RNA secondary structure visualization using existing structures
Eliáš, Richard ; Hoksza, David (advisor) ; Jelínek, Jan (referee)
Many research aim to RNA molecules and demand for tools enabling their analysis increased. First step is visual inspection of their secondary structure. In order to correctly lay out structure, the notion of optimal layout is required. However, this has never been formalized and is largely habitual. To tackle this problem we propose an algorithm capable of visualizing RNA structure using related one with known layout. Algorithm first converts both RNAs into a tree representation and using tree-edit-distance algorithm finds out the minimum number of operations to convert one structure into the other. All common motives are retained and the regions which differ are taken care of. Results show, that our algorithm is able to give good layouts even for relatively distant structures. It is well suited for visualization of homologous structures. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Template-based RNA tertiary structure prediction
Galvánek, Rastislav ; Hoksza, David (advisor) ; Jelínek, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with proposal, implementation and testing of a new algorithm for homologous tertiary RNA structure prediction, which means using a structure similar to the template. It focuses on the possibility of large RNA structures prediction in reasonable time and precision. The algorithm is based on copying conserved parts of template structure into the target structure. The unconserved parts are then predicted by an existing ab initio algorithm. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one contains basic information about RNA and its importance. The second one describes different ways of RNA prediction and it contains an overwiev of currently available prediction methods. The third one describes the invented algorithm and the fourth one presents achieved results.

Planning Solar Array Operations on the ISS
Jelínek, Jan ; Barták, Roman (advisor) ; Vilím, Petr (referee)
This work focuses on the problem of planning solar array operations on the International Space Station. The goal is to find a viable orientation for ten joints which attach panels to the station. These orientations and modes must satisfy various constraints and the final schedule should also take into account certain preferences. This is a task suitable for automated planning and scheduling, but new technologies are gaining very slowly in the field of the human spaceflights. In this work we will analyze the current solution of this problem and then we will propose a new algorithm that will exploit techniques of automated planning and scheduling. In the contrast with the original greedy algorithm, the suggested algorithm initially finds any solution and then tries to improve it by optimazing partial objective functions. Due to the size of the search space, the search attempts are limited by the time limit. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The change of Luxembourg's foreign policy
Jelínek, Jan ; Weiss, Tomáš (advisor) ; Drulák, Petr (referee)
Bachelor thesis "The change of Luxembourg's foreign policy" focuses on contemporary foreign policy of Luxembourg. The state of flux of Luxembourg's foreign policy is visible from the second half of the twentieth century, occurring at the present time as well. Past far- reaching changes of the world sphere were in the background of prevailing part of changes in external Luxembourg's priorities. The current alteration of Luxembourg's foreign policy illustrates the presented relation as Luxembourg's external priorities adapt to the changing global stage. Luxembourg decided to directly come down to the process of European integration in the time of the beginning of European Community in post-war Europe, which provided the opportunity to become an important European centre. In the present time, Luxembourg's foreign policy concentrates apart from other things on remote world regions of Arabian Peninsula and south- eastern Asia. This bachelor thesis is firstly devoted to illustrate the past approximation of Luxembourg's foreign policy towards Western Europe as well as to present the position of Luxembourg in Europe. Followingly, it depicts the changing orientation of foreign external priorities of Luxembourg associated with the extending of the network of Luxembourg's embassies. Discovered findings of...
Cardiac ischemic tolerance of hypertensive rats
Jelínek, Jan ; Neckář, Jan (advisor) ; Sotáková, Dita (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to summarize current knowledge about the influence of the ischemic- reperfusion injury at the myocard of hypertensive subjects. First part of this thesis is focused on the description of ischemia, reperfusion and changes in the myocardial metabolism during these processes. These changes in the myocardial metabolism are for example necrosis or apoptosis of the myocardial cells. The second part describes the currently known cardioprotective phenomena. This part also compares their effects. The signalization of preconditioning, the second window of preconditioning and the postconditioning are described here in more details. Third part is focused on the description of the risk factors connected to the ICHS and hypertension. It describes also classes of hypertension, clinical and experimental methods of hypertension treatment, description of the laboratory breeds of hypertensive rats. In the last part of this thesis I describe the influence of hypertension on the I-R injury in current laboratory studies. In the most studies spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) were used. As a normotensive controls Wistar-Kyoto rats were mostly used. For some other experiments transgenic genetic rats (TGR) were used. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Accumulated physical activity support at German youth
Jelínek, Jan ; Hendl, Jan (advisor) ; Štědroň, Bohumír (referee)
Title: Accumulated physical activity support at German youth Objectives: The main goal of this task is a closer look at the content of the accumulated physical activity support applicated on German youth and its comparison with the current status of it in the Czech republic. Methods: In this work I provide a content analysis of publications, foreign tasks, specific studies, articles and documents pointed at accumulated physical activity support issue that I additionally deal with in the comparative analysis of the Czech republic and Germany. Results: There is a clear outcome of the comparison made that both countries are fighting with the significant and constantly increasing number of teenagers that live in a sedentary and unhealthy way. In both countries there are numerous quality intervention programmes pointed at youth but they are underestimated from the managerial perspective in the Czech republic. Just in Germany we can find an inspiration and right direction in the area of conception, organization and the overall provision of successful intervention programmes. A physical education and sport manager shoud be the one who controls skills needed for mentioned programmes realization and he should gain these skills during his university (pregraduate) specialization that is closely related to...
