Magnetické vlastnosti struktur vytvořených touto metodou a lom spinových vln mezi doménami s odlišným směrem magnetické anisotropie byly změřeny pomocí mikroskopie Brillouinova rozptylu světla.

High pressure on the development of new magnetic materials and their miniaturization also emphasizes the development of new analytical techniques. This diploma thesis deals with the development and demonstration of correlated magnetic force and electron microscopy, which is a promising tool for the characterization of magnetic nanomaterials. The first part of this thesis describes the fundamental physics of micromagnetism with a focus on cylindrical nanofibers. The following pages describe optic, probe, electron, and synchrotron methods for mapping the magnetic properties of materials. The next part describes magnetic domain wall motion in cylindrical nanowires performed as a part of a more extensive material study. The last part of the thesis describes the development of correlated magnetic force and electron microscopy on LiteScope device. A production of magnetic probes was designed and successfully tested. Probes were fabricated by focused electron beam-induced deposition from the Co2(CO)8 precursor. Further, the developed correlated microscopy is demonstrated on a multilayer PtCo sample, magnetic cylindrical nanofibers, NiFe vortex structures, and FeRh metamagnetic nano-islands.

Na základě fázově rozlišené Brillouinovy spektroskopie jsme získali disperzní relaci spinových vln v tomto systému a tím i důležité parametry systému. Pozorování podkládáme mikromagnetickými simulacemi a analytickými modely.

Dispersion relation of magnonic crystals with nontrivial spatial distribution of magnetic anisotropy
Wojewoda, Ondřej ; Hamrle,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Flajšman, Lukáš (advisor)
Magnonics is a novel field of research dealing with the physics of spin waves, which are collective excitations of a magnetization. Magnonic crystals, the basic building blocks of magnonic circuits, allow extended control over the spin-wave dispersion. The periodic structure of magnonic crystals results in the formation of a complex band structure with a gap of forbidden frequencies. Periodic structures are conventionally prepared by a local modulation of material thickness or by a step change of saturation magnetization. The presented work deals with the theoretical verification of dispersion relations of magnonic crystals, where the periodicity of the system is achieved by the modulation of the direction of uniaxial magnetic anisotropy and by continuous change of saturation magnetization. For a better insight into the propagation of spin waves in a material with non-homogeneous magnetic properties, a theory describing the refraction and reflection of spin waves at the interface is presented and further verified by numerical simulations.
Magnetic properties of materials based on metastable Fe-Ni thin films
Křižáková, Viola ; Uhlíř, Vojtěch (referee) ; Flajšman, Lukáš (advisor)
Metastable Fe78Ni22 thin films grown on Cu(100) substrates are known for their capability of structural and magnetic phase transition upon ion beam irradiation. This thesis focuses on characterization of magnetic properties of FeNi layers with the emphasis on their anisotropic behaviour. An analytical model describing magnetic anisotropies, in planar structures and thin films, and its modification for Fe78Ni22/Cu(100) system is described in the theoretical part. In the experimental part, the anisotropy of ion-beam-transformed FeNi structures is thoroughly studied. The transformed films and patterns exhibit four-fold magnetic anisotropy originating from bcc iron crystal structure. Further, the possibility of modification of the magnetic anisotropy type by selecting a proper focused ion beam scanning strategy during the transformation is demonstrated. In the last part of the thesis, the maximum achievable lateral resolution of focused ion beam transformed structures is explored and a prototypical magnonic crystal is prepared.
Vectorial Kerr magnetometry
Flajšman, Lukáš ; Veis,, Martin (referee) ; Urbánek, Michal (advisor)
Increased complexity of novel magnetic materials in the last decade has placed high demands on the manufacturing process as well as on the characterization. One of the possibilities for characterization of magnetic samples is to exploit the magneto-optical effects. The presented work uses the magneto-optical Kerr effect as a major characterization technique to probe the magnetic properties of samples. We have developed a mathematical model describing the effect of the magnetization on the polarized light and present an apparatus capable of measuring the response given by the light-matter interaction. The experimental results show the performance of the apparatus on the various magnetic systems including meta-stable iron layers, Stoner-Wohlfarth particles and magnetic vortices. The scanning vectorial Kerr magnetometer allowed us to probe the vector of magnetization with diffraction limited resolution below 500 nm.

This bachelor's thesis deals with magneto-optic effects with special aim for magneto-optic Kerr effect. Presented description allows us to quantify magneto-optical observables on the basis of measuring the light intensity after the reflection from sample surface. Consequently, we use a simple physical model to unriddle the origin of the optical anisotropy induced by the external magnetic field. In the part, that deals with the design of an aparatus for measuring magneto-optical Kerr effect in longitudinal conformation, we provide necessary information to define a device capable of measuring magneto-optic observables in micro/nano scale. Last chapter i aimed to the achieved results on the thin Co films and on magnetic vortices with lateral dimensions of 1 m.
