Role of metal hyperaccumulation in serpentine adaptation
Havlíková, Karolína ; Kolář, Filip (advisor) ; Stiblíková, Pavlína (referee)
Throughout our planet's history, plant and organism communities have faced many severe environmental challenges. Changing environment forces leads to the adaptation of plants to specific conditions, such as serpentine soils, specific by their natural toxicity. There are several possible adaptation mechanisms to serpentine challenges and one of them is probably hyperaccumulation. Hyperaccumulation is the ability of a plant to accumulate large amounts of heavy metals without signs of toxicity, and most such plants live on serpentine soil. However, it is far from known how many plants have such an ability. Some plant species inhabit normal soils as well as serpentine soils. These so-called facultative hyperaccumulators represent ideal study systems for addressing the role of hyperaccumulation the adaptation towards toxic soils. These species are most often found in the Brassicaceae family and also in the genus Alyssum s.l.. So far understudied species Alyssum gmelinii may be one of these promising new model species as it grows on a normal substrate, as well as on a serpentine. My bachelor thesis tries addresses the role of hyperaccumulation in substrate adaptation both theoretically and in a practical experiment with replicated natural populations of A. gmelinii. Two serpentine and two non-serpentine...
Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of total hip replacement.
Havlíková, Karolína ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Vosmíková, Simona (referee)
Title of bachelor's thesis: Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of total hip replacement Aims: The aims of the bachelor thesis are to improve theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills connected with the diagnosis of total hip replacement and physiotherapeutic methods used after the implantation of an artificial hip joint. Summary: The thesis is divided into two parts. The first, general part, deals with the anatomy and kinesiology of the hip joint; it also deals with the osteoarthritis, which is the most common cause leading to the total hip replacement. Particular types of implants and operating approaches are dealt with, as well. A significant part of the thesis deals with the rehabilitation plan for patients with this diagnosis, including preoperative rehabilitation, early rehabilitation after the operation and following rehabilitation. The second, specialisted part, deals with the casuistry of a patient after the implantation of an artificial hip joint, including evaluation of the effects of the therapy by comparing the kinesiological analysis before and after the treatment. Key words: physiotherapy, case study, coxarthritis, hip joint, total hip replacement
Neologisms in Modern Korean
Havlíková, Karolína ; Mazaná, Vladislava (advisor) ; Horák, Tomáš (referee)
(in English): The aim of this thesis is to analyze neologisms used in the modern Korean language. The thesis describes problems with their definition and reasons for their formation. It includes systematization of the crucial ways of new words formation by giving examples. It also deals with new English loanwords, both those borrowed directly and those formed in Korea. New English loanwords from three different sources are then analyzed from the word formation point of view in the practical part of the thesis.
The influence of exercise on subjective perception of our own body in participants of the Feldenkrais method course
Havlíková, Karolína ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Prajerová, Květa (referee)
Title of the thesis: The influence of exercise on subjective perception of our own body in participants of the Feldenkrais method course Aims of the thesis: The aim of this thesis was to deepen the theoretical knowledge of the Feldenkrais method, the basic anatomy of the cervical spine and the construction of the eye. Furthermore, the aim was to clarify the connection of eye movements and cervical spine, and define cervicoocular reflex, vestibuloocular reflex and whiplash syndrome. Then apply this knowledge and explain how one lesson of the Feldenkrais method affects the subjective perception of our own body, and how it can affect the magnitude of the cervical spine ranges. Method: It is a quantitative, experimental research. In the first part of the research, the questionnaire of own design monitored the effect of one lesson of the Feldenkrais method on the subjective perception of our own body in a group of 56 people aged 24 to 79 years, the lesson took part during a three-day course. In the second part of the research, the effect of one Feldenkrais method focused on the movement of eyes and cervical spine was studied in a group of 20 people aged 19 to 27 years. Data to this section was obtained based on input and output measurements using a measuring tape and a goniometer. In addition, a...

Adaptation of new employees in the SIEMENS Ltd. company
Havlíková, Karolína ; Hubinková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Lorencová, Hana (referee)
One of the most important factors of the prosperity in each company is people -- its employees. It is well known, that when the employees are unsatisfied, they don't use so much effort in their work or in a worse case they loose interest to stay in the company and they start to seek for another one. Remarkable influence on stabilization of employees in a company certainly has their successful adaptation to the new employment. This diploma work focuses on an analysis of the adapting process in the company Siemens Ltd. Using a questionnaire there were inefficient components of the contemporary programme for adaptation of new employees discovered and recommendations for the management of Siemens Ltd. were proposed.
