Nacházel, Jan ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Pekárek, Štěpán (referee)
This thesis deals with the impact of quantitative easing on public sector bond yields of selected countries in the world. It mentions channels of standard monetary policy tools and channels of quantitative easing, which can be included among unconventional monetary policy tools. This thesis analyses the impacts of quantitative easing, which was done by the Federal Reserve System, the Bank of England and the European Central Bank. Firstly, all these institutions fought against the financial crisis with standard monetary policy tools. However, those tools were not very effective, therefore the institutions moved to non-standard tools. After the analysis based on event-study method was carried out, it was found out that mainly the first announcements about the policy of quantitative easing were always the most effective in decreasing government bond yield. The subsequent expansion of the policy of quantitative easing did not have such impact. The main benefit of this thesis is in the examination of the impact of later statements regarding quantitative easing on government bond yield, which were not effective in decreasing government bond yield.

Letecký průmysl v globální perspektivě
Veselý, Martin ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Bertoli, Paola (referee)
The hypothesis claims that full service carriers (FSCs) will be forced to change their operating models. Additionally, the trends which form aviation market of the future are explored. The investigation is based on a financial assessment of ten important airlines incorporated in four different regions across the globe, between 2005 and 2014. According to the findings the trend of liberalization will continue, thus FSCs will continue losing market share to low cost carriers (LCCs) and as such, they will be made to change the way they operate in order to survive. The future aviation market is defined by a reshuffle of demand towards emerging countries, further rationalization of operating models and consolidation.

The thesis focuses on two regions of the world: Africa and Latin America. In both of these regions two countries are chosen to be analyzed more closely. These are Nigeria and Malawi for Africa, Brazil for South America and Belize for Central America. The possible channels of transmission of the crisis were identified to be private capital flows, international trade and commodity prices, remittances and international aid. In the analysis of the chosen countries, it was identified that the most important channels were international trade, commodity prices and capital flows. On the other hand the least impactful channels were remittances and international aid. These were rather stable during the crisis and in the case of aid even played a countercyclical role.
