The Identity of Truth-Bearers in the Late Scholasticism

The paper concerns the problem whether it is possible for one and the same proposition to change its truth-value. The author under consideration is Rodrigo de Arriaga, Prague-based theologian and philosopher of the seventeenth century. His nominalism precludes this possibility.

Regenerace kovového zinku z úletového prachu ZnO

ZnO fly dust arising during the zinc removal from galvanized low alooy sheets was investigated on a laboratory scale to obtain electrolytic zinc. The electrolysis was performed with refined zinc suplhate leach liquors and/or with untreated zinc caustic solutions. Effects of operational variables on Zn electrowinning have been studied for sulphate and caustic electrolytes in conventional and spouted bed electrochemical cells.

The comparison of large Czech banks' profits for the financial years 2008 - 2009

The bachelor thesis deals with an analysis of the income statement and its particular cost and income components. It compares three large Czech banks during last two years. The time period was chosen because a few problems connected with a financial life of those financial institutions appeared. The basic aim is to reveal fundamental impacts of the financial and the economic crisis on banks' profit and loss accounts. The comparison of crisis-stricken income statements is made as well as the effects of negative events and circumstances are examined. The thesis also focuses on changes in a structure and a volume of profits and expenses that has been caused by the world market turmoil and a slowdown of local economy.

Analysis of the impact of financial crisis

The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the new upcoming changes in regulation and supervision of financial systems and present author's own view of the success, effectiveness and necessity of these measures in the context of the recent economic crisis. It begins with the part, which contains a description of the factors that influenced the crisis the most and discusses the means of Central Banks to intervene effectively even before the emergence of the crisis from the perspective of regulation and supervision. The second part describes newly discussed and some already adopted changes and actions in the regulation and supervision of the financial system, particularly changes in bank capital, the removal of pro-cyclicality, accounting views and the liquidity risk management. In conclusion, the author presents his views on the direction of regulation and supervision, the effectiveness of the measures taken, their ability to prevent crises in the future and at what price did they achieve the objectives in focus.
