Use of Porous Aluminium Oxide Interbody Cages for Interbody Fusion of the Cervical Spine
Kostyšyn, Roman ; Česák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Hrabálek, Lumír (referee) ; Filip, Michal (referee)
Use of porous aluminum oxide interbody cages for interbody fusion of the cervical spine Introduction: Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is one of the most commonly used methods of surgical treatment for degenerative disease of the cervical spine. The primary goal of the surgery is to decompress the nerve structures. A secondary but equally important goal of the surgery is to provide intervertebral fusion as a prevention of subsequent instability or deformity. The selection of the optimal cage for disc replacement in ACDF takes into account the requirements for the speed and quality of interbody fusion and places demands on its safety. Aims: The objective of this prospective randomized monocentric study was to evaluate the speed and quality of interbody fusion of implanted porous aluminium oxide (Al2O3) cages, and compare with parameters of fusion of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) cages for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). Another aim was to compare the clinical results. Methods: A total of 111 patients were enrolled in the study. The 18-month follow-up was completed in 68 patients with an Al2O3 cage and 35 patients with a PEEK cage in one-level ACDF. Initially, the first evidence (initialization) of fusion was evaluated on computed tomography. Subsequently, interbody fusion...
Use of Mapleson C breathing system in pre-hospital care.
FILIP, Michal
The theoretical part describes the physiology of a human's respiratory tract. The next part focuses on the history of ventilation, non-invasive ventilation and its basic ventilation modes. Then it focuses on Mapleson´s systems, their advantages and disadvantages, then it focuses on Mapleson C, which is a priority for this work. Next is the instruction manual and in the last chapters we will discuss an acute situations in pre-hospital care, where Mapleson C can be used and important laws to clarify whether a paramedic can use this system or not. The practical part is processed by using a quantitative questionnaire which is completed by 38 paramedics and doctors in the South Bohemia region. The first goal of the work was to find out a knowledge about the safe use of this system. The second goal was to find out if the use of Mapleson C by a paramedic is correct with current legislation. The result of this thesis shows how high the level of information about Mapleson C system is. It shows its advantages, disadvantages and justifies why it is rarely used in practice. This work could serve as a protocol for the use of Mapleson C, which would be available to all paramedics.

I present, in six chapters, basic patterns of use and kinds of cold weapons, described chronologically in concord with their history. I also study the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. The major contribution of the thesis is acquiring basic knowledge from history, technical development and also the reasons of various changes and presentation of the weapon as artifact of its individual value. I also offer a picture of history and its sense and accompany it with cold weapons understood as a means of expressing important social concepts. Key words:  War, weapon, mobilization, work

TITLE: Weapon as a work of art. With focus on problems of specific weapons identity and interpretation of weapon as feature AUTHOR: Tomáš Schartel DEPARTMENT: Institute for professional development, faculty of education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Ondřej Sýkora ABSTRACT: The purpose of this bachelory diploma is to present a weapon as a mean of hunting or fighting, as well as the masterpiece, which says a lot about a person who created it. The creator gave to each weapon himself, didn't he? He had to be a good craftsman but he had to have art feeling too. Some people said the weapon had a magic power, according to others it wasn't difficult to recognize their owner. A long time ago the typical weapon was a sword which the kings and knights used to show their power. The sword as the most important weapon of medieval fighter, was very efficient and it was used for fighting at close range. The sword wasn't only the symbol of war but also the sign of prior role in society. But we can't only see the sword as a weapon. Sovereigners handed over the sword to each other as a symbol of reign leaving. The sword was a symbol of faith at the time of crusade when its shape was taken as a cross. The contribution of the bachelory diploma is acquisition of basic knowledges from the history of development and establishment the variety...

Title: Art education, Creativity and Society Author: Michal Filip Department: Department of Art Education Supervisor: doc. PaedDr. Pavel Šamšula, CSc. Abstract: The dissertation addresses the issue of creativity in art education. The theoretical part of the work first explains the general foundation of the social context, which plays a key role in education focused on the development of creativity. The author outlines the historical roots of the relationship between art education and creativity against the background of emerging interest in creativity in the subject of drawing in the Czechoslovak Republic in the 1920s. Using key historical milestones in the field of art education, the work looks back at the period of "intense interest in art education and creativity" between the 1960s and 1980s in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. On the basis of an evaluation of art education experts, the theoretical part of the work highlights the perceived problems that arose in the implementation of creativity training as part of art education. The selected aspects of the self-evaluation conducted by schools on creativity in art education and reflections on the cross-cultural contexts of creativity chart contemporary issues in the given subject. Special attention is devoted to a definition of the term "creativity"....
