The diploma thesis will devote to the progress of the phenomenon of the liberty in the modern period from Spinoza to Lévinas. The diploma thesis is mainly based on the major publications of philosophers, B. Spinoza, I. Kant, K. Jaspers, J.-P. Sartre, E. Levinas. The thesis focuses in the terms responsibility and liberty which assume different and more profound meaning in their philosophy. Baruch Spinoza connects the liberty with the independence, with the causal independece. The independent thing is the thing which is the source of own action. In this meaning we can say that only God is independent. Immanuel Kant presented the new dimension of the liberty in ethics which extended the solution of the etical philosophy. The person is the being who constructs the moral word from own liberty and accountable to himself or herself and the other people. Emphasis is placed on Karl Jaspers' major publication The Question of German Guilt. Philosophical Motifs in Czech Reflexive Lyrics of 1930's
Šimek, Petr ; Blažková, Miloslava (advisor) ; Hauser, Michael (referee)
Resume Diploma thesis Philosophical Motifs in Czech Reflexive Lyrics of 1930's. This discourse attempts to embrace philosophically the leading motifs (silence, death, time) in Czech reflexive poetry on the break of 1920's and 1930's as well as earliy thirties. It interprets the motif of silence as the silence of ens in the poems by Vladimir Holan. This silence reveals itself as ens of totality of being, as the silence of god, as the silent stimulus to writing poetry stemming from the difference between a thing and world ("Seyn"), as the silence concealingly revealing "Lichtung" - field of all appearing being. The silence is comprised in an exprience of anxiety where ens interprets oneself without being. The motif of death is philosophically analysed from the verses by Frantisek Halas. This analysis is focused on the relationship between the death, purpose of one's life and authentic existence arising from understanding of 'ens to death' as its very own alternative. The third part of the thesis is dedicated to philosophical interpretation of time in the poems by losef Hora. The time is qualitative, not quantitative. The perception of time is later on approaching to a notion of god and life. Significant similarities and parallels with the concept of time of Henri Bergson have been found in rendition of given...
Transformation of the values of the individual by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietsche and Søren Aabye Kierkegaard.
Kučerová, Zuzana ; Blažková, Miloslava (advisor) ; Hauser, Michael (referee)
Goal of this work is to show that the values in European and a traditional context could be transformed. I chose two philosophers F.Nietzsche and S.Kierkegaard where I can document this change. Just the two of them proved to be very important for the 20th century .In the main part of my work, I am describing and comparing the evolution of the axiological views of both philosophers. My study on existential philosophers includes topics such as freedom, sense of life, base of christianity, perception of human being. Nietzsche and Kierkegaard are philosophers who have a lot in common, but they would not get on well with each other. The things that they share are the same time what they deal with in a difááé=ferent way. They treat topics such as existence, futility, strength of faith. However Kierkegaard studies in depth existentialism, immersion in irrationality, desolation. In Nietzsche we can find the will of power, the nihilist opinions and the criticism of christianity.
Ideology of Liberalism, or Ideology after its own End
Korda, Tomáš ; Suša, Oleg (advisor) ; Hauser, Michael (referee)
The essay begins with Benjamin`s comprehension of truth and his method of constellation which aims to the truth. I connect the method to the act of naming, which I derive from comprehension of subject in German idealism. Method is necessary condition for very constellation of liberal ideology. Contemporary liberalism thus does not only symbolize time after "the end ideology", but even space of time, when the ideology acquire its own most effective form. "The truth became most effective form of lie." In this sense I continue in critique of postmodernism as the ideology of late capitalism. In fine I outline the way to postmodernism by force of "risk thinking" which remains faithful to dialectic. Solely immanent critique which is far from normative critique of postmodernism sets in motion rigid conditions caused by omnipresent ideology.
