Decathlon performance development
Chalupníček, Hynek ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Decathlon performance development Objectives: The aim of this thesis was the evaluation of the performance development in combined events during the period of 2009-2016 based on the results of world competitions and variability of the point structure of the individual decathlon. For these purposes were used data from world competitions that were afterwards compared in the way of winning performances and other atheletes. Methods: In this thesis was used the method of comparison and analysis of the best performances with the averages of the performance values of the first five best decathletes. Results: The results of this work concluded that the development of performance in the monitored period did not change significantly. As in previous years, athletes with outstanding sprinter-jumping results dominate in combined events, without obvious point losses in throwing disciplines. The development of performance was significantly influenced by Ashton Eaton and Trey Hardee, whose performance exceeded 8700 points. From the individual performance development of American decathlon athletes, Ashton Eaton confirmed the high efficiency of his best performance progress during the followed period. The difference in point scoring between the winners and other athletes were similar that showed high evenness...

Title: The influence indicators explosive force on the acceleration abilities Objectives: The main aim of this work is to find out the degrese of relatedness indicators explosively force abilities with an acceleration and maximum velocity of soccer players of different ages. Another aim was to determine the degrese of correlation between the acceleration rate AR5 (5 m) and the maximum velocity of MR20 (20 m). Methods: To solve the problem was used the method of measurement. The first measurement was the measurement of the maximum and acceleration velocity by using photocells. Second measurement was explosively-force abilities at assisting Kistler plate. The data measurement by the photocells and Kistler plate I processed by using IBM SPSS Statistic 22. The data from the program IBM SPSS Statistic 22 were statistically processed by Cohen's d. Results: It was detected that indicators of explosively-force skills CMJ such as maximum height and maximum power have a high effect on the acceleration abilities for footballers aged 15-16. Furthermore, i was found that the greatest change indicators annual increases explosively-force capabilities occurs with SJ. Finally, it was found that the degree of connection between the AR5 and MR20 is low (r = 0.35). Keywords: football, fitness ability, speed, strength,...

Janikov, Martin Tino ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Evaluation and training of speed in strength and conditioning preparation of youth basketball players Aims: The aim of this thesis was to validate effectivity of the training program which goal was to improve speed abilities of youth basketball players under 14 year old category during their competitive period. In the same time, I tried to evaluate how changes in selected anthropometric characteristics, practice attendance, game involvement and a length of participation in organized sport and basketball preparation influenced selected speed and agility manifestation. Methods: This thesis uses experiment as its research method. Research sample including youth basketball players (n = 9; mean age 13.39 ± 0.22 years) completed six months long training intervention with elements for speed and general strength development. Players were tested before intervention, three months and six months after beginning of the intervention. Three performance tests were used: 20 m sprint, 15 m flying with 10 m run up and lane agility drill. Video recordings of 20 m sprint and 15 m flying tests were made to evaluate changes in technique of running. Changes and interrelationships of all measured parameters were evaluated in the six months period. Results of the research sample after the first three months of...
Technique Requirements in decathlon
Bernášek, Jiří ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Univerzita Karlova, Fakulta tělesné výchovy a sportu Abstract Title: The claims of technique in decathlon Objectives: The main aim of the thesis was to find out how our two skilled decathletes are able to cope with the demands on the technique in the jumping and throwing decathlons events within few monitoring years. We were trying to find strengths and weaknesses in technical events based on a comparison of the technical realization in selected events recorded at the best republic competitions. Then we were trying to define if there are some technical mistakes common to all the jumping and throwing disciplines, or if these mistakes are different for certain disciplines. Methods: In our thesis we used methods of observation, analysis and comparison. The observation method we have used was filming video sequences of our two subjects in national competitions. From these videos we continued to create photo sequences which we have used for analysis of the technical realization of selected events. The comparison method we have used during comparison of photo sequences for each technical event within a few years. Results: We found that the technical realization of these selected events has not changed within few monitoring years, only the pole vault was exception. In this event both decathletes improved their...
The Appearance of the reflex locomotion elements in the hurdle clearance stride
Musil, Daniel ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Title: The Appearance of the reflex locomotion elements in the hurdle clearance stride Thesis Objective: The main objective of this thesis is to state the frequency of the presence of reciprocal inhibition (RI) and cross extensor reflex (CI - contralateral inhibition) during hurdle overrun. Methods: The subjects were tested during running over three hurdles with modified distances similar to the 110m hurdles. The height of the hurdles was set to 0,99 m. The muscle activity was monitored by surface electromyography and video was recorded simultaneously. The hurdle clearance was divided into particular phases which altogether formed one cycle. Collected data was analyzed by the software Megawin (rectification, smoothing, and synchronization with camera) and subsequently converted into software MATLAB. Nine cycles of each subject were averaged. Such modified cycle was evaluated consequently. Results: Reflex locomotion (RI and CI) was presented more often in the group with less experience with the hurdles. Co-activation of antagonist muscles was typical for the group consisting of more experienced individuals, rather than RI and CI. Key Words: hurdles, biomechanics, sEMG, reciprocal inhibition, contralateral inhibition
Effect of water temperature on the recovery during repeated isometric performance
Škoda, Jan ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: The influence of water temperature on the rate of recovery during repeated isometric exercise. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to assess the effect of water temperature on immersion of forearm to water for the sake of speeding up the recovery process during repeated isometric performance. Methods: Five male subjects from the students of FTVS (average age 22 ± 3 years) underwent three meaurements with repeated exercise to exhaustion with various kinds of rest periods. The exercise was represented by three series of intermittent isometric contraction of the finger flexors until exhaustion with 20 minutes rest period. The rest period was represented by the immersion of forearm into cold water (8řC; 15řC;) as well as by a passive rest. Sturation O2 of saturated hemoglobin (SmO2) was monitored by the spectrometer throughout the entire measurements at flexor digitorum profundus. Results: The reliability of measurements was rel=0,79 with standard deviation SD= 27,3s and standard measurement error SEM= 12,5s. The least effective method of recovery was passive recovery. Decrease in the time between the first, second and third contraction respectively was 35s, 34s respectively. Immersion in 15 ř C water under recovery phase led to improvement in the second contraction by 43s and by 27s in the...

Theme: The comparison of tests parameters of Czech and world javelin throwers Aim: To compare test batteries of Czech and world javelin throwers from the past to the present time. To characterize individual javelin schools in the world and point to the differences between these schools and compare them with a Czech javelin school. Methods: Our work is mainly focused on the method of comparison. We use this method in result to answer some scientific questions. It was compared 25 elite javelin throwers in total with their average performance 88,84m. For data analysis we used basic descriptive statistics to compare differences between Czech and world javelin throwers. Further, it was also used for the method of research focused on searching of professional publications, training diaries and we also used the method of interview/dialogs between their trainers and competitors to characterize javelin schools and get tests parameters. Results: We can see from gathered results that the Czech javelin school took a different way to achieve this sport performance. That fact was shown in test results. The results of general test batteries of world javelin throwers were higher/better in average than the results of Czech javelin throwers. But the results of special test batteries of Czech javelin throwers were...
