Music in terezin ghetto 1941-1945

The thesis deals with happenings in the Terezín ghetto during Word War Two with focus on cultural development, especially on classical music. It observes performers and composers who were imprisoned in the ghetto. Information connected to the music of Terezín, particularly the chamber music, is included in the thesis. Thus, the thesis is divided into three major chapters. The first one called 1.Ghetto Terezín includes two parts 1.1 History of ghetto and 1.2 Life in ghetto. The subheads inform the reader about the history of the ghetto, its formation and about life conditions of Jews imprisoned in here. The second major chapter 2.Music in Terezín ghetto contains 4 minor chapters. The 2.1 Freizeitgestaltung deals with the origin of musical happening in the ghetto, its development and organization. The following chapter 2.2 Composers of Terezín presents brief biographies and outlines the work of five important composers of Terezín: Viktor Ullmann, Gideon Klein, Pavel Haas, Karel Reiner and Hans Krása. Furthermore, the chapter 2.3 Opera and cabaret introduces the most popular musical genres in the ghetto, opera and cabaret. Prevention of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases

Preventing cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is one of the main components of preventive medicine. This thesis deals with prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The theoretical part describes the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, which is at the background of 90 % of CVD. The next chapters deal with the most common cardiovascular disease and its risk factors. There is described determination of cardiovascular risk and a nutritional prevention is included at the end of the theoretical part. A part of this work is a research carried out on 107 randomly selected individuals. The main objective was to find out the level of knowledge of this individuals about the possibilities of prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The survey was performed in a questionnaire survey, both in electronic and printed form. The survey revealed that the majority of respondents (87,9 %) correctly associate the CVD with an inappropriate lifestyle, only 12,1 % of respondents considered the most important factor in genetics. The negative influence of inappropriate meals and lack of physical activity prevails in the respondents' awareness. Dietary prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus

This thesis deals with the dietary prevention of type 2 diabetes. Dietary measures are one of the most fundamental elements of the prevention of diabetes. The general characteristics of diabetes mellitus, including epidemiology, clinical manifestations and pathogenesis is described in the theoretical part of this thesis as an introduction to this issue. Other chapters are dedicated to prediabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. More detailed interpretation of the prevention of diabetes is at the end of theoretical part of this theses. The survey among the people without diabetes was conducted as a part of this thesis. The main purpose was to find out the level of public awareness of the prevention of type 2 diabetes. The concrete objectives of this survey was to find out whether the respondents incorrectly consider the higher sugar intake to be the one of the main causes of emergency of type 2 diabetes and furthermore ascertain the awareness of connection between the obesity and type 2 diabetes. And the third particular aim was to determine the awareness of the increasing prevalence of diabetes worldwide.
