The influence of managers past in social services in to their profession.

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the professional past of managers in social services and its influence on the performance of managerial profession. In my thesis I'm dealing with those workers who are currently working in managerial positions and previously worked as social workers. I am interested about how their professional past influenced the performance of their managerial function and how these managers get new managerial competencies. In the theoretical part, I mainly deal with the competencies of social workers, the competencies of managers and then I compare them. I also deal with the acquisition of managerial competencies. In the practical part, I describe the methodology of research surveys and present the results I have reached. The main method is a qualitative research survey using a semi-structured interview. A supplementary method is a quantitative research survey using a questionnaire. In the discussion, I compare these results with available resources. Finally, I reflect the fulfillment of the goals of my thesis and make recommendations.
Social enterprise from the perspective of employees with disabilities

Social economy is a widely discussed topic in the Czech Republic and other states at the moment. This is mainly thanks to its positive impact on the employment of disadvantaged persons and their integration into the society, which is in many cases very difficult and the state fails to provide for it. The support for disadvantaged persons and their entering open job market is still struggling and the tools that the engaged parties try to use do not always work. Social enterprise is one of the possible solutions to this problem. The thesis's theoretical part outlines the topic of social enterprise taking into account both external (legislation, funding, legal forms) and internal (disadvantaged persons employment specifics, organizational culture, employees mentoring and development) factors that affect the way social enterprises work. The practical part uses qualitative research to focus on the opinions of persons with disabilities and executives on the development of social enterprises employees and their possible transfer to the open job market. Falls as an Indicator of Quality of Care in Social Organization

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of falls among the elderly placed in residential social care facilities. The author mainly focuses on the issue whether the falls can be viewed as a quality indicator of the offered care. The author deals with the issue of falls both on the general level (legislation, standards of quality) and also on the level of a specific residential social care provider represented by home for the elderly Sue Ryder in Prague. Further, the author deals with the issue of falls in inpatient healthcare facilities, as this issue is viewed as an important indicator in terms of comparing quality of care between social care and health care facilities. The key issue of the thesis are the ways to prevent falls of the elderly, so that their basic rights (especially the right to have their own choice), independence and self- sufficiency can be maintained, and also the intervention procedures in these cases. The aim of the thesis is to provide its readers with suggestions on how to improve quality of healthcare in terms of dealing with falls. Evaluating the effectiveness the social services sheltered housing

The theme of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the social services sheltered housing. Due to demographic developments, increasing demand for social services and increasing spending in the social sector, the effectiveness of social services will be an increasingly important topic. We can assume, that because of to these factors, there will be more pressure on social services to prove their results. This study talks about theoretical concepts of effectiveness and defines the concept of effectiveness, which could be applied in social services. The work summarizes the models of measuring effectiveness in selected countries, including the Czech Republic, and specifies the concept of effectiveness in the Carlsbad region, in which sheltered housing social services are provided. The work also defines the term "the need" of the users of the social services and presents models, that can identify those needs. The part, that determines the effectiveness of social services, is in the research section. The Evaluation Process of Employees in the Organizational Body of Funded Organizations

The thesis consists of a case study and focuses on the processes of assessment, training and remuneration of employees in the organizational component of a budgetary organization. The introductory part focuses on the opinion of experts on human resources management with emphasis on the areas studied. Special emphasis is placed on the evaluation process, its methods, evaluation criteria, classification, evaluator's personality and the course of evaluator's meeting with the person who is being assessed. We also focused on training and remuneration - processes following the evaluation. Concerning educational issues, we were interested in the opinions of professionals focusing on identifying the needs of training, its planning and results evaluation. Remuneration was viewed as one of the most effective tools to motivate employees in connection with the transfer of assessment to the remuneration. The application part of the thesis introduces in-depth analysis of the current levels of the evaluation process and the processes connected with it - training and remuneration of employees in the selected organization. A successful adaptation, gaining self-esteem and managing the scope of activities specified for the given work position requires an efficiently set up induction process that takes into account organizational needs, needs of employee groups and individual needs of new staff members. The dissertation deals with the issue of guest workers in the home with special regime. The work consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with human resource management, as described in the literature. The essential question is to link a system of evaluation in the Organization, with the achievement of mission and objectives of the organization. The work focuses on the links between performance management and evaluation of staff. Sheltered housing for people with physical disabilities

Diplomová práce "Chráněné bydlení pro osoby s fyzickým postižením" se věnuje aspektům, které zasahují do vzniku a úspěšného poskytování této služby. Jedná se o aktuální otázku, která je v souladu s cíli probíhajícího procesu transformace sociálních služeb, který směřuje k individualizaci sociální péče a přechodu ke komunitnímu typu pobytových služeb s důrazem na sociální začlenění uživatelů, což by služba chráněného bydlení měla pomoci naplnit. Prvotním záměrem práce bylo prozkoumat využití, případně absenci, metodických materiálů ve vztahu k chráněnému bydlení a na základě těchto zjištění navrhnout jejich úpravy či doplnění. Dále nahlédnout do důvodů, které způsobují nedostatek chráněného bydlení pro osoby s fyzickým postižením oproti možnostem pro osoby s postižením mentálním. Data byla sbírána prostřednictvím hloubkových rozhovorů s poskytovateli chráněného bydlení (či jejich zástupci) a analyzována dle principů kvalitativního výzkumu pomocí otevřeného, axiálního a selektivního kódování. V průběhu sběru a analýzy dat vyplynulo, že poskytovatelé metodické materiály příliš nevyužívají a neudávali tedy jejich výrazný dopad na praxi. Change management in social services Reorganization of the Asylum house St. Terezie (case study)

The thesis work deals with the management of change processes in social services in the context of social and economic changes in postmodern society. The work has the character of a case study. The theoretical part defines the capacity of social services in the Czech Republic. The author explains the tension between lack of resources and quality outputs, as real reality, in which social service providers are located. She pays attention to the reflection of the future development of social services in the struggle of continuity through change management. The practical part presents the implementation of change in the organization that provides social services for the homeless. The author proposes changes as organizational- personnel performance tuning of employees in relation to financial resources. Results of the changes are evaluated by comparing the analysis before the change and after the change. The analysis before the change is made by an independent evaluation of the organizational processes and defining of critical points in the continuity analysis of documents and SWOT analysis. Difficulties arising from individual planning in a particular old people's home

This diploma thesis analyzes the current situation of the individual planning of social services in a particular home for the elderly. It attempts to focus on uncovering the causes of partial failures in the individual planning process from the perspective of key employees. Therefore, the main research question of this diploma thesis is: "What are the problematic aspects of individual planning in a particular home for the elderly?" The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is focused on the legislative basis for the social services, including a definition of home services for the elderly, quality of social services, principles and specifics of individual planning with the elderly, and the role of the key employee in the system of individual planning during the provision of social services. In the introduction of the empirical part, the choice of qualitative research strategy has been justified where the technique of collecting data was described, units of the research were defined, the main research question was operationalized, and the research organization was described.
