THE USE OF 3D TECHNOLOGY IN THE PUBLIC SPACE
Šebánek, Jan ; Medek, Tomáš (referee) ; Kristek,, Jan (referee) ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to define the impact of rapid prototyping technology in terms of creative potential to use this technology represents a particularly sculpture and architecture. Rapid Prototyping is a generic term covering a range of technologies: 3D scan converting the already realistic three-dimensional objects in computer memory, parametric modeling, which creates three-dimensional objects based on the formative algorithms, photogrammetry method of compiling three-dimensional object from a photo, technology, 3D printing materializing after each layer objects transferred from the computer's memory. When processing the theoretical work will be explored and discussed possibilities for realization of basic three-dimensional objects using 3D technology. The second step will be to map the different methods of access to artists working with 3D technology. In the end it tried to evaluate the benefits of these technologies in the field of sculpture and architecture in terms of traditional approaches. This paper attempts to describe the possible implications and potential of this progressive field in the classical artistic disciplines such as sculpture and architecture, both in terms of benefits and in terms of the eventual negative impact with respect to increasing the availability of this technology.
Grandfather
Auerová, Veronika ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
In my bachelor thesis I portray my grandfather as a life-size sculpture. The main emphasis is on the surface treatment of the sculpture, where I imitate the texturing process using photographs, which usually takes place in a virtual environment. The resultant statue is very lively, even naturalistic.
Implosion
Kliment, Jakub ; Šlegl, Josef (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
In this work, I deal with emergent shapes using deformation.       With this deformation technical element (which in this case are discarded barrels from fiberglass) resulting shapes and curves that give me a basis for further work with the object. So I transform seemingly technical object to object organic. Subsequent stacking barrels on each other and bridging transitions between drums, creates a compact shape and composition of the vertical nature of the organic character.    The vision of this column should be inspired by nature and vegetation. The column should reflect the steady shift and grow. Shapes obtained deformations are related shapes, which you can perceive in nature as such.

This thesis is focused on exploring and analyzing my native region and its surroundings. It is also continuing of my previous series of works that deal with this issue. The main objective is to move my personal knowledge and feelings about the local landscape. I was highly interested in what is under the surface of the Keprník Mountain. The intention was to create an object whose realization takes place in direct contact with this place. I chose rosin as a suitable material for this object because this material has the ability to maintain its transparency after drying and at the same time it is able to combine the individual elements of the soil from which it gets the essence as well as the shape. The whole process was documented on video which is part of the presentation of the object.
An Inner Portrait.
Kralovič, Ľubomír ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
In my bachelor's thesis I try to materialize a certain form of idea of a human figure. I started to be aware of this idea at the beginning of my study years when I was permanently confronted with a real human figure. In addition to trying to find a specific form of one's own idea, I have been also trying to model the detail observed from nature. To achieve this, I feel the need to know the internal structure of a figure, which I do through the anatomical studies of Gottfried Bammes. I use his anatomical knowledge to model the basic shape into a form of a figure, to some extent identical to his studies. I perceive this foundation as a kind of framework guiding my work. Under the influence of this, I apply my own idea of a human figure so that I achieve a natural detail through the process of creation.
Birth
Piskova, Olena ; Klímová, Barbora (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The thesis is a continuation of my subject, "Why?", Also includes the theme of man and the environment. I started to be interested in the controversial topic of genetically modified organisms, genetic engineering. I found a personal story in it. Now it is difficult to comment on the extent to which these researches are important, but we shouldn’t stop there.
Precarious Society
Schlosserová, Jana ; Lukášová,, Helena (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The installation is formed from the fifth sculptures, individuals, larger than life size. Their bodies are just shapes and surfaces, which leave place for the rest of the human form. The form is preserved only in black-and-white photography, in portraits, which are part of the sculptures. They ostensibly do nothing, like stopping in time. However they move, but for that move is neccessary initial impetus and it is the role of the viewer. Instability of sculptures is an expression of the unstable position of the human beings in today's society (the origin of instability). Sculptures creates society thanks for their quantity, community and contact.
FILL THE VOID
Pavlacký, Tomáš ; Kořínek, David (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
I CREATED A SCULPTURE, WHICH IS A MATERIALISATION OF A DIGITAL MISTAKE, THAT IS CALLED DATAMOSH. FOR THE CREATION I USED CURRENT 3D TECHNOLOGIES. THE RESULT IS A SCULPTURE MADE OF PLASTER, POLYSTYRENE AND WOOD.
The Fragile Line
Tůmová, Helena ; Kovanda, Jiří (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The project of my diploma thesis Fragile Line is a continuation of my bachelor thesis Limits of Normality in which I compiled part of the drawn black and white imaginary world of a 10-year old boy Jára with Asperger syndrome and created its colourful 3D visualisation. Fragile Line is for me some imaginary border between the real world and Jára`s fictional world. In my diploma work I created three planets from Jára`s space system, intentionally I used different technology and range of colours for each of them because children like disparity and variety.
