The Impact of Local Social Pathology on the Value of Real Estate

The subject of this diploma thesis is a comparison of the influence of socially pathological phenomena on the price of a real estate and subsequent suggestion of solution of this problem. The social environment can have a negative or a positive effect on the real estate market, depending on the nature of its transformation. The location is characterized by physical, social and economic factors. One of the aims of this thesis is to capture and compare these impacts in a selected area of the city of Brno in local context. It focuses on socially pathological phenomena connected to crime and parameters that affect crime occurrence.

The Effect of Bariatric Operations on the Compensation of Diabetes Mellitus

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of obesity and diabetes mellitus in today's society. The theoretical part brings a closer look at the problem of obesity, the complications resulting from it and the possible ways of therapy. Further it discusses the problem of diabetes mellitus and the influence of obesity on diabetes mellitus type 2 that causes serious health complications. The thesis describes the treatment options of the mentioned diseases, especially focusing on lifestyle changes (dietary regimen, physical activity) and bariatric surgery that significantly contributes to weight reduction and reduction of complications risks. The practical part of the thesis deals with the research in this area, comparing a group of diabetic and non-diabetic patients undergoing the bariatric surgery. Competition clause in the CR and selected EU Member States

Non-competition clause in the Czech Republic and in chosen states of the European Union Resumé The employee has a duty of faithful service and is obliged not to compete with his employer in the course of their labour relationship. Once the relationship has come to an end, the employer could have interest to protect his business and his proprietary rights, such as a trade secret, a secret process, confidential information or customer connections, since the disclosure of them by his ex-employee could damage his business and his position in the labour market. That is the reason why the contractual parties conclude the non-competition clause (or restrictive covenant) within a contract of employment (or within a special contract) whereby the employee undertakes that he will accept a restraint about where he works and for whom, for a period of time after he has left the employment relationship. Generally the employer has a duty to pay monetary compensation in order to compensate such a restraint of the employee. Při sledování vlivu společnosti na jedince si většinou všímáme dvoustranných vztahů (dítě - rodina, dítě - škola), jež proces socializace provází. Vliv těchto institucí, skupin a dalších jedinců však není izolovaný, působí souběžně. Osobnost a její sociální pole (Sak, 2000) tvoří dialektickou jednotu. Změna sociálního pole má dopad na proces sociálního zrání a na sociální osobnost jedince. Změna v osobnosti má zase tendenci promítnout se do změny pole. Elementární sociální akty jedinců jsou nejen výpovědi o subj~ktech těchto sociálních aktll, ale též výpovědí o prvcích sociálního pole a o jeho celku. Rozborem procesu socializace jedinců tak můžeme usuzovat na stav celé společnosti. Tato práce ve své teoretické části podává výčet důležitých prvků, jež sociální zrání provázejí a ovlivňují jeho kvalitu. Zároveň si všímá historického vývoje, kterým prošlo dětství a analyzuje ho na pozadí problémll, které socializaci mohou doprovázet. V neposlední řadě se zmiňuje o jednom ze specifických typů pomoci v náročných situacích doprovázejících sociální zrání, která je dětem a mladým lidem k dispozici. Zabývá se tudíž i úlohou a postavením nestátního neziskového sektoru, který v procesu socializace zaujímá. Good Will in The World of Organizations Professionalization of the Olga Havel Foundation: A Case Study

The presented work aims to map the trends in the development and professionalization of foundations on the background of the civil society that was formed in the Czech Republic after 1989. It addresses the importance of endowment and appreciation of foundation assets in the long-term perspective and describes the circumstances that led to the creation of the Foundation Investment Fund (NIF). It also tries to follow the legislative and economic conditions for the development of the Czech endowment sector. In this sense the paper aims to bring some contribution to the civil society studies. Through a case study on The Committee of Good Will - The Olga Havel Foundation the thesis deals with the causes, effects and changes of the foundation's professionalization process. The research uses the means of internal and external document analysis, interviews with the foundation representatives and the method of participating observation. The effects of the professionalization process have manifested in personnel management changes (eg. recruitment of paid employees, hiring external professionals), project management changes and overall change in the scope of the foundation's activities. Prohibition of a competition in labour relations

This submitted thesis deals with a legal regulation of the prohibition of a competition in labour relations. The thesis is composed of six coherent chapters, the Fourth Chapter addressing the issue of current legal regulation applicable to prohibition of the competition in labour relations in the Czech Republic is the core part of the thesis. The purpose of the thesis is to analyse and to provide the comprehensive overview of the prohibition of the competition during the labour relation as well as after its termination (i.e. the non-competition clause). The thesis also briefly describes the legal concept of labour relations; the attention is also paid to the historical survey of the prohibition of the competition in labour relations. Furthermore, the thesis outlines the legal regulation of the prohibition of the competition in French and German labour systems. The main sources of information have been Czech and foreign publications, articles published in professional journals and court decisions. Due to the comparison of the various legal systems, the author has arrived to the conclusion that the legal regulations in all of the examined states are very similar, however some distinctions arising from the individuality of each state can be also found.
