Apartment building

Subject of the bachelor thesis is detail design documentation of an apartment building. Proposed apartment building is located in the Zlín region in the foothills of the Hostýn Hills in the outskirts of the village Chomýž. Building is located on the cadastral number 3240 and 3238/1 in the cadastral area of Chomýž. The apartment building contains 6 apartments. In the basement are designed cellar cubicles, warehouses, drying room, utility room and room for house maintenance. On the first floor there are two apartments, a cleaning room and a pram room. There are only apartments on the second and third floor. Residential building is designed as a basement, three-storey, the last floor is a residential attic. The building will have a gabled roof with a slope of 35 ° and with dormer windows. The structural system of a residential building is a combination of longitudinal and transverse. The foundations are made of concrete foundation strips. The perimeter load-bearing masonry is in the basement of concrete blocks of permanent shuttering, in the above-ground floors of ceramic blocks, as well as the vertical support system inside the building. The ceiling structure on all floors consists of a composite ceramic-concrete ceiling made of POT beams and MIAKO inserts. The staircase is designed as monolithic reinforced concrete. Thermal insulation of apartment building is designed as polystyrene.
Home for the elderly

Subject of the master thesis is detail design documentation of a home for the eldery. My building is located in the center of the village Chomýž. The thesis includes architectural and structural designs, concept of technical systems and assessment of the building’s energy performance. Home for eldery contains 8 apartments. My building is fully wheelchair accessible. The building has two floors. On the first floor there are four apartments, canteen, sanitary facilities and technical equipment. On the second floor there are four apartments, community centre, doctor and hairdresser. The foundations are made of concrete foundation strips. Load-bearing walls and non-load-bearing walls in all floors are made of ceramic blocks. The ceiling structure on all floors consists of precast floor slabs. The staircase is also designed as precasted. The building is covered with a flat extensive green roof. Thermal insulation of the facade will be made of polystyrene. The drawings were elaborated in AutoCAD software.
Hearing loss during adolescence

The bachelor thesis deals with the impact of hearing loss on the lives of individuals with hearing disabilities during adolescence. The theoretical part of the text defines the concept of adolescence, the influence of hearing impairment on personality development, as well as information about the auditory systém and compensatory aids. The thesis the focuses on issues related to areas that are crucial during adolescence, namely education and preparation for future careers. The chapter on education for individuals with hearing impairments focuses on communication approaches and the inclusion process in schools in the Czech Republic. This chapter is followed by a section on tertiary education, which is part of the chapter about preparing for future careers. The aim of the thesis is to provide insight into life of individuals with hearing impairments, with an emphasis on the aforementioned problematic areas that need improvement. The practical part of the thesis includes an analysis of four interviews with three girls and one boy diagnosed with hearing loss. Motivation of Sportismen with Down Syndrome

The bachelor thesis focuses on the influence of motivation on individuals with Down syndrome in sports. It examines the athletic performances of individuals with Down syndrome in selected disciplines and compares the results of these performances between motivated athletes and athletes without motivational support. Furthermore, it addresses the sports opportunities provided to people with Down syndrome and provides an overview of the overall success of athletes with Down syndrome in selected sports at the international level. The thesis utilizes qualitative methods to determine how motivation affects individuals with Down syndrome who engage in sports. Athletes were tasked with completing specific disciplines that were repeated, with the only difference being the motivation provided by coaches. The research was conducted over a longer period of time to ensure that the individual's athletic condition did not interfere with the results of the observation. Impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in counseling services for the hearing impaired

This diploma thesis maps the issue of counseling services for the hearing impaired during the covid-19 pandemic. It uses a dual view of this situation, both from the point of view of people with hearing impairments and from the point of view of the staff of these counseling facilities, thus achieving a comprehensive view of the issue. To achieve the set research goals, a qualitative method of research survey using the technique of semi-structured interviews was chosen. The research survey was attended by 6 informants with hearing impairments and 3 employees from various counseling facilities, who had to deal with this extraordinary situation. In conclusion, it can be stated that the counseling facilities are coping with this unusual situation quite well.
Challenging behaviour in pupils with intellectual disability and autism

The diploma thesis deals with challenging behaviour in pupils with intellectual disability and autism. The aim of the thesis is to map the current reality of education of these pupils through the statements of pedagogical staff from pre-schools and elementary schools established in accordance with section 16, paragraph 9 of the Education Act. The occurrence, frequency, intensity and specific manifestations of challenging behaviour are examined, as well as the underlying causes influencing challenging behaviour, prevention and preventative approaches, solutions to the occurrence and escalation. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive overview of the problem and challenging behaviour in our country and in the Anglo-Saxon world and it deals with approaches to challenging behaviour. It also focuses on autism, neurodiversity and intellectual disability. The research part defines the aim of the thesis, research questions and methodology. The research is carried qualitatively using semi-structured interviews. The results of the research draw on substantial statements of fourteen members of pedagogical staff. Mental health, its diagnosis and therapy in people with hearing impairment

This thesis was created for the purpose of obtaining closer knowledge of the mental health of people with hearing impairment. At the same time, it also deals with psychological diagnostics and therapy for people with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is divided into three thematic groups. The first area describes the issue of hearing impairment, its classification and more detailed information regarding prelingual and postlingual hearing impairments. Furthermore, it also describes the field of mental health, which focuses more precisely on the description of mental health in individual stages of life, the process of coping with a disability, and the psyche of the parents of a hearing-impaired child. The last segment of the theoretical part is a description of psychological intervention, which is further divided into psychological diagnosis and psychological therapy. In the practical part, there is a qualitative research investigation based on semi-structured interviews conducted with six informants with hearing loss aged 20-35. Cochlear implantation in prelingually deaf children from the perspective of people with hearing loss

This diploma thesis takes a look at cochlear implantation in prelingually deaf children from the view of adults with hearing loss. Although most hearing parents would most likely make use of the option to at least partially restore the hearing of their non-hearing child, that may not be the only possible solution for people with hearing loss. The aim of this thesis is to map and to clarify the views and opinions of people with hearing loss on cochlear implantation in prelingually non-hearing children. This thesis highlights the link between cochlear implants and the Deaf culture and community, where the topic of cochlear implantation is often controversial. The theoretical section introduces key topics regarding the aim of this thesis, especially the association between hearing loss and the Deaf community, communication of people with hearing loss, while also introducing basic information about cochlear implantation. In the practical section of the thesis, as part of the qualitative research, the statements of eleven respondents are quoted, which were obtained in the form of semi- structured interviews in Czech Sign Language.
