Currency risk management through financial derivatives

The aim of this thesis is an analysis of currency risks arising from business activity and the use of financial derivatives in hedging against these risks. In the theoretical part, the basic terms are defined in order to understand this work. The concept of risk and its classifications are also described in this segment, as well as risk management methods. Information on individual financial derivatives and their breakdown is included too. Author informs about forwards, futures, swaps and options in this section as well. The last chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to the company's motivation to trade financial derivatives. In the practical part, theoretical knowledge from previous chapter is put to use. In the beginning of this section, author presents a company and applies a model example on it. First, the future development of CZK/EUR exchange rate is simulated according to the Monte Carlo method. Subsequently, the selected financial derivatives are valued and the effects that stem from hedging using these financial instruments are determined. At the end of the chapter, individual hedging strategies are compared according to established criteria. In the conclusion, individual strategies are evaluated and the recommendation of the most advantageous hedging strategy for the given company is given.

Leasehold of a Company - from an Accounting and Financial Point of View

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of a lease of a company according to International accounting standards and Czech accounting legislation, from a landlord and tenant perspective. Theoretical knowledge is applied on a selected company XY, s. r. o. The company provides information about what transaction affects its profit or loss. It counts on impacts of tax, law and accounting in the selected business company. Furthermore, the thesis shows the lease of a company from financial reports according to International accounting standards and Czech accounting legislation and it compares both results. At the end, the bachelor thesis also contains a recommendation for the company which standard is better for accounting to keep the lease.

Development of revenues of spotrs clubs according to the business cycle

The aim of the thesis is to determine whether the fall in the economic cycle turned out also to the activities of sports clubs or not. Explore whether the environment of sport is so specific to their properties, that is better able to succeed in bad economic times than other sectors. The first part will focus and outlines the theoretical basis for the neoclassical theory of the firm, and behavioral. The thesis mentions specific features of sport companies (clubs) and diversification of their revenues and it analyzes what's the position of sport in the state budget and how much influence the sport industry has on economic performance. The analytical part will focuses on selected sport clubs. Based on information obtained it analyzes the changes in the structure of revenues and expenditures over the past few years and evaluate how much sport clubs were affected by the decline in economic cycle or not.

Pro and con acceptance Euro - application on the Czech Republic

The aim of this work is to appraise advantages and disadvantages of accepting EURO, in Czech Republic, which has already taken steps in order to join the EMU. The first part focus on the establishment and development of the EMU and about requirements, which have to be fulfilled by the countries, which are supposed to become members of the EMU. Afterwards, I would like to speak about pros and cons associated with this membership and consequently, I will analyse consequences caused by acceptance of a single currency. With regard to previous theory and experience of the EMU members, the second part is adressed to the Czech Republic. Except from analysis of current economic factors, which are important when talking about accepting the EURO, I will mention opinions and positions of the leaders of the main political parties and alternative institutions. Then, I will compare the Czech Republic with other countries, that are adepts for accepting common currency. Finally, I will put together the benefits and costs associated with single currency and I will make adequate conclusions on the basis of previous analysis.
