Communication in healtcare with orientation on ambulatory treatment
Horová, Kateřina ; Mellanová, Alena (advisor) ; Pekara, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out the most frequent causes of conflicts in ambulant components. It was further investigated if there is any influence or whether the appearance and behavior of a nurse has any impact on a problem behavior of a patient. The last goal was to determine how to prevent these conflicts in the area of ambulant components. The theoretical part is focused on definition of the concept of communication and its characteristics. I have focused on the types of communication and emphasize its importance in the profession of a nurse. It is followed by personal characteristics of a nurse. Assertive behavior, which can help to improve the communication between a nurse and a patient, is also mentioned. The empirical part describes a quantitative method of the data collection by questionnaires. The administration of questionnaires, their return and mathematical processing of the data are also described. All is followed by the results and their interpretation. At the end of the thesis there is an evaluation of the formulated hypotheses that have emerged from the objectives of the thesis.
Case Milada Horáková: from reality and media reflection to film cover
Horová, Kateřina ; Novotný, David Jan (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the fate of Milada Horáková. It focuses on media responses regarding the trial, the film production Milada and the responses to it, the opinions of experts and further portrayal of the fate of the only woman executed in political trials. The first part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the life of Milada Horáková and is set in the context of that period. It also gives a detailed description of the trial preparations and subsequently explains the details of each day prior to the trial with all thirteen defendants. The initial part of the thesis analyzes the contemporary media responses of the three most important daily newspapers of that time, Rudé právo, Svobodné slovo and Lidová demokracie. Finally, the thesis deals with the rehabilitation of Milada Horáková and the responses regarding the matter in the summer of 1968 in the above-mentioned dailies. The second part of the thesis starts with defining the historical biographical motion picture as a genre. Subsequently, it describes the film Milada in detail and it gives a brief overview of the film's director David Mrnka and his opinion on the film. The thesis continues with the analysis of the actual film and its comparison with the actual sequence of events as well as Jan Mudra's documentary The Case of Dr....
Perception of financial risks
Horová, Kateřina ; Richter, Eva (advisor) ; Sieber, Martina (referee)
The thesis is concerned with the perception of financial risks, concretely the perception of the risk of indebtedness. In the theme are used data from an online panel from Behavio Labs in order to find out whether the citizens of the Czech Republic perceive taking bank or non-bank loans , eventually more loans simultaneously, as risky or not and which socio-demographic variables are related to the perception of the risk of indebtedness. As independent variables are analysed variables gender, age, education, income, number of kids, marital status, region, or money satisfaction. The methodological framework is based on descriptive statistics, contingency tables, serial correlations, and the non- parametric Kruskall-Wallis test. The thesis reveals that citizens of the Czech Republic in general perceive taking loans as risky. Because of the very oblique distribution for all dependent variables measuring risk perception of different types of loans, not too many statistically significant relationships were revealed. The strongest relationship that was shown was the dependence between risk perception of bank loans and education, as well as income. Key words: Risk perception, indebtedness, financial risks, risk tolerance, bank loans, non-bank loans
Online reviews of a documentary I, Tonya and users' comments in Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze
Horová, Kateřina ; Novotný, David Jan (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)

The second part of the bachelor thesis uses six foreign reviews, three from the United Kingdom and three from the United States...
UV-photochemical generation of cadmium volatile compounds with atomic spectrometric detection
Horová, Kateřina ; Nováková, Eliška (advisor) ; Červený, Václav (referee)
The aim of this master's thesis has been to develop and optimize the method of UV- photochemical vapor generation of cadmium volatile compounds for atomic fluorescence spectrometry. Two configurations with different materials wrapped around the low-pressure mercury vapor lamp were tested. I experimentally determined optimal conditions for both systems; the optimalized parametres included selection of photochemical reagent and its concentration, flow rate of liquids and gases, and the lenghth of the reaction coil. After finding the optimal parametres I determined the figures of merit of the method. I found from the measured data that UV-photoreactor with the quartz capillary provided lower limits of detection and thus was more suitable for generation of cadmium volatile compounds. With this arrangement and using the ferrous sulphate heptahydrate as the chemical modifier I obtained limit of detection 2,0 µg·l-1 , limit of determination 7,0 µg·l-1 , linear dynamic rate LOD-50 µg·l-1 and repeatibility 0,35 %. I also carried out the interference study in my thesis and determined the generation effeciency of cadmium volatile compounds. The interference study shows the influence of mineral acids (HCl, H2SO4, HNO3), their salts (NaNO2, NaNO3) and transition metals (Co, Ni, Cu). Based on literature review I also...
