Web Application for Managing a Smart Greenhouse with Gamification Elements
Janeček, Martin ; Materna, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bažout, David (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create an intuitive user interface for monitoring and controlling conditions in a smart greenhouse. This is complemented by a system of devices, compared to a normal greenhouse, which maintain an ideal environment for the plants using remote access from the application. The web application is equipped by a gamification system, which aims to motivate the user to use all the features. At the same time, this system guides the user through the initial introduction to the smart greenhouse. The application is implemented using the Django framework, the presentation side is provided by the React library. The developed solution allows users to easily control the conditions in the smart greenhouse and analyze the history of measured data in a chart or statistics.
Acceleration of calculations in life insurance
Kuzminskaya, Kseniya ; Janeček, Martin (advisor) ; Vitali, Sebastiano (referee)
One of the major issues in practical calculation in life insurance - typically value of liabilities, value of the company, pricing,... - is that the calculations run times are very long. This work should investigate possible approaches how to speed up the calculation (cluster analysis, flexing,...). If the results are positive, it can have crucial practical applications 1
Acceleration of calculations in life insurance
Kuzminskaya, Kseniya ; Janeček, Martin (advisor) ; Vitali, Sebastiano (referee)
One of the major issue for life insurance companies is proper and consistent valuation of liabilities. This thesis introduces the standard estimation methods used in practice and discussed the alternative methods, which might help to speed up these calculations. It studies two possible methods of acceleration of calcu- lations in life insurance: analytic function and cluster analysis. The outcome of these work is comparison of discussed methods applied on generated life insur- ance portfolio. All methods were applied on two possible insurance products. Comparison of the results is based on the calculation precision and time needed to process the liabilities of the insurance company's portfolio. 1

Interest Rate Models - Practical Aspects
Hakala, Michal ; Janeček, Martin (advisor) ; Sitař, Milan (referee)
Topic of the master thesis is practice of interest rate models. Literature dedicated to the interest rate models usually presents theory in very general form. Theory presented in general form leads to a gap between theory and practice. Author tries to fill this gap. Thesis describes basic theory and presents practical computations, which are relevant to generating interest rate scenarios. Contribution is given by derivation of formulas and computational methods in form directly applicable for implementation of presented models. It is common practice to validate quality of interest rate scenarios. Author presents several tests and implements them in programming language Python. Tests are implemented as application with graphical user interface.
