The use of Steam Turbines
Kissler, Martin ; Vojáčková, Jitka (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to present the development of steam turbines from their construction to the detailed description of one of the major representatives of the modern turbines. The introduction of my thesis focuses on the historical development of the first turbines and their division according to the basic aspects. It is followed by a description of the use of steam turbines to generate electricity, for driving machines and for use in heating plants. The conclusion of my thesis is a detailed description of the turbines located on Nuclear Power Plant. To the description is added a simplified calculation.
Cogeneration
Krčálová, Petra ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes the design of CHP (combined heat and power) co-generation unit for a particular object. The first part of the thesis is a theoretical introduction to the importance of co-generation it’s advantages and / or disadvantages, the possibilities of it’s use and description of the technology of co-generation plants. The second part of the thesis contains the entire design of cogeneration unit for several different types of the coverage of energy needed. The economic evaluation was used (with prices paid for individual energies are determined by the ERU for 2013 and 2014) to select the most suitable type of the co-generation unit and therefore the best investment.
Steam Turbine for fossil power plant - MP LP casing
Třináctý, Jan ; Weber, Norbert (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of a condensing steam turbine with reheating for fossil power plant. The turbine is a double parts. The first casing is formed by a simple HP casing. The second casing is combined MP-LP casing with axial outlet of steam into the water-cooled condenser. Feedwater regeneration system consists of two high-pressure heaters, the four low-pressure heaters and feed tank. In thesis is includes the calculation of heat balance and the draft of flow channel of HP and MP-LP casing. Next is a detailed calculation of MP-LP casing with includes calculation of flowing part, selection of blade´s profiles and its stress control. Rotor MP-LP casing is checked for torsion and computed size of the critical speed. Clutch is ispected by security check and draft radial bearings. Stress control casing is carried out according to the theory of thick shells. Work includes flow scheme for 100% and 75% performance. In the end is comparing the efficiency of the individual casing of the turbine with the work 3b together with the specific heat consumption. Work includes a longitudinal section of the MP-LP casing. This thesis has been developed in cooperation Škoda Power, Doosan.
Small hydropower plant
Novák, Jan ; Pavlů, Jaroslav (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The basic aim of the Bachelor Thesis is the detailed description of the development and the currect state of hydraulic power plants in the Czech Republic. Moreover, there are mentioned other possibilities of the usage and suitable localities for the build-up or renewal. Furthermore, the work deals with a small hydraulic power plant in Letohrad. It describes hydrological conditions and the design of the existing hydro-electric plant. The thesis continues with the computational part which compares two versions of the mechanical and the technological solution. The first version takes into account the instalation of one turbine and the second one focuses on the placement of three turbines with the same parameters. After the interpretation it has been found that the hydroenergetical potential of flow is more efficient in the first alternative. In the conclusion, there are revenue calculations for produced energy and the recovery of investment.
Bypass steam turbine system
Molák, Filip ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with the bypass system of steam turbine, especially about its heating during normal operation and cold start up. At the beginning of work, a preliminary thermodynamic calculation of condensing steam turbine with two uncontrolled extractions is made. This is followed by theoretical description and design of bypass system and design of heating during normal operation and cold start-up. The main goal of thesis is optimalization of heating, when the heating branch is connected back to turbine supply line. In the end, all options of heating are compared in terms of power output.
Steam Turbine for Waste to Energy
Hodonský, Lukáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of the steam turbine for a waste incinerator. First, the concept and design of the machine is discussed. Following part is the steam turbine thermodynamics calculation, which is the main part of the thesis. My work also contains calculation of axial force and a simplified calculation of the gearbox. The design sections of individual modules and drawing of a disposition of a steam turbine are made on the based of the calculation.
Domestic electricity production from renewable sources
Halamíček, Milan ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The present bachelor thesis describes utilization of renewable resources, which can be used for production of electric energy. It presents three ways, one of them is wind power plant, the second is photovoltaic system and the last one is water power plant. There are suggested two ways of electric energy supply to family houses including economic evaluation.
Balancing turbines rotor
Peterka, Zdeněk ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is specialized search dealing with issues of balancing turbines rotors. The first part of this work is devoted to general problems of balancing turbines rotors and basics of balancing turbines rotors. In the second part of this thesis there is a documentation of balancing device so-called „shelter“. The third part already discussed about the very processes of balancing turbines rotors. In the last part there two examples of practical balancing turbines rotors.
Uehara cycle
Soška, Michal ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This Diploma thesis describes design of the computational model of Uehara power cycle, with ammonia-water mixture used as working fluid. First part is dedicated to issue of determination working mixture thermodynamic properties, which are essential for computational model design. The second part of this thesis describes the methodology of computing power cycle by system matrix solving method. For purposes of methodology testing, model of Kalina power cycle was also created. Computational models of Uehara and Kalina cycles are designed in Excel and are an integral part of this thesis. Text part also includes a description of their user interface, calculation algorithm and detailed description of the design methodology.
