The viewpoint of pupils with special education needs in support of teacher's assistant, in inclusive middle school

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the viewpoint of pupils with specific educational needs on the presence of a teacher's assistant in the process of teaching at the first level of primary school. Its goal is to find out what advantages pupils with specific educational needs see in the presence of a teaching assistant in the classroom, what supports a positive relationship between the teaching assistant and the pupil, and what are the differences between the views of intact pupils and pupils with specific educational needs. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the terms - inclusion, support measures for pupils with specific educational needs, and describes the history of inclusive education. It also focuses on the definition of the teaching assistant profession, its legislative anchoring, work content and competences. Furthermore, the theoretical part is focused on working with pupils with special needs and on the cooperation of the teaching assistant with other pedagogues, legal representatives, and pupils. The thesis focuses on the area of diagnostics in preschool children in kindergarten in the Hradec Králové region. The main aim of this thesis is to set up a pedagogical support plan, the first level of support measures according to the WELCOME IDEA application for premature children. Another aim is a practical demonstration of how to work with the pedagogical support plan according to the WELCOME IDEA application, analysing its possibilities and limits. Last but not least, the aim is to underline the need of diagnostics in preschool children as a tool for an appropriate pedagogical support plan, which is not only a means for teachers to create optimal learning opportunities for children. The thesis has two parts. In the theoretical part we meet the concepts of family and parenting, psychological needs of parents of premature children, ontogeny of the premature child, psychomotor, communication and socialization in preschool children. The diploma thesis is specially pedagogical and deals with the possibilities of applying functional behavioral assessment at kindergarten for children with communication disorder. The theoretical part describes the given issue of communication disorder and the development of the child's social-emotional skills. The theoretical part also describes the problem behavior and the concept of functional behavior assessment. The practical part deals with four case studies of preschool children with repetitive problem behavior. The purpose of the qualitative research is to verify the applying functional behavior assessment at kindergarten for children with communication disorder. The main research question of the diploma thesis is to find the possibilities of using the principles of functional behavioral assessment in the chosen kindergarten for children with communication disorder. Support Measures in the Education of Pupils with Special educational Needs

The diploma thesis covers the procedural aspects of the provision of support measures of levels II-V at primary schools in the Žďár nad Sázavou district. It also explores the practical aspects and the support that teachers receive from school counselling centres in order to apply the support measures in accordance with the issued recommendations. The three research questions are: How do the educators evaluate the support provided by school counselling centres? What are the perceived challenges and opportunities for improvement for the educators when working with the school counselling centres? What form of cooperation with the school counselling centres would be most helpful for the educators when implementing the support measures in school? The thesis is divided into two chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical background of the thesis. It defines the concepts of younger school age, support measures of levels II-V, pupils with special educational needs, school counselling centres and school counselling facilities. The bachelor's thesis entitled "Supporting the wellbeing of pupils with special educational needs at the lower secondary school" addresses the issue of wellbeing among students with special educational needs in the lower secondary stage of elementary schools, with a focus on social and emotional aspects. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of wellbeing, its factors, and its impact on overall quality of life. It further examines the classroom climate as an environment that influences students' wellbeing. The role of the class teacher in supporting the wellbeing of students with special educational needs is also described, with emphasis on the specificities of working with these students and supporting their individual needs. The thesis Influencing Challenging Behaviour of Pupils by Implementing PBIS in elementary schools aims to provide the reader with a theoretical summary of the link between wellbeing support and its impact on challenging behaviour, and at the same time to introduce evidence-based system the Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support (PBIS). The thesis research, which aims to find out the opinion of pupils and teachers on the introduction of PBIS and its impact on challenging behaviour, was conducted in cooperation with three elementary schools in the Czech Republic which use elements of PBIS in their teaching from 2020. Data for the research was collected using two hundred and eighty-eight questionnaires from second grade elementary school students and three interviews with representatives of the school PBIS teams. Data collection was conducted online, the survey was administered in February 2023, and the interviews were conducted in April 2023. The thesis research revealed that the impact of school-wide PBIS on challenging behavior is perceived by teachers, primarily in the ability to create a safe environment for students and provide positive behavior support that leads to minimizing challenging behavior. The diploma thesis deals with aspects of new challenging behaviour in pupils in a lower secondary education in a primary school in Říčany in time of pandemic of covid-19. The first part of the work includes basic theoretical points and concepts. The most common forms of challenging behavior that can be identified in primary schools are defined here. Furthermore, the most common factors influencing the rise of challenging behavior are listed here. The theoretical part also deals with the issue of psychological stress and the effect of distance learning on students during the covid-19 pandemic. This part of the work is also devoted to the importance of supporting wellbeing in the school environment and explains why it is important to deal with it. The thesis deals with stress and self-regulation of pupils in the school environment. The theoretical part deals with the general issue of stress, stressors, expression of stress, and the child's reactions to stress. It also defines self-regulation, relaxation techniques, specific support for pupils' self-regulation, and coping strategies.
