Doubek, Matyáš ; Fořterová, Petra (advisor) ; Gnad, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Evaluation of methodical program in skiing lectures amongst beginners Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate effectivity of methodical program used to teach skiers at beginner level. Methods: Participant observation and scaling was used to rate the performance of participants in unified test battery. Performed once before and once after the training given to the participants. We also used a poll survey to get additional information concerning the participants. Results: All of the participants scored better results in the second test battery performed after training they had been given. The methodical program has therefore been successful. The lowest advancement was achieved when testing stationary one-legged stance (0,85 points). Biggest average score difference was achieved while testing kick turn (1,2 points). Correspondingly 1,15 points was the average improvement in tests of gliding plough followed by stop and one-legged glide. Average 1,1 improvement was achieved while testing sided ski-skating. Keywords: skiing, ski course, middle school, test battery

Title: Comparison of activation the selected muscles during snowboarding on simulator and snow. Author: Bc. Adam Kubišta Supervisor: PaedDr. Tomáš Gnad Objective: This study aims to compare activation of selected muscles during basic skidded turn on snowboard on simulator and snow. Methods: Muscle activity was measured by a method called surface electromyography. The activation of selected muscles was examined using a comparative analysis. The timing of the participation of selected muscles during the basic skidded turn on snowboard on the Maxxtracks simulator and on the snow was compared. Results: This research with this method did not show a significant similarity in snowboarding on the Maxxtracks simulator and on the snow. The results of our work show the difference in timing of lower limb muscle participation on a snowboard during the basic skidded turn on the Maxxtracks simulator and on the snow. Each participant experienced a different participation of the observed muscles in the step cycle and no obvious movement pattern was discovered. Key words: Snowboarding, electromyography (EMG), muscle activation, simulator

Bilateral asymmetry of lower limb strength abilities in young snowboardcross athletes
Bohůnková, Marie ; Hank, Mikuláš (advisor) ; Gnad, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out the relationships between the performance of strength skills of the dominant and non-dominant lower limbs with respect to the preferred side of riding in snowboarders of different sexes at the racing level. Elite and sub-elite level snowboarders aged 19.16 ± 4.63 years (11 females and 9 males) participated in testing the isokinetic force in the knee joint and the isometric force in the hip joint. Data collection of isokinetic parameters of flexion strength and extension in the knee joint was performed on a Cybex Humac Norm isokinetic dynamometer (Cybex NORM®, Humac, CA, USA). Collection of isometric parameters of abduction force and adduction in the hip joint was performed by the ForceFrame systémem system (Vald Performance, Australia). The position on the snowboard affected the bilateral asymmetry of force in favor (p <0.05) of the dominant limb (front on the snowboard) in some parameters. The magnitude of the isokinetic force between the dominant and non-dominant limbs differed significantly (p <0.05) at extension in the male group, but not in the female group. Significance difference (p <0.05) was found for flexion only for male group. The dominant lower limb achieved a significantly higher (p <0.05) value of the isometric force of abduction in the...

Marková, Pavla ; Gnad, Tomáš (advisor) ; Louka, Oto (referee)
Abstract Title: The Comparison of Learning Processes of Snowboarding in the Czech Republic and in Norway Objectives: The aim of this work is to compare learning processes of snowboarding in the Czech Republic and in Norway. Methods: In our thesis we used a method of analysis of the document and a method of comparison. We have applied the method of analysis in each publication and the method of comparison in teaching methods. In the practical part we have used a method of inquiry and a method of field testing. Results: We found out that the methodological publications written in Czech Republic are very similar to each other. The Norwegian learning processes are different from the Czech ones by using of a method called Partner system and by the basic concept of training. The research showed that the width of the stance according to the Norwegian learning methods is not suitable for the beginners. On the contrary the stance with plus degree on the front foot and minus degree on the rear foot seems to be quite suitable. Keywords: partner system, stance, kinogram, instructor
