A design of small size power hammer
Hladík, Radim ; Knoflíček, Radek (referee) ; Tůma, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis, in addition to the design of small power hammer, contains information from the history of power hammers, current research of the market of the manufacturers of these forming machines and their specific requirements. It also states the classification of these forming machines according to various criteria for example based on the structural arrangement, the method of energy transfer, etc. Furthermore, two designs of the power hammer construction are carried out according to the specified parameters. One of these variants is selected based on the multicriteria analysis and presents a detailed proposal. In this selected variant is made 3D model design sketched using software Autodesk Inventor 2021, basic design calculation and drawing documentation. In conclusion, there are recommendations for practice and evaluation of work results.

This methodology aims to offer libraries and other memory institutions in the Czech Republic a recommended procedure for making large volumes of data available for research purposes. Currently, from this point of view, a more than critical amount of documents from library collections are digitized, while the results of digitization are presented in various digital library systems. When making them available, it is always necessary to proceed from the current version of the copyright law, but it is already possible to prepare for its significant amendment, which implements Directive 2019/790 of the European Parliament and the Council and concerns, among other things, the extraction of texts and data for scientific purposes. The architecture of the newly developed system for digital libraries recommended by the methodology will ensure scalability, easy management and the development of related services. The presented methods of data processing, their enrichment and output formats are based on the requirements of specialists from the entire range of humanities.

Brezík, František ; Švelch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Hladík, Radim (referee)
The diploma thesis "Death in media discourse: the case of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane" inquires into the case of the disappeared flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. The flight has been mapped in Czech press as well as online newspapers from the perspective of death based on a subjectively composed qualitative method of grounded theory and discourse analysis. In the unprecedented tragical event, death is being constructed in a specific way in the context of media discourse. Hence, the allegoric character of epistemology and constructivist paradigm plays an important role here. The theoretic reflection describes the context of the relation between media and the topic of death. The abundance of topics in media associated with death is considered a symptom of a particular demand from society. The media increase the general tolerance towards images of death and violence, thus impacting character of such displays. In the reflection of the mental background, the character of perceiving death in a secularised society is denoted as metaphorical. In the research part of the thesis, discursive patterns are introduced. From them, we may understand what values associated with death are socially important and in what way does death appear and construct itself in the media. What is important here...

Cognitive errors in mass media communication
Zíka, Vojtěch ; Křeček, Jan (advisor) ; Hladík, Radim (referee)
This work is based on an assumption that human decision-making process is following several approximate rules (heuristics) that causes predictable and systematic errors in judgement (cognitive biases). Although this stand point is typical for fields like behavioural economics or behavioural law and economics, there is no reason to not apply this logic also on other discipline like a mass media communication studies. This work offers an analysis of the information market where supply side is represented by producers of information (e.g. media organizations) and demand side is represented by consumers of those information (audience). The analysis is focused on factors that cause perceived description of a particular event can vastly differ from this event. One of those cognitive biases which cause different perception of the same media content is called hostile media effect. In respect to this effect, sympathizers with a socially controversial topic tend to perceive information in the mass media as hostile to their own opinion. Previous research concluded that hostile perception is mainly caused by a reach of information which is explained by the selective categorization - although individuals with different worldview can see the same content, they perceive it with a different valence. The valence of the...
