Mythical animals in the Early Modern educational literature

This bachelor thesis focuses on two mythological animals, specifically on unicorn and phoenix from antiquity to the early modern age. Firstly, in the first chapter I discuss used methodology and current state of research about all animals in general, including mythological ones. The second chapter introduces the unicorn in ancient and medieval sources where this mythical animal was born and developed. The third chapter forms the half of the main topic of the thesis, namely unicorn in the 16th and 17th centuries. The next chapter follows the codification of the phoenix in antiquity and the Middle Ages, where this mythical creature also had its origins. Chapter five forms the second half of the thesis, which looks at the mythical bird in 16th and 17th century scientific and travel writings, but also how the phoenix was depicted in fiction. The following chapter is a presentation of the phoenix in material sources from antiquity to the early modern period.

Specific educational needs of the visually handicap in the context of another professional education

The final thesis on the topic specific educational needs of visually impaired teachers as part of continuing professional education focuses on needs and opportunities related to education and lifelong education of visually impaired teachers in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the support, rehabilitation and use of assistive devices for this education. Furthermore, mapping companies and organizations supporting the visually impaired and offers examples of good practice. The practical part analyzes the possibilities of further professional education of visually impaired teachers, and seeks to identify the needs and currently offers this education into practice. Support of the beginning directors of kindergartens from 1990 to present

This diploma thesis provides information on the subject of supporting beginning kindergarten headmasters. It deals with the changes of this support from 1990 until the present. The objective of this diploma thesis is to find out the opinions of the headmasters of pre-primary education schools in Prague concerning the support provided by the state, school authority, middle management, the previous headmaster, other colleagues and educational institutions upon taking up their the post. The theoretical part introduces the basic terms connected with the headmaster's managerial functions and competences as well as with the historical development of the kindergarten headmaster's function in relation to the support received upon taking up their post. It points out the necessity of external support of headmasters during their career, especially in its beginning. The empirical part of the thesis is based on studying specialised literature and on survey results. It assesses the headmasters' experience at the beginning of their careers as headmasters. It evaluates the quality of assistance provided and points out the missing links of subvention. Management in preprimary education

For diploma thesis I chose the topic of management of educational institutions. The aim of the thesis is an analysis of managerial activities director nursery school focusing on personnel management. We focused on the issue of the relationship performs headmaster all managerial activities, what time frame they have to pay, how well it is able to fulfill. Individual chapters are based on the general theory of management, managerial functions, personnel, operations and human resources management. The practical part of the evaluation research. Method for obtaining data was used, primarily, time snapshot of all activities director kindergarten and secondarily, identification questionnaire. Based on the research model was created activities director kindergarten with basic timing in the form of a monthly interval. In the end we will find the time spent evaluating director of the kindergarten and recommendations, which should streamline the functioning of the school.

Factors Affecting Effective Teaching of Adults

This diploma thesis deals with various factors affecting effective teaching of adults from teacher's perspective. The aim of this work is to determinate discrepancy of attitude to this issue based on knowledge from literature and professional teacher's experience. First of all the thesis defines term (effective) teaching of adults and then presents its key aspects. Then it identifies the nature of teaching objectives, (andro)didactic principles and defines main characteristics and competencies of an effective teacher in this context. The thesis also describes impact of learning environment on effective teaching and characterizes (study) stress as well as its impact on effective teaching adults.
