Minimum wage in economic context
Návrat, Martin ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Pikhart, Zdeněk (referee)
This thesis compares different theoretical principles concerning the relationship between minimum wages and unemployment. In the empirical part examines the impact of minimum wages on unemployment in the Czech Republic for the period 1994 - 2012. The results of the econometric analysis indicate that the minimum wage significantly affects unemployment. I conclude that a 1% increase in the real minimum wage compared to the previous year will result in approximately a 0.17% increase in the unemployment rate for workers with at most primary education compared to the previous year and approximately 0.07% increase in the unemployment rate of men compared to previous year. Based on the extension of the basic models is rejected that the minimum wage statistically negatively influenced overall unemployment, unemployment of women and unemployment of workers under 25 years.

Jandejsková, Klára ; Ježek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (referee)
This master's thesis is focused on the comparison of different systems of payment for health care in the Czech Republic. Insurance companies play an essential part in financing health care and they are also responsible for setting the rules for health care providers, who in turn modify the systems of financing health care that had been set out. This is the reason why the issues concerning insurance companies are discussed in both parts of this thesis, firstly the theoretical side and secondly the practical one. The theoretical part of this thesis discusses the structure of the czech healthcare system as a whole and then the payment systems set up for individual providers of health care are analysed in the following chapters. The practical part shows examples of how the payment system for health care works, what problems it encounters, what exactly is the role of insurance companies and how to deal with presented problems. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the types of payment systems for health care used in the Czech Republic and further focus on the specifics and details that are analysed along with their potential impact on the amount of the final payment.

The targets were evaluated using the targeting index and the success rate using the gross effect. Retraining courses in the Děčín district were aimed the least at minorities; on the other hand we can observe signs of the creaming off effect. Thanks to the gross effect it was observed that within 12 months after attending retraining courses, 50 % of candidates found a new job. Retraining courses as a tool are therefore effective. An indirect relationship was observed between the length of unemployment and the level of gross effect. A 3 year return of the retraining courses was observed at work. Minimum wage in economic context
Kratochvíl, Martin ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee)
The thesis analyzes how minimum wage influences unemployment in the Czech Republic. Firstly, the economic theory is researched and the conclusion is that the Czech labour market is very similar to a monopsony market due to the low mobility of the workforce and the low rate of immigration. Another result is that the level of wages in developed economies does not depend on the productivity of the workforce anymore, so minimum wage laws have psychological impacts rather than economical. The following part of this thesis is dedicated to the comparison of labour market indicators between european countries. The last chapter investigates the main hypothesis with a dataset from the Czech Republic between 1993-2014 using the econometric model. A 1% increase of real minimum wage resulted in a 0.01% increase in the general unemployment rate and a 0.1% increase of unemployment among the young population. But if the minimum wage will be raised during the times of real GDP growth, influence on unemployment will be eliminated.
