Nursing Care of a Patient with Stomach Cancer

Stomach cancer is the most common tumor of the stomach. It represents about 95 % of all stomach tumors. In this thesis I deal with a casuistry of a fifty year old patient with the stomach cancer diagnosis. The clinical part of the thesis is a clinical background which includes basic anatomical and physiological descriptions of the stomach and a characteristics of the disease. The nursing part of the thesis shows an application of Marjory Gordon's pattern for assessing a patient and an application of the nursing process to the patient care. The thesis output is a documentation of a nursing care of the patient using the nursing process method. The method consists of the patient assessment, the nursing diagnostic, the planning and the realization of the nursing care and the evaluation of the effectiveness of the provided care.
