The Necessity of the Baptism for Salvation in the Light of the Document of ITC
Gál, Miroslav ; Mohelník, Tomáš (advisor) ; Brož, Prokop (referee)
In the Diploma thesis entitled "The Necessity of the Baptism for Salvation in the Light of the Document of ITC" in terms of the document of ITC "The Hope of Salvation for Infants Who Die without Being Baptized" and on the base of the selected parts of the Holy Scripture, magisterial, theological, liturgical texts questions about the necessity of the baptism for salvation of infants and adults are discussed. The baptism is the proper way for all people to be saved. The history of salvation is christocentric; everything is focused on Christ and, vice versa Christ turns to every man, accepts every man. Therefore, one can suppose that for every adult who cannot make an explicit decision for Christ, this Christ acceptation together with its implicit decision is enough for its salvation. On the other side, church prays for those infants who died without being baptized and who could not make neither explicit nor implicit decision for Christ. There are sufficient theological reasons to suppose that these infants will be saved because Christ has accepted also all these children.
The Roman Catholic Church and the Human Rights
Gál, Miroslav ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Matějek, Marek (referee)
ENGLISH ANNOTATION The Roman Catholic Church and the Human Rights (Bachelor Theses) In this work questions about human rights and freedom are briefly discussed. Two conceptions of the nature of human rights and freedom are characterized. The first one and older one is based on Jewish Christian tradition of creation of mankind. The second one also called antropocentric has its root in Antic age but its development is closely connected with French revolution and independence of the USA. Historical and contemporary relations of Roman Catholic Church to the idea of human rights and freedom form a main part of this bachelor theses. The contrast between Charter of the Rights of Catholics in the Church and encroach on human rights in the Catholic Church is also discussed. Key words: Human Rights; Freedom; Roman Catholic Church; Antropocentric and Jewish Christian Tradition; Encroach on Human Rights
Characterization and Analytical Application of Cobalt Pyridinoporfyrazinate as a Non-Platinum Mediator in Hydrogen Electrocatalysis
Klusáčková, Monika ; Nesměrák, Karel (advisor) ; Opekar, František (referee) ; Gál, Miroslav (referee)
This work reports on the cobalt pyridinoporphyrazinate (CoTmtppa) as a platinum-group metal-free catalyst for hydrogen evolution and oxidation reactions with the possibility of use in hydrogen energy and hydrogen potentiometric sensing. A different interaction of CoTmtppa with various electrode substrates, highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) and annealed gold (Au(111)), affects its electrocatalytic behaviour in hydrogen reactions. The formation of a hydride-type complex with the bonding of hydrogen atoms to cobalt centre is supposed to be the rate-determining step. In the case of hydrogen evolution, the maximum catalytic activity of mediator was reached at pH = 11,0, when the HOPG/CoTmtppa showed overpotential decrease by 300 mV and an almost 60-fold increase of current densities compared to HOPG. The electrocatalytic activity of Au(111)/CoTmtppa resulted in a further decrease of overpotential by 175 mV in comparison with HOPG/Co(I)Tmtppa. The electrochemical oxidation of hydrogen was found to depend on hydrogen source which was electrochemically generated on-site or molecular hydrogen supplied from an external source. In the case of electrochemically generated hydrogen, the maximum activity of HOPG/CoTmtppa was reached at pH = 2.1 and an additional it was observed 50 % increase in current...
Time-resolved potentiometry on liquid-liquid interface
Mansfeldová, Věra ; Nesměrák, Karel (advisor) ; Opekar, František (referee) ; Gál, Miroslav (referee)
Věra Mansfeldová: Time-resolved potentiometry on liquid-liquid interface (Dissertation thesis) Abstract The aim of this work is to explore the method of temporal resolution in potentiometry as a new prospective electrochemical analytical technique. In connection with interface of two immiscible electrolyte solutions (ITIES) it may find utilization in analytical chemistry. This technique up to my knowledge has not been published yet. Potential response of analyte on liquid/liquid interface includes both distribution processes, their temporal resolution and redox processes, which specificity can modified by changing the composition of individual phases. Unlike "classic" potentiometric techniques, limited just to potential determination, this method, which I have given the working name "time resolved potentiometry at liquid-liquid interface" utilizes time development of potential response, which was found to be an analyte-specific function. The time resolved potentiometry presented in this work includes time course of potential response to analytical parameters specific for particular analyte. It brings series of data characterizing the analyte in given environment in a similar manner as spectra and may allow creating analyte-specific data package - fingerprint. Combination with ITIES allows, unlike...

The Adsorption of Phospholipids at the Interface
Sokolová, Romana ; Kocábová, Jana ; Parisová, Martina ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Gál, Miroslav
The adsorption of phospholipids on different types of substrate was studied. The adsorbate-surface interactions play an important role in the formation of supported phospholipid bilayer. The deposition of phospholipids on atomically flat surfaces as mica, gold(111), highly oriented graphite and rough surface of polycarbonate membrane is compared. The supported phospholipids bilayer covers some small defects (5 – 30 nm deep) present in rough polycarbonate membrane.
Electrochemistry of Potential Eu MRI Complexes
Gál, Miroslav ; Sokolová, Romana ; Kielar, P.
Properties of the several potential contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with Eu(III)/Eu(II) redox couple were investigated by means of the electrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammetry, phase sensitive AC voltammetry, and DC polarography were utilized to elucidate the mechanism of the reduction/oxidation of Eu ion in the presence of these compounds. Moreover, the stability constants of the Eu(II)-MRI agent complexes were also determined. Some suggestions on the chemical structure of the potential contrast agents for MRI are also made.
Properties of some radiosensitizers studied by means of the electrochemical methods
Gál, Miroslav ; Kolivoška, Viliam ; Ambrová, M. ; Híveš, J. ; Sokolová, Romana ; Hromadová, Magdaléna
To determine the correlation between reduction potential and some physicochemical properties of selected radiosensitizers cyclic voltammetry and theoretical calculations based on the DFT method with B3LYP functional of the level of 6-311++G** basis set in vacuum were utilized. Very good correlation was found between electron affinities of radiosensitizers and their reduction potential and so called E1(7) potential.
Electrochemistry of selected radiosenzitizer-etanidazole
Gál, Miroslav ; Híveš, J. ; Sokolová, Romana ; Hromadová, Magdaléna ; Kocábová, Jana ; Kolivoška, Viliam ; Pospíšil, Lubomír
The first electron transfer to radiosensitizer etanidazole (ETN) and ETN radical anion formation in buffered aqueous media was studied by means of voltammetric techniques and Electrochemical Impendance Spectroscopy (EIS). The heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant for the first reduction of ETN (radical anion production) k0 for the redox couple and so called E1,7 potential were calculated. The obtained values of k0 and E1,7 potential indicate that ETN compared to some other possible chemical radiosensitizers requires lower energy to accept the first electron during metabolic pathway.
