Distribution and pattern morphology of pseudomorphs of thermal-conctraction-cracks features in Austria
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Margold, Martin (referee)
During the cold Pleistocene episodes, the territory of Austria was at the forefront of nearby Alpine glaciation. The unglaciated area of Austria was part of the Central European periglacial zone, in which permafrost developed. The distribution of Upper Pleistocene permafrost, its character, but also its time classification in the western part of the Pannonian Basin is still unclear. It is also because ideas about the characteristics of Upper Pleistocene permafrost in this area have so far been based mainly on indirect biological or lithological records such as pollen grains, malacofauna snails, or loess-paleosol sequences. Until now, the evidence of direct geo-indicators of paleo-permafrost has been relatively limited, with unique relict frost-wedges, cryoturbations, or sporadic remains of thermokarst lakes depressions and pingos. The results present a new database of relict frost-wedges in Austria, which was created based on published literary sources, but mainly based on aerial imaginary available on Google Earth Pro. The results significantly expand (by hundreds of localities) the existing knowledge about the occurrence of relict frost-wedges, which have so far been located in Austria purely on the basis of excavated profiles and soil probes. The found polygons of frost-wedge pseudomorphs are an...
Advanced Techniques of Risk Aggregation
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Justová, Iva (advisor) ; Pešta, Michal (referee)
In last few years Value-at-Risk (Var) is a very popular and frequently used risk measure. Risk measure VaR is used in most of the financial institutions. VaR is popular thanks to its simple interpretation and simple valuation. Valuation of VaR is a problem if we assume a few dependent risks. So VaR is estimated in a practice. In presented thesis we study theory of stochastic bounding. Using this theory we obtain bounds for VaR of sum a few dependent risks. In next part of presented thesis we show how we can generalize obtained bounds by theory of copulae. Then we show numerical algorithm, which we can use to evaluate bounds, when exact analytical evaluate isn't possible. In a final part of presented thesis we show our results on practical examples.
Morphology of thermal-contraction-crack features and their pattern
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Roman, Matěj (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with phenomenon of periglacial landscape of continuos permafrost such as thermal-conctraction-crack polygons and forms of their secondary infill - ice, sand, soil and composite-wedge pseudomorphs. Upper Pleistocene thermal-conctraction-crack polygons are located in mid-latitudes all across the Europe. Most common geometry shapes of these polygons are orthogonal and hexagonal patterns. Pseudomorphs are commonly situated in areas of lowlands, river terraces, floodplains on slopes with angle up to 4ř. Their distribution is closely associated with the maximum extent of past permafrost during the last glacial episode (~17-25 ka BP). This pleistocene phase is known as last periglacial maximum (LPM; Vandenberghe et al. 2014). Creation of ice-wedges is primarily bound to present continuous permafrost, which the southernmost Pleistocene limit in Europe has been established to 47ř N (Black 1976, Vandenberghe et al. 2014). However, some research suggest, that with favorable local conditions, ice-wedges can develop also in arid climate and discontinuous permafrost zone and they can occur together with sand-wedges (Kasse 1998). It was also found that cold arid climate is not the only factor for sand wedge development, but great importance has also local variability of microrelief such...

Email marketing strategy for educational portal
Pour, Lukas ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dufek, Jaroslav (referee)
Communication with the customer plays a crucial role in today's internet marketing. In case we do not communicate with the customer or we let his attention towards our product or service fade away, than the investment into gaining him has not been well used. Email marketing itself is a very good instrument for maintaining and building the relationship with the customer. However, a great number of entrepreneurs and companies does not know how to work with email marketing and they send email just the same way as they would invite their colleagues for a meeting or simply just scan a discount flier. The first part of the master thesis therefore focuses on the definition of email marketing itself and of the features by which emails affect the customers. It than presents the ways how to maintain the customer, how to pamper them by e.g. content marketing and it shows the current trends and possibilities of automatization. The second part of the master thesis than presents and uses email marketing not only as one of the very strong instruments of direct marketing but also as one of the ways to support online education, which has been gaining a lot of popularity both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The thesis shows the possibilities how to use email marketing to promote an education website that is being created concurrently with this thesis and how to teach its visitors. The practical part shows how to set up the path of the customer and the email marketing strategy in order to change the visitors of the website into loyal customers. All that with the highest possible automatization of the process.
CRM as a Cloud software service
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Jandoš, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Topinka, Ondřej (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with information systems for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and its combination with one of the main recent information technology trends -- Cloud Computing. CRM systems represent fundamental company software. Thanks to Cloud Computing ideas CRM is available now via communication networks as a service with all its relevant benefits and risks. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate CRM provided as a software service, to compare a traditional deployment of CRM as on-premise software with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), to identify its advantages and disadvantages and finally to offer answers and evaluation of the main Cloud CRM risks. The first part describes CRM background and Cloud Computing principles. The second part compares on-premise and SaaS deployments and evaluates its benefits and risks including a detail cost analysis. The last part deals with Cloud CRM integration possibilities and practical implementation experience including a case study. This thesis offers the answers to bridge the gap between the theoretical and the practical Cloud CRM experience as the main benefit.
Projection of future development of economically active population
Šimková, Martina ; Mazouch, Petr (advisor) ; Dufek, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the structure of the population of the Czech Republic in terms of education and economic activity and then draw out its future development. To this variations of the projection is included the development of economic activity in the population compared to the standard demographic projections. This approach allows better assessment of future development economically active parts of the population by its actual participation in the labor market, and not only by age group, as it is in most demographic projections. This work also includes analysis of sex-education-age structure of the population and analysis the reasons for economic inactivity.
OSS and Provisioning in Telecom practise.
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Šaršon, Jindřich (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with Telco specialized software and its specific software focusing on OSS (Operational Support Systems) and ordering. The introductory chapter describes IT background of an average telecommunications provider and offers complex view to the relations with BSS (Business Support System). The thesis also mentions integration of individual parts from provider's IT background to a whole and describes the usual methods to achieve this goal. The second part deals with the issue of standardization of Telco software and its history. It describes the establishment of Telemanagement Forum and its program NGOSS (New Generation Operations Systems and Software). Then, OSS functionalities are described by way of an example case study for an important Czech telecommunications corporation. The last part deals with telecommunications market in European Union and basic characteristics of telecommunications providers and their supplier companies. In conclusion, the analyzed problems are summarized and the importance of telecommunications software and telecommunications in general is explained.
