Birkhot ha-shahar Text analysis and sources

The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the Birkhot ha-shahar rubric. It makes part of the morning liturgy, which is based on a set of blessings. At first, the study analyses the importance of prayer in the Judaism. Another aim is to describe the process which has led to the fixing of the prayer texts. Finally, it introduces the elementary structure of the current Jewish liturgy and it reflects the establishment of Birkhot ha-shahar and its application in the public divine service. Furthermore, the analysed texts divide this rubric into several chapters according to the content and development of the texts. The chapters reflect the origin and importance of the prayer texts.
Jews and Judaism in China

This bachelor's thesis deals with the presence of Jews and Judaism in China. The work is divided into three parts and includes an introduction and a conclusion. The first part deals with the history of the original Jewish settlements (approximately 8th - 19th century). It discusses the various theories of its origin and focuses especially on the Jewish community in Kaifeng. An individual chapter is dedicated to the issues of Christian mission in China and its contribution to our awareness of the local Jewish settlements. The second part focuses on the phenomenon of the theology of the Chinese Jews. After basic characteristic, the thesis deals with the degree of the assimilation of the Jewish religion in China, which is labelled by the term "the sinification of Judaism". In several subchapters, the thesis analyses essential concepts of the Jewish religion with an emphasis on their local interpretation in China. In the conclusion of the second part, the thesis deals with the appearance of the synagogue in Kaifeng that no longer exists. The third part deals with the past and present of modern Jewish settlements in China. It includes the information about the Jewish immigration to China in the first part of 20th century, the situation of the local Jews during the Second World War and their post-war development...
Conception of a Human Share in The Book of Qohelet

The work "Conception of a Human Share in The Book of Qohelet" deals with the meaning of human fate as described by the Biblical book Qohelet. In the first chapter it pursues the concept of man from the point of view of the Bible and Rabbinical Judaism. The second deals with the general characteristics of the book. I focused primarily on characterizing the genre and questions regarding the authorship and origin of the work, I outline the fundamental themes and motives of the book as well as its inclusion into the Biblical canon. The third chapter describes in greater detail the main theme of Qohelet in light of traditional Judaism. The fourth deals with the general content of the work. In the fifth is submitted an illustration of the rabbinical interpretation of chosen passages of the text dealing with the fate of man. The sixth chapter is devoted to personal thoughts and a summary of fundamental thoughts that run through the entire work.
Jewish immigration to America, especially concerning Hasidic Communities

Diploma thesis Jewish immigration to America, especially concerning Hasidic communities deals with the current situation on Jewish settlement in the USA, focusing on hasidic communities and dynasties. The paper starts with the very beginning of the exploration and settlement of Europeans in the New World with the first traces of Jews there. I've also mentioned the first Jewish community, at the South Amrican continent, today's Brasilia. Next chapters are about to describe arrival of the first settlers to North America, to the area of today's New York City, the development of the jewish settlement through the United States. Further parts of the paper deals with hasidic communities and hasidic dynasties in the US, area of New York City, mainly focused on Satmar hasidic court and the others.
