Distribution and pattern morphology of pseudomorphs of thermal-conctraction-cracks features in Austria
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Margold, Martin (referee)
During the cold Pleistocene episodes, the territory of Austria was at the forefront of nearby Alpine glaciation. The unglaciated area of Austria was part of the Central European periglacial zone, in which permafrost developed. The distribution of Upper Pleistocene permafrost, its character, but also its time classification in the western part of the Pannonian Basin is still unclear. It is also because ideas about the characteristics of Upper Pleistocene permafrost in this area have so far been based mainly on indirect biological or lithological records such as pollen grains, malacofauna snails, or loess-paleosol sequences. Until now, the evidence of direct geo-indicators of paleo-permafrost has been relatively limited, with unique relict frost-wedges, cryoturbations, or sporadic remains of thermokarst lakes depressions and pingos. The results present a new database of relict frost-wedges in Austria, which was created based on published literary sources, but mainly based on aerial imaginary available on Google Earth Pro. The results significantly expand (by hundreds of localities) the existing knowledge about the occurrence of relict frost-wedges, which have so far been located in Austria purely on the basis of excavated profiles and soil probes. The found polygons of frost-wedge pseudomorphs are an...
Advanced Techniques of Risk Aggregation
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Justová, Iva (advisor) ; Pešta, Michal (referee)
In last few years Value-at-Risk (Var) is a very popular and frequently used risk measure. Risk measure VaR is used in most of the financial institutions. VaR is popular thanks to its simple interpretation and simple valuation. Valuation of VaR is a problem if we assume a few dependent risks. So VaR is estimated in a practice. In presented thesis we study theory of stochastic bounding. Using this theory we obtain bounds for VaR of sum a few dependent risks. In next part of presented thesis we show how we can generalize obtained bounds by theory of copulae. Then we show numerical algorithm, which we can use to evaluate bounds, when exact analytical evaluate isn't possible. In a final part of presented thesis we show our results on practical examples.
Vyhodnocení reálné a nominální konvergence ČR a vybraných států k eurozóně
Dufek, Josef
The main objective is to assess the current situation of real and nominal conver-gence Czech Republic and selected countries of the euro area average. In assessing the real convergence of the work focuses on measuring the synchronization of business cycles and structural convergence. Measuring the synchronization of bussines cycles is done in the spirit of the modern concept of OCA theory. When assessing structural convergence is assessed similarities development of sectoral structures and the intensity of intra-industry trade. In nominal convergence are critical Maastricht convergence criteria and the development of the index CPL. While the analysis of convergence shows a high business cycle synchronization and the convergence trend in most countries and developments in the field of structural convergence points to ongoing differences in industrial specialization among the surveyed countries, which could lead to an increased risk of asymmetric shock in case membership in a monetary union.
Neolithic ovens. Czech ovens in contect of Neolithic Balkans
Pilař, Daniel ; Dufek, Josef (advisor) ; Popelka, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis analyses Neolithic ovens from the territory of Czech Republic. It is based on theoretical research of ovens from Linear Pottery culture (LnK), Stroke-ornamented Ware culture (StK) and Moravian Painted Ware culture (MMK) settlements. The most important site for research of Czech LnK ovens is settlement in Bylany, on which 46 ovens in pits were found. These ovens were continuously used for 500 years, which means that they enable us to observe the development of this phenomenon in time. For comparison with settlement in Bylany, I studied the Moravian site Mohelnice u Zábřeha. Different trend of placement of ovens in space within the area of settlement is observable there. In result, the analyses of construction and placement of ovens proved, that the type of ovens used in Mohelnice served probably as equipment for food processing. They were presumably used by community living in the house closest to the oven. Research of Late Neolithic (StK and MMK) ovens is complicated because of small number of finds the ovens located in pits. Complications are caused also by the state of research of Late Neolithic and by the ambiguity of settlements. The absence of pit ovens leads to idea of above ground domed ovens. However, this type of ovens is usually not preserved in central Europe, so the only...
Morphology of thermal-contraction-crack features and their pattern
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Roman, Matěj (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with phenomenon of periglacial landscape of continuos permafrost such as thermal-conctraction-crack polygons and forms of their secondary infill - ice, sand, soil and composite-wedge pseudomorphs. Upper Pleistocene thermal-conctraction-crack polygons are located in mid-latitudes all across the Europe. Most common geometry shapes of these polygons are orthogonal and hexagonal patterns. Pseudomorphs are commonly situated in areas of lowlands, river terraces, floodplains on slopes with angle up to 4ř. Their distribution is closely associated with the maximum extent of past permafrost during the last glacial episode (~17-25 ka BP). This pleistocene phase is known as last periglacial maximum (LPM; Vandenberghe et al. 2014). Creation of ice-wedges is primarily bound to present continuous permafrost, which the southernmost Pleistocene limit in Europe has been established to 47ř N (Black 1976, Vandenberghe et al. 2014). However, some research suggest, that with favorable local conditions, ice-wedges can develop also in arid climate and discontinuous permafrost zone and they can occur together with sand-wedges (Kasse 1998). It was also found that cold arid climate is not the only factor for sand wedge development, but great importance has also local variability of microrelief such...
The script writing´s methods about new religious movement charismatic leader
Miška, Jaroslav ; DUFEK, Jiří (advisor) ; VAJCHR, Marek (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the principles of finding a story from the environment of a new religious movement. He carefully analyzes the character of charismatic leader and the characters of his successors. The final result of this thesis, if possible, is going to raise awareness of new religious movements as part of the film's story. In addition, the work deals with the theme of apostate, the nature of the ritual, or the fight against an external enemy. Furthermore, he interprets the way of working with the community space and, last but not least, the process of denomination or, on the contrary, the demonization of the religious movement in the film work.
The motive of selfishness and the possibilities of its displaying in the film August: Osage County
Nováková, Tereza ; DUFEK, Jiří (advisor) ; KAJÁNKOVÁ, Lucia (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the searching of a motive of selfishness in an American film August: Osage County and the tools of displaying this motive in a film work. This thesis is not a film analyse although it could seems like it is. The thesis focuses on one concrete motive which is a main motive in the film. In this kind of focus the thesis analyses every single character, their motivations and the psychological profile of chosen ones In the first part, I introduce the chosen film, the author of the script and – shortly – the film plot as well. In the second part, I try to analyse the structure of the story based on the work by Linda Aronson, the part of food as a stage proprerty, character's sexual behaviour and their psychological disorders. In the third part, I compare the film adaptation to the original play, which was also written by Tracy Letts, the author of the film sript.
