Application of the Three-Body Problem in the form of exercises
Kolář, Karel ; Šolc, Martin (advisor) ; Franc, Tomáš (referee)
The main topic of this work is the Restricted Three-Body Problem (R3BP) which is illustrated by solving several examples and by simulations in computational system Wolfram Mathematica. The aim is to offer supplemetary material for university students and it can be used also as introduction to this topic for high school students. The first part is dedidated to history of celestial mechanics and to the people who contributed to the development of the R3B Problem. The second chapter consists of simplier tasks with definitions of basic quantities and variables and revision of the undisturbed two-body problem. Subsequent chapters are concentrated to Lagrange points, Jacobi integral, Hill surfaces, tidal force, Tisserand criterion, shape and evolution of close binary stars and other partial tasks.
Defining the exponential function and logarithm
Franc, Tomáš ; Bárta, Tomáš (advisor) ; Veselý, Jiří (referee)
In this diploma thesis we will introduce six de nitions of the natural exponential function and ve de nitions of the natural logarithmic function. We will prove the de nitions' correctness, derive basic properties of both funcions and show the equivalence of all de nitions for each function. We will see how these funcions are de ned in some textbooks for universities and in textbooks for grammar schools. We will discuss the bene ts and drawbacks of all de nitions and will use the criteria such as required theory and difficulty or length of proofs. At the end of the thesis we will make some recommendations regarding de ning these functions at high schools and universities and we will give several suggestions for an additional research.
Selected gravitational effects in the Universe
Franc, Tomáš
Title: Selected gravitational effects in the Universe Author: Mgr. Tomáš Franc Department: Astronomical Institute of Charles University Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Marek Wolf, CSc., Astronomical Institute of Charles University Abstract: In this Thesis we have given an overview of tidal phenomena with their explanations and also explained the gravitational assist with examples of its use. We have created many pictures and 17 animations for better understanding of these topics. This part of the Thesis is focused on high school students and their teachers, it can be used by teachers for their inspiration for lessons, or students and more generally people interested in these topics can read this part as a study text. The main part of the Thesis is the result of research conducted on 13 high schools in the Czech Republic. 800 students took part in the research; its purpose was to find out students' knowledge of tidal phenomena and the gravitational assist. The research was carried out in the form of questionnaires. Keywords: gravity, tidal phenomena, gravitational assist, pedagogical research
Participation of barrister in preliminary proceeding
Franc, Tomáš ; Heranová, Simona (advisor) ; Mulák, Jiří (referee)
Participation of barrister in preliminary proceeding Abstract (ENG) The right of defense I one of the fundamental human rights and one of the most important rights connected with the right to judicial and other protection granted to each person by the Charter of fundamental rights and freedoms. The right of defense includes the right of everyone to defend himself, the right for proceeding of law enforcement authorities, which will ascertain the real situation without reasonable doubt and in particular the right to have and to consult with the barrister. Pursuant to section 35 subsections 1 of the code of criminal procedure, only an attorney, who can be represented by a trainee for individual acts of criminal proceedings, may be the barrister in criminal proceedings. The code of criminal procedure presupposes that the person, which is prosecuted, chooses his or her barrister. In the event that the barrister is not chosen by the accused, although he must have him according to the law, the barrister will be appointed for the duration of the reasons for the necessary defense. Cases of necessary defense are laid down in section 36 of the code of criminal procedure. They are for example proceedings against and accused in custody or proceedings against a fugitive. Barrister's basic rights and obligations are laid...
