Preliminary question raised by czech courts regarding jurisdiction pursuant to the Brussel I and Brussel I bis Regulation Abstract This thesis deals with jurisdiction in the Brussels I and Brussels I bis regulations. It primarily places the emphasis on an interpretation of the individual provisions of the regulation as governing the jurisdiction of the Court of Justice, in particular in the form of judgments in preliminary ruling procedure, focusing mainly on the preliminary rulings of Czech courts. The paper is divided into four chapters, preceded by a general introduction and completed with a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the development of preliminary rulings in European law, the harmonisation of its dualistic regulation from Articles 68 and 234 of the Treaty on Establishing the European Community in Article 267 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and a description of preliminary ruling procedure both before national courts and before the Court of Justice. The second chapter briefly analyses a selection of four of the most important pieces of case law which the Court of Justice has dealt with within the bounds of preliminary ruling procedure. Prosocial features of volunteers

The thesis describes the prosocial characteristics of the volunteers. Everyone who works in the social sphere should acquire the prosocial characteristics, as they form an integral part when working with people. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter is about the history of volunteerism. Characteristics of volunteering are described in the second chapter of the theoretical work. Prosocial behaviour, personality traits, altruism and empathy are described in the third chapter. The aim of this thesis was determine how different was the level of prosocial traits in terms of volunteers and people without any volunteer experience. Quantitative method was used to determine the necessary data. The technique of standardized questionnaire of twenty-one questions was used. The results of the research can be used to raise awareness about volunteering for both public and the professionals.

Questions without answer, answers without questions

This diploma work consists of two parts ? theoretical and practical. The theoretical part concerns on questions which accompany man since his childhood till the end of his life. It looks for answers for questions from different points of view. It looks at the problems from religious, scientific and historical points of view. It connects questions in the historical context. It gives ideas how to make these questions accessible for children. It uses digital photos for displaying the pictures which are further adjusted by using the computer graphics. It thinks over the texts and visual works dealing with the questions which accompany a man and with looking for answers. It focuses mainly on questions about life, the meaning of life, death, life after death, violence and the end of the world. It explains the term ? artist?s book?, it is concerned with the history of this visual media and main representatives dealing with making of artists? books. The aim of this work is to make an author?s book which would be stimulation for thinking of the questions and looking for the answers for them. This book would be created with the help of graphic techniques and on the basis of theoretical knowledge and comparing different points of view.
