Dealing with Nazi architectural heritage in Munich between 1945 and 2015
Matoušek, Jan ; Filipová, Lucie (advisor) ; Emler, David (referee)
Bachelor thesis abstract This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of attitudes to the Nazi architectural heritage in Munich between 1945 and 2015. In Munich, which was described by Adolf Hitler as the Capital of the Movement and the Capital of German Art, Hitler built several representative buildings to serve Nazi propaganda and to demonstrate the magnitude of Hitler's regime in the Third Reich. This bachelor thesis examines specific examples of Munich's Nazi buildings - Königsplatz, Ehrentempel pantheons, Haus der (Deutschen) Kunst, Führerbau and Verwaltungsbau. After 1945, when Munich was occupied by the American army, it was necessary in the post-war denazification to take a stand on these Nazi buildings in the interest of the city's new democratic future. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the history of Munich's Nazi buildings and research post-war attitudes towards these specific Munich buildings burdened by the Nazi past in the so-called architectural denazification strategies since 1945, when World War II ended until April 2015, to the opening of the Munich Documentation Center for Nazism. Based on research into the history and post-war attitudes towards individual buildings, I came to the conclusion that all studied buildings in Munich had at least partial suppression of their Nazi...

Family policy of the Great Coalition in Germany (2005 - 2009)
Pištorová, Tereza ; Filipová, Lucie (advisor) ; Baštová, Petra (referee)
The Federal Republic of Germany is among the countries with the lowest birthrates in Europe; Germany's total fertility rate has fluctuated between 1.3 and 1.4 children per woman since the 1970s. Presented thesis "Family policy of the grand coalition in the FRG 2005- 2009" deals with measures taken by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, headed by Ursula von der Leyen, and their impact on the birthrate and other indicators such as the employment rate among mothers and the risk of poverty. In this period of time, the concept of family policy was changed towards the Scandinavian model, which supports Work-Life-Balance. The effects of the introduction of year-long income- dependent parental benefits, which are extended by two months when the parents alternate in care, are analyzed in this thesis. The second researched measure is the massive support of the expansion of child care opportunities for children under three years of age. The thesis shows that the total fertility rate has not shown any significant change; nevertheless, the decrease in specific fertility rate among highly educated women was halted and the employment rate among mothers increased. The effects will only be able to be complexly assessed after a longer period of time.
Espace of persecuted Jews from Vienna in 1942. Interpretative analysis of a diary.
Kordová, Magdalena ; Pešek, Jiří (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
Diploma thesis "Escape of persecuted Jews from Vienna in 1942. Interpretative analysis o f a diary" deals with an escape of a man and a woman across the Alps to Italy. The research aimed at studying two levels of the problem, the phenomenon of refuge as such, and a diary as an autobiographical resource, and provides its analysis. Considering the variety of the environments in which the escape happened, the author had to examine all possibilities to access the resources, and also the methods o f verification. Thus archive documents were used alongside with printed resources and artifacts. The diary is to be regarded as a resource, which first of all, records the event as such, and also as a document, which reflects the writer's experience. The commentary through interpretation presents not only the so far unknown route of an illegal passage of Austro-Italian border, but also discusses the relationship of the refugees, a man and a woman, in extreme conditions. Consequently it is shown that the term "emigration" is too complex and general to be used precisely, especially in case of an illegal escape. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
A Holistic analysis of polish return migration programs
Chlebek, Claudia Maria ; Vykoukal, Jiří (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
In this dissertation, the effectiveness of three Polish return migration programs will be analysed against a combination of return migration theories and economic channels. It will examine the motivations behind their conception, and the services, grants or initiatives implemented with the aim of addressing the needs of new and existing migrants, improving communication channels, and most importantly, developing the environment, means and incentives that will attract migrants to return to their homeland. Any failures to properly identify and address the needs, desires and aspirations of migrants with the structure of the return migration programs greatly delimit the success of the respective program through lesser participation and diminished societal impact.
