Hrdlička, Jaroslav ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Harsa, Pavel (referee)
Title: The Impact of Body Weight Manipulation on Cognitive Performance and Present Psychological State in Combat Sports Objectives: The main objective of this diploma thesis is to investigate how Rapid Weight Loss (RWL) and subsequent Rapid Weight Gain (RWG) affect the cognitive performance and psychological state of combat sports athletes. A secondary objective is to examine the effects of these practices on body composition and, in the case of RWL, the effects on Urine Specific Gravity (USG). Methods: General information regarding pre-competition body weight manipulation experiences was obtained from 19 combat sports athletes who underwent weight reduction over a period of 7 days, followed by a 2-hour recovery period. Cognitive performance was assessed through various tests (simple reaction time test, choice reaction time test, and DSST) before and after RWL, and after RWG. Psychological state was assessed using standardized questionnaires (BRUMS and PANAS) before, during and after RWL, and after RWG. During RWL, USG and the methods used for RWL were also monitored. Results: The athletes reduced their body weight by 4.9% and subsequently regained 2.6% of body weight. RWL significantly impaired simple reaction time by 5.6% (16 ms). RWL also resulted in a statistically significant deterioration of...

Kissová, Edita ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
The thesis wants to present a briefly documented history of the religious community CHC in Vodňany from 1925 until 1990. Evidence of the origin and existence of a religious community is given by the general history of the Vodňany town. The following part is a prerequisite for establishment of a religious community CHC. After WW I, the town of Vodňany was characterized by a great inclination to reform the Catholic Church. The spirit of great joy from new beginning was obvious from the founding of the religious community of the new CHC church. Those joyful emotions were immediately replaced by the responsibilities during construction of the church building and subsequent complications with the repayment of construction costs. The study also deals with the architecture of the church building. Members of the religious community were active. They focused not only on the running of the community, but developed cultural (Theater) and sports activities as well. The testimony to these activities was testified by the Youth Union of CHC and the Zeyer - Theater Association. During of WW II, the activities of the religious community were limited to the bare essentials. The years after war meant taking a new breath. However, the recovery from war did not last long. The advent of the totalitarian regime brought...

Diploma thesis "Agnes of Bohemia - Life and Work" deals with the life and work of St. Agnes of Bohemia. She is one of the most important Czech saints. Although she came from a royal family, she did not hesitate to give up all her wealth and enter a monastery where she lived in poverty according to strict rules. It is the government of the last Přemyslid dynasty on the Czech trone, namely the reign of Ottokar I., Wenceslaus I., Ottokar II. and the beginnings of the reign of Wenceslaus II. The second chapter is already devoted to Agnes herself. Agnes did not stay much at home as a child, she was spending most of her time in monasteries and in the Austrian court, where she was sent for a planned marriage. She was engaged several times for political reasons, but no marriage ever happened. The chapter continus with Agnes' relationship with Franciscanism, her effort to reform holy orders and a brief description of the privilege of poverty. The third chapter is the most extensive. Town of Tabor 1420 - 1453
Barták, Zdeněk ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
The aim of my diploma thesis was to introduce Tábor as a town that was naturally the centre of the same name coalition connected to the Hussite movement since its foundation. Next, I wanted to compare the periods of Tábor's political, military, and spiritual development, since Tábor was during 1420 - 1453 religiously the most radical movement within Hussite confession, what was caused because of the influence of Picard sects within the movement. Establishing its own church organization proved that Tabor was extraordinary, although they were not able to push its catechism throughout the whole movement, which did not intend to break up connection with the Catholic church. Tábor military power was linked to the names of two excellent commanders, Jan Žižka and Prokop Holý, even at present this is the symbol of the greatness of Hussite era, since this movement was able to physically held against five crusades called for by catholic Europe. Political legacy of Tábor started with the diplomatic successes achieved in Cheb and finished with the acceptance of the Compacts of Basel, which confirmed the religious confession freedom. The history of Tábor and Hussite movement shall never come to its ending, since there are so many unanswered questions and uncertainties which deserves to be studied and...

Valdens and Unitas Fratrum
Roček, Jan ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
My diploma work "Valdens and Unitas Fratrum" deals with the first reformation in the world (Valdens) to a greater extent in the times when the Papal authority undertook crusades against Valdens. Valden reformation got a great response in the Hussite riots in the Czech Kingdom. It was Unitas Fratrum that reacted to its mission and teachings. This is why we can find some similarities between Valdens and Unitas Fratrum. Subsequently, the world reformation (Luther, Calvin) of the 16th century could be inspired by the preceding reformation movements and work on their assumptions.
