Ichthyological survey of the fish stock of Lipno Reservoir in 2018
Soukalová, Kateřina ; Kubečka, Jan ; Kočvara, Luboš ; Jůza, Tomáš ; Souza, Allan T.
The study evaluates the state and development of fish stock in relation to the current fishery management and develops proposals for further management of the fish community and fishery regulations at the Lipno reservoir.
Monitoring the fish stock of Bolevecké ponds in 2019
Jůza, Tomáš
The aim of the study was to investigate fish community composition in Bolevecké ponds after fish stock reduction and massive development of submerged macrophytes.
Complex ichtyological investigation of the Lipno Reservoir in 2017
Soukalová, Kateřina ; Kubečka, Jan ; Bartoň, Daniel ; Děd, Vilém ; de Moraes, Karlos Ribeiro ; Jůza, Tomáš ; Souza, Allan T.
The aim of the study was to monitor the overall status of the fish stock of the Lipno reservoir in the key year 2017, when the fishing rules were changed. The catches of multimesh gillnets, fry trawling, seining and electrofishing, and the assessment of European catfish were evaluated. The species composition and relative abundance of fish in all significant reservoir volumes were found, and the year class strength of all species 2017 was quantified. The report also contains recommendations for further fishery management of the reservoir.

Report on the status of the burbot populations in the Karhov, Lučina, Nýrsko and Zhejral reservoirs and Obecník Pond in 2016
Blabolil, Petr ; Jůza, Tomáš ; Matěna, Josef ; Muška, Milan ; Peterka, Jiří ; Říha, Milan ; Vejřík, Lukáš
The aim of the study was to monitor the burbot populations in four reservoirs and in a pond with previous stocking. The monitoring was carried out during the spring season 2016 and, in the case of the Nýrsko Reservoir, during winter and summer as well. The combination of harmless methods (traps of two types, visual survay, electrofishing, hydroacoustic), a method simulating fishing pressure (long-lines) and a fix-frame trawl were used to detect burbot. A novel monitoring scheme was developet and validated and burbot populatin characteristics described.

Fish stock assessment of the Petrusplaat Reservoir in 2016, Fish stock assessment of the Honderd en Dertig Reservoir in 2016, Fish stock assessment of the De Gijster Reservoir in 2016
Jůza, Tomáš ; Soukalová, Kateřina ; Kočvara, Luboš ; Prachař, Zdeněk
In 2016, the aim of the complex ichthyological surveys of Petrusplaat, Honderd en Dertig and De Gijster reservoirs was the description of fish community composition and succession with the emphasis put on the abundance and biomass estimates. All important littoral/benthic and pelagic habitats were sampled using the well-established methods (benthic and pelagic gillnets, shore seining and pelagic fry and ichthyoplankton trawling, benthic traps) aiming particularly on the improvement of abundance estimates of gobiid fry.
Growth of Gymnocephallus cernuus, L. in freshwater reservoirs
Hubáčková, Zuzana ; Frouzová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Jůza, Tomáš (referee)
Gymnocephallus cernuus (Linné, 1758) doesn't belong to economically important fishes, but it is very invasive and often compete with economically important fishes. Ruffe affects populations of the economically important species by competing with them for food or by eating their eggs and fry. That is the main reason why all information about its growth, establishing and development of new population, is needed. The occurance of ruffe is currently vast, but ruffe is not indigenous species in many places. It causes reduction of the biodiversity in these areas. Many scientists are motivated by this fact and they pay more attention to ruffe. Ruffe is not required/undesirable species so there is an effort to reduce them in many of its non-original areas. For these actions a lot of information about populations of ruffe is needed. To get quantitative data about entire population of fish it is necessary to know age structure of population and the range of growth - variations in particular age - categories. This work is divided into two parts. In the literary review I have concerned with various factors which influence growth of fish and ruffes' particularly. In the third chapter I am dealing with determination of fish age. The most attention is paid to determination of age by the way of otolites. In the...
Monitoring of the fish stock in Bolevecký ponds in 2016.
Jůza, Tomáš
In spring 2016, the fish stock of Bolevecký ponds in Plzeň was monitored using electrofishing boat. Strong reduction of population of unwanted species was performed during last decade for the purpose of improving of the water quality. Monitoring showed relatively low densities of unwanted fish species and relatively large amount of predatory fish in both ponds. The convenient ratio of unwanted and predatory fish species is one of the basic factor for high water quality in the future.
