher mutants and wild mice derived from two strains (C3H and C57B1/7). Lurcher mutants and wild mice were put in motor...
