Computer assisted development of a pneumatic electrospray nebulizer
Járvás, G. ; Szigeti, M. ; Grym, Jakub ; Foret, František ; Guttman, A.
In this study we demonstrate how computer simulations can assist the development of a novel microfabricated pneumatic electrospray nebulizer. The microdevice under consideration is designed for electrospray mass spectrometry interfacing without the need to fabricate an electrospray needle. This new interfacing strategy requires comprehensive evaluation of the differently designed chip layouts. The flow evaluation was supported by computational fluid dynamics simulations. It was proved with experimental validation of the simulation results that the developed models were practical tools for the numerical investigation of the separations-ESI-MS coupling.
Vývoj komoditní vertikály kukuřice v podmínkách České republiky
Grym, Jakub
The bachelor thesis deals with the development of maize commodity vertical in the Czech republic, evaluation of individual economic contexts, development of commodity price levels, international trade of maize. On the basis of the data, it assesses the position and structure of Czech maize growing in our country. The results of the work showed an increasing amount of balanced maize grains and a constant reference to the use of feed. For maize harvested with green and silage, the trend was to use corn for biogas, and same as corn for grain, it is still a link to feed.
Application of pressurized hot water for etching of microfluidics
Vašina, M. ; Grym, Jakub ; Foret, František
The subject of this study is a new method of glass etching and its application in microfluidics. Commonly, hydrofluoric acid is used for glass etching. In this study we have tested a new method of glass etching using pressurized hot water. Test motives were prepared using photolitography and metal sputtering on the glass substrate and the etching was performed in a newly developed device capable to compress and heat water to its critical point. Electron microscopy and profilometry have been used for analyzing the surface of the etched glass substrate.
Vývoj mikrofluidických analytických systémů pro elektrolýzu buněk
Grym, Jakub ; Svobodová, Ivona ; Klepárník, Karel ; Foret, František
Microfluidic devices are expected to speed up the progress in bioanalysis and separation sciences. Ideally, these Lab-on-chip systems integrate all steps of analysis on a one microdevice; however, before the integration, every single unit operation has to be first developed and tested separately. One of such important unit operations is the cell lysis and the following release of the cellular content.
