This diploma thesis discusses the possible influences that media especialy television has on langugage development in pre-school children. In first part we talk about speech development, speech difficulties, history of media, studies about influence of watching TV on the personality of the child. Practical part examines influence of watching TV on child and his speech.
Pupil with communication disorders in preparatory class

The bachelor thesis "Pupils with Communication Disorders in Preparatory Classes" analyses the issues of preparatory classes. It develops the competences of school readiness and preparedness. The thesis summarizes the speech development as a basis for the diagnosis of communication disorders. It declares the positive effects of preparatory classes on the development of communication skills of children with postponed school entry in the region of Prague 9. The thesis proves the need to include children with communication disorders into preparatory classes. It offers the possibility to the parents of children attending preparatory classes to express their opinions on the functioning of these classes. It informs parents of preschool children in the region of Prague-East about the existence of preparatory classes and it monitors the level of parents' awareness. A mixed-method research is applied in the study. It combines a quantitative method - a questionnaire - and qualitative methods - structured dialogues and case studies. In the conclusion of the thesis practical recommendations are offered: amendment of the Education Act and the implementation of school-readiness testing at the beginning and at the end of the school year. Evaluation of vocabulary knowledge in preschool children

Diplomová práce je složena ze dvou hlavních částí, části teoretické a části praktické. Část teoretická shrnuje poznatky o slově, slovní zásobě, jejím osvojování v předškolním věku, nastíněna je patologie slovní zásoby. Praktická část hodnotí úroveň slovní zásoby předškolních dětí před nástupem do první třídy základní školy. Nástrojem k tomu je sestavený test skládající se z deseti subtestů, založený pouze na slovní instrukci. Cílem této práce je zhodnotit slovní zásobu dětí předškolního věku po stránce kvantitativní i kvalitativní.
Contribution of Miloš Sovák to establishment and development of logopedic facilities till the year 1989

The topic of this bachelor thesis is "The contribution of Miloš Sovák to establishment and development of logopedic facilities till the year 1989". It targets on respectable personality of the special pedagogy of Prof. MUDr. et PhDr. Miloš Sovák, DrSc. (1905 - 1989) and on his achievements in the area of logopedics primarily. This thesis deals with introducing of Miloš Sovák as a personality, it describes his role in the special pedagogy but it is mainly concerned with logopedic care in Czechoslovakia and with contribution of Miloš Sovák to establishment and development of logopedic facilities. The thesis explains and illustrates us Sovák's progressive thoughts and actions, which have led to a development of logopedics. This thesis is based on exploration and comparison of Sovák's publications and his professional articles and it is furthermore based on sources of other significant participating personalities.
Child with Speech Disorders at Primary School as Viewed by Its Parents

THE ABSTRACT This thesis deals with the life of children with communicative disability during their education at primary school. It defines communicative disability, etiology, forms and treatment of speech disorders, and further characterizes three specific forms of communicative disability - developmental dysphasia, balbuties and tumultus sermonis. The thesis also presents the specifics of the developmental stage of younger school age, considering the development of children with communicative disability, and tries to clarify what are currently possible ways of educating children with speech disorders. At the same time it outlines the influence of the family environment on the child with communicative disability, its current possibilities and transformations. It uses information mainly from publications dealing with speech therapy and publications dealing with the development and education of children, primarily the children with speech disorders. Moreover it discovers how parents perceive their child with communicative disability in the context of education at primary schools. It examines what type of education parents chose for their child and what are the reasons, and also how the child feels in a class group or a group of peers according to his parents.
