Integration of Russian-German (Late-) Resettlers in Nord Rhine-Westphalia
Ilyushina, Natalya ; Nigrin, Tomáš (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
The thesis examines the issue of integration of the Russian-German (late)resettlers (so-called (Spät-)Aussiedler)) in North Rhine-Westphalia. There was a significant German minority living for several centuries in the territory of the former Russian Empire. Two world wars lead in the perspective of German minority in Russia to discrimination, mass detentions, deportations or years of working in Soviet forced labor colonies. After the end of Cold War conflict, resulting in the collapse of the Soviet Union and opening the frontiers, legal bases for their return back to old fatherland were established. However, subsequently with an arrival of these Germans from Russia was proved that this group of repatriated immigrants also requires a special assistance attitude in terms of the integration measures. The main purpose of this paper lies therefore in analysing the integration policies of Russian-German (Spät-)Aussiedler. Other aims are focused on the clarification of how effective were the rehabilitation measures that had been implemented so far; what trends can be observed in the integration policy since 2005/ 2007 as well as what kind of the problems are to be solved. A significant part of the thesis represents an analysis of statistical data based on specific integration indicators allowing to assess...

Vietnamese Community in Germany 1990 - 1995
Do Thu, Trang ; Nigrin, Tomáš (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
The Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) in the 70`s adopted and successfully integrated the boat people, who fled from war in Vietnam. On the contrary, the German Democratic Republic (GDR) had adopted in the 80`s tens of thousands of factory workers from several socialist countries, including Vietnam. Hence this, the fall of the Berlin Wall deepened the differences in the integration of these two groups. While the former "boat people" lived a decent life, their "East German" compatriots waited years for the allocation of permits to stay and faced the attacks of right-wing extremists. However, the era after the German reunification had also brought many opportunities to start a business freely and independently, even to start a family. This thesis clearly describes the different developments within the Vietnamese community in Germany between the years of 1990-1995, which stemmed precisely from the different conditions of emigration from Vietnam. The first part focuses mainly on the characterization of the Vietnamese workers in the GDR and the boat people. This allows comparing the different integration of both groups in other chapters. In contrast, the other ones deal with the specific issues that affected the Vietnamese community in years 1990-1995. Especially, the political struggle for the status of former...
Labour Immigration of Turks to Germany and the Developement of German Immigration and Integration Policy
Dumont, Anna ; Kučera, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
My Bachelor's thesis, "Labour Immigration of Turks to Germany and the Development of German Immigration and Integration Policy" deals with Turkish guest workers' arrival and subsequent settlement in Germany and the conditions they have been living in. The first part of my thesis is devoted to the evolution of Turkish labour immigration and a discussion of its influence on and co-evolution with German immigration and integration policy. The second part is addressed to the acceptance shown by the majority of Germany society of contemporary Turkish immigrants' integration and uses as examples the development of two important public or human rights. The first of these rights is freedom of religion, which contains both freedom of religion at school, and the right to build mosques in German cities. The second is the right to political participation for Turkish residents who are either German citizens or who have permanent residency, but not citizenship. The thesis tries to answer the questions of how successful integration has been and whether or not Germany has found the right balance between democratic values and the cultural diversity brought by having a large Muslim minority. The thesis as well touches on the biggest problems of the second and third generations of Turkish immigrants which are a lack of...
Image of the Other - Czechs in German Carricatures
Raková, Pavlína ; Emler, David (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
The thesis focuses on the image of Czechs in German caricatures. The image of Czechs is researched on caricatures through historical timeline consisting of milestones of Czech- German relationship. The first chapter focuses on Czech-German tension from times of Badeni's language ordinances to Ann's patents. Furthermore, the image of Czechs is investigated in period of Great War. The focus is primarily on the rise of independent Czechoslovakia because main hypothesis states that the image of Czechs was intensified after this event. The next researched time period is year 1933 as Nazi party took over. The last researched period is time period 1937-1939. The focus is on death of T. G. Masaryk. The thesis is complemented by Austrian caricatures which aim to extend the image of Czechs by Austrian view. The Austrian image of Czechs is then compared to German one. Analysis is made through image analysis of German and Austrian caricatures. The research is done on 35 historical caricatures and is supported by secondary literature. The caricatures were picked from major satirical-humoristic magazines such as Simplicissimus, Kladderadatsch, Fliegende Blätter, Kikeriki and Figaro.
Use of noninvasive pulmonary ventilation in pre-hospital emergency care
FILIPOVÁ, Lucie
Non-invasive pulmonary ventilation is a method that is commonly used in hospital care and is often the last way to avoid invasive airways in selected conditions. Despite the benefits it has for the indicated pacients, it is only exceptionally used in pre-hospital care and for some paramedics it is a method which they have little experience with. Likewise, their personal practice knowledge is often made up of only a few applications of non-invasive ventilation in a hospital. In my work I tried to create a comprehensive summary of information, which could help to unify non-medical healthcare personnel and at the same time to extend their knowledge in the issue, which is more discussed in the largest chapter of the theoretical part of this work. The aim of the work was to map the use of non-invasive pulmonary ventilation in pre-hospital urgent care in the South Bohemian Region and Vysočina Region and to find out about awareness of the health rescuers in selected regions. These objectives were implemented by a qualitative method through semi-structured interviews. The research showed that the use of the method in pre-hospital emergency care is not very widespread; that is is due to minimal experience and insufficient education of medical and paramedical staff. The awareness of paramedics about this issue is generally superficial. Most of their knowledge is made up only of personal experience that has been gained in use and is no longer expanded and coherent. This work could be further used as study material for non-medical healthcare staff.
