Measuring burden of formal caregivers in nursing homes

This dissertation presents a description of the concept of the formal caregiver's burden (for the purposes of this thesis it is the profession of a professional caregiver in direct care in a nursing home) and their possible measurement through the chosen theoretical and methodological tools. One of the research aims is to explore the characteristics of the formal caregiver in nursing homes in the Czech Republic, which may entail potential burden, stress and other attributes affecting the quality of work life. The dissertation is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, the basic terms such as formal caregiver and formal caregiver burden are first defined and characterised, which sets the chosen subject in a theoretical-conceptual framework. It is followed by a detailed description of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), the Areas of Worklife Survey (AWLS) and the Professional Care Team Burden (PCTB) measuring instruments, which form the core element of the used methodology. Spiritual guidance of people with learning disability

The present thesis deals with the area of spirituality and the possibilities of spiritual accompaniment of people with mental disabilities. The theoretical part presents current knowledge about how people with learning disabilities experience the spirituality and the possibilities of spiritual accompaniment in the Czech environment. The practical part, in the form of participatory research carried out together with people with learning disabilities, looks at the experience of spiritual accompaniment integrated into the activities of everyday life.
Urat transportosome: recent knowledge of physiology and pathophysiology

The main topic and aim of this bachelor thesis is the description of the urate transportosome, its physiology and pathophysiology. The term "urate transportosome" collectively refers to the urate transporters that are predominantly located on the apical or basolateral membrane of the proximal tubule of the kidney. Here their main role is the transport of uric acid in the body. Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism, if its physiological serum level decreases or increases, this condition is referred to as dysuricemia. Primary dysuricemia can be divided into hypouricemia and hyperuricemia. Both of these conditions result from a disorder of uric acid metabolism or transport. Dysthanasia

The BA thesis titled "Dysthanasia: Home care as one of the prevention methods of dysthanasia" deals with the issue of prolonged death and proposes solutions to prevent it. The theoretical part introduces to readers the basic concepts related to the finiteness of life. It discusses death from both medical and theological perspectives, and further describes in detail the concept of dysthanasia as one of the ways of dealing with death. The thesis defines the problems associated with dysthanasia and proposes palliative care as the best approach to prevent this issue. It also mentions organizational forms of specialized palliative care to follow up on the chapter describing home care for the dying, which is not only the best solution in preventing a negative approach to death and dying, but also meets the wishes of the majority of the population who wish to die in a familiar environment close to their family or friends. The last chapter mentions supportive services that help caregivers in caring for the dying. The practical part focuses on the closer examination of home care for the dying and its function in practice. Burn out syndrom at healthcare social workers

The subject of this bachelor is ,,Burnout syndrome Health social workers" This work was created on the basis of my interest, because I am interested in burnout syndrome and in health social work, which I would like to work in after graduating from this study programme. The thesis deals with the problem of burnout syndrome between health social workers and appeals to critical information about prevention of his rise. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part is describes the term burnout syndrome, his symptoms, phases, diagnostics and prevention. Helper syndrome is described here too and caddish with burnout syndrome and stress. Further in this part it describes the profession of a health social worker, his education, competency, ethic, types of clients, multidisciplinarity and at least risks for beginning burnout syndrome in health social workers. The practical part is to utilize the quantity method of research with questionnaire. Participants of this research were 123 people and dates were analyzed by standardized method MBI - Maslach Burnout Inventory.
The family's experience with the care and dying of a loved one

This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the experience of caregiving and the death of close family members. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first theoretical part focuses on the definition of the basic terms used in the thesis. I also deal with the topic of accepting the disease. Part of the chapter describes forms of a help, such as the use of a home hospice, pastoral care, or the help of a psychologist. In the last part I will focus on the topic of communication during this proces. In the second methodological part, I will describe which research method was chosen in the thesis. I will describe how I conducted the qualitative research. The part also contains information connected to choice of respondents and cooperation with them. The last practical part is dedicated to the research itself. First of all, I will present four case studies that I created from the interviews with the respondents. Pastoral care in the field of home health nursing

Pastoral care in field nursing service The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of pastoral care in the field nursing service with a focus on the elderly and the people who care for them. The aim of this work is to find out how pastoral care should be applied in the best possible way for clients using field nursing services and for people who care for them, based on the study of available literature and other sources and experience from pastoral practice. The aim is to analyze the current practice and look for ways to improve it, taking into account the available literature. The theoretical part first deals with aging and old age in the context of home care for the elderly, in which the family and other caregivers, for example workers in the field care service, play a vital role. Subsequently, the theoretical part is focused on the spiritual aspects of pastoral care and on pastoral care in field nursing service. In the practical part, the method of applying pastoral care in the Crusaders Care Service is described. The text contains concrete examples from the practice of pastoral care. The quality of social services provision in homes for people with disabilities

The bachelor thesis "Quality of social services in homes for people with disabilities", deals with homes for people with disabilities and characterizes them. Specifically, their activities, normative component, target group (people with disabilities) and overall how such a home for people with disabilities works and how it should look like. The next part of the thesis is focused on monitoring their quality through social services inspections and systematic visits by the ombudsman, because the quality of the service is crucial for this thesis (and for social work in general). After this theoretical view (one could say description of an ideal state), an analytical part follows, which compares the outlined essentials of the functioning of the service (according to the legislation and other regulations) with the actual state of the functioning of these services, which is based on detailed research by the Ombudsman from 2019. The analytical part also includes charts that come from this research, which are explained and described and individually evaluated on the basis of these findings. Dying and death in hospital from the social work perspective

The bachelor's thesis titled Dying and death in a hospital from the perspective of social work examines the approach of social work towards the phenomenon of dying and death in a hospital setting. In the theoretical part, I discuss the evolution of our attitudes towards death and the role of palliative medicine in this process. I define for the purpose of social work in the hospital and highlight the indispensable role of social workers in end-of-life care. I introduce readers to the functioning of the palliative care team and clarify the significance of developing hospital-based palliative care. In the final chapter, I aim to explore in more details the nature of social work with dying patients and their families. In the practical part, I focus on the attitudes of healthcare social workers towards dying and death in the hospital. This section is based on qualitative research and information gathered from semi-structured interviews.
Social work for people with mental disabilities focused on support in relationships

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to present social work in the field of sexuality and relationships as one of the approaches to support people with mental disabilities in their integration into everyday life. The theoretical part describes the approach to the sexuality of persons with disabilities and discusses the attitude of the Rytmus - from the client to the citizen, z.ú. It focuses on the explanation of individual concepts important for the examined field, the tools used, associated with specific examples from practice when working with service users. The practical part presents qualitative research, the purpose of which is to identify the impact the support for people with intellectual disabilities in sexuality, intimacy and relationships has on their inclusion in everyday life, and how they can benefit from such support. The research was carried out on two levels - in the form of interviews with selected users of the service, as well as with workers - sexual confidants who provide such advice. The conclusions of the qualitative research showed that support in the field of relationships has a positive effect on the overall experience of clients, strengthens the feeling of one's own value and place in the society.
