Europeanisation of Czech, Polish, and SLovak media in the context of three crises
Rosenfeldová, Jana ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Gregor, Miloš (referee) ; Havlík, Vlastimil (referee)
The dissertation focuses on the level and form of Europeanisation of Czech, Polish and Slovak media in the intense phases of three crises - the migration crisis, the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine. The theoretical starting points of the thesis are the theories of the public sphere. Its functional variant is considered in the context of the "European communication space" as a means or a necessary condition for eliminating various deficits of the European Union, especially the democratic deficit. Of the various approaches to conceptualizing the European public sphere, the research in this thesis adopts a Europeanization approach, through the lens of which the European public sphere is seen as a network of national public spheres that are increasingly "Europeanized", and which relies on individual national media in its empirical efforts to detect the European public sphere. A parallel quantitative and qualitative content analysis of the content published on Facebook by six Czech, Polish and Slovak mainstream media outlets in the early stages of each crisis identifies different levels of Europeanisation across crises, reflecting the different levels of competences that the EU possessed in each of them. At the same time, it shows that EU issues and actors have managed to gain a foothold...
Sculptural object in cultural -landspace reflections of not only public space
Kačírková, Pavla ; Babyrádová, Hana (referee) ; Sedlák, Jan (referee) ; Havlík, Vladimír (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the dissertation is to understand the rural environment, using the specific example of the Šarovy village, in all its uniqueness and wholeness of its built-up and rural zones. It points out the pressing problems of current landscape, such as the alienation of man and landscape, land consolidation, or bad state policy. The case study describes the activities of the citizens association Jinákrajina in the area of Šarovy and nearby villages. It describes individual activities of the citizens association (sculptures, avenues and trees, interesting places in the landscape, nature trails, events, and plans for the village), the reasons for their origination, the reactions they caused, and the consequences. The objectives of the research aim to show that it is art that can be the joining element between ecological and social approaches.
Residential complex Brno - Reckovice
Macečková, Eliška ; Havlík, Václav (referee) ; Herzan, Radovan (advisor)
The area is located in the north part of Brno (Řečkovice a Mokrá Hora) and is surrounded by a housing estate. To the south of this area is a complex of former barracks. In our project we propose to use the area as a residential district with public amenities. Sports ground and the park are included. Currently there are terraced houses and separated family houses. We especially use low-floor blocks of houses with no more than four floors. Orientation of the blocks corresponds with the fact that this area is on the north slope. Family houses with gardens are situated on the east side of the area. The area is accessible from the Žilkova street (on the east) and from the Terezy Novákové street (on the west) – buildings on this street make a noise barrier. The square of our area is next to this street and represents a public place with public amenities (for example a retirement house and a school of art), underground car park and a pedestrian precint leading to the park. A tram stop is nearby. Sports ground and the park are situated in the north part of the area. In the central part we find the kindergarten. Underground car parks for the residents are under the blocks and its courtyards.
Hollywood
Šprincl, Petr ; Havlík, Vladimír (referee) ; Cenek, Filip (advisor)
Hollywood is an experimental 8mm film that illustrates the text in a diary of my grandfather. The film is notionally divided into two parts - a "landscape of memories" and "landscape of fear and death". Grandpa here remembers his childhood in Dolní Loučky, which is also associated with the death of his grandfather, friends, that there he had in childhood and last but not least, the place where he wants to become his last rest. In the second part of his character is intertwined with the "landscape of fear" which is filmed near Litvinov, bleak countryside illustrated his concern about a retirement home and a gradual loss of his will to live. He illustratively passes through this country and trying to find his salvation.
MISSING AND DISAPPEARING
Langer, Jan ; Havlík, Vladimír (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
This work documents the author's interest in drawing and is based on the mental background of his artistic creation. The work is guided by the interest in the physical conditions of the drawing itself (materiality of the drawing), but also in the study of drawing as a fluid material of artistic creation, entering into the relationship with the image (drawing as a material). At the same time it deals with the process of creation itself and the phenomenon of repetition. The primary goal of the whole work is not the deliberate laying of pre-formulated questions and the subsequent search for their answers, the presentation of some finished truths, or the mere illustration of a certain issue, but rather the process of finding questions that emerge during the process of creation itself.
The Essence of Performance
Martinek, Filip ; Havlík, Vladimír (referee) ; Ruller, Tomáš (advisor)
Openness to a specific experience of being and the possibility of achieving relative perfection at the maximum horizon is essential, as is the subsequent move beyond this horizon, that is to say the fulfillment of its potential at its maximum level, culminating in the performative act. This leads us to a link that is the confirmation of authenticity, the reality of presence. Such presence is then autotelic. Potential, updated as such, is in its presentation deprived of hedonistic selfishness.
Post - conceptual Approaches in the Contemporary Czech Painting
Dub, Petr ; David,, Jiří (referee) ; Havlík, Vladimír (referee) ; Zálešák, Jan (referee) ; Stratil, Václav (advisor)
The dissertation thesis entitled Selected Post-conceptual Approaches in the Contemporary Czech Painting reflects the author’s expressions of the youngest artists’ generation working with the conceptual forms in the painting medium after 1996. The aim of the dissertation is to outline the conflict and overlapping of the conceptualism and painting. Apart from the development of conceptual art, the reference framework of the submitted thesis also comprises the post-modern turn in visual arts associated with a global change in its social status during the second half of the 20th and at the beginning of 21st century. The development of the domestic artistic scene and particular approaches are presented on the basis of a representative selection of the most distinctive tendencies and significant authors, being compared with the work of foreign artists. The text interprets the key theoretical treatises, reviewed responses and artists’ statements covering the domain of “contemporary painting to conceptual art”.
Increase of operation frequency of printed antennas
Havlík, Vojtěch ; Láčík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the design of a slot antenna integrated into a textile substrate. In the thesis, antennas operating at the frequency 5.8 GHz and 24.125 GHz (ISM bands) were designed. Functionality of the antennas was verified by simulation performed in the program CST Microwave Studio. The antennas consist of a textile integrated waveguide and a coplanar waveguide which adapts the waveguide characteristic impedance to 50 of the input coaxial connector. As a substrate, we used a 3D textile material.
The phenomenon of empty gallery
