The thesis deals with the design and production of a furniture prototype for a preschool locker room. The furniture is designed to meet safety requirements for toddler's furniture, hygiene and ergonomics requirements for children. The theoretical part includes a description of preschool age, ergonomics, requirements for toddler's interior and furniture, requirements for storage furniture and a description of materials. The practical part contains research compiled from photographs of various preschool facilities in the Czech Republic. It contains a description of the selected preschool facility, including the defined space of the dressing room. It also involves own designs, visualizations and final product photos.

The thesis aims to describe the media image of the czech fine art during 1948-1953 in the cultural periodicals "Kulturní politika", "Tvorba", "Var" and "Lidové noviny". It focuses on two topics that occurred most frequently in these periodicals;That is the definition of art and socialist realism and shaping artists and society. Social realism is characterized not only by description, but also by inspiration sources like Czech fine art of 19th century and the tendency to oppose competitive or similar artistic styles and trends like formalism, naturalism, academicism and kitsch. Shaping the artists and society is understood in terms of upringing, education and enlightenment. In connection with these two areas this thesis focuses on history, cultural policy of the Communist Party, the organizational structure of artistic production, distribution of art, shaping artists, penetration of art into public and private space, socialist realism and an attitude of visual artists to new conditions of artistic production. Different features were also included to capture the uniqueness of each periodical. The starting point of the thesis is a historical and qualitative analysis.

Kateřina Dušková Alcalá de Henares, 2008/2009 SYNTÉZA DERIVÁTŮ 2,2'-BIPYRIDINU A 1,10-FENANTROLINU OBSAHUJÍCÍCH MOLEKULY CUKRŮ ABSTRAKT Tato diplomová práce popisuje přípravu O-glykosidu a N-glykosidů s deriváty 1,10- fenantrolinu a 2,2'-bipyridinu, obsahujících molekuly monosacharidů ze série D-gluko, galakto a manopyranosa a L-fuco a ramnopyranosa. Syntéza glykosylaminů byla prováděna přímými reakcemi mezi monosacharidy a aminy za různých podmínek reakce s cílem optimalizovat proces v souladu s literárními zdroji. Dále pak zachycuje syntézu 5- hydroxymethyl-5'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridinu a následně pokus o přípravu O-glykosidu z alkoholu bipyridinu a monosacharidu s chráněnými -OH skupinami.
Regional and sub-regional organizations and peacekeeping in Africa

The thesis deals with evaluation of missions lead by regional and sub-regional organizations in Africa. The cases for the study are the ECOMICI mission in Ivory Coast lead by the ECOWAS and the AMIS mission lead by the AU. The regional peacekeeping operations developed mainly the during the 1990's. Peacekeeping is the dynamic field and the evaluation of outcomes is important for future missions. The evaluation framework used fot this study was designed by Diehl and Druckman and described in their book The evaluation of peace operations. The thesis is structured into the four main parts, In hte first part of the study there is an introduction into the field of peace operation, the regional organisations and their security frameworks and also the peacekeeping evaluation field. In the second part the analytic framework for the evaluation is described, the third part deals with the evalution of the two missions, ECOMICI and AMIS and last part is devoted to conclusions. By analysing these two operations we are able to conclude if the regional organisations are able to deploy peacekeeping missions, if they are successful and what are the main challenges and advantages for the regional peacekeeping. Regional and sub-regional organizations and peacekeeping in Africa

The thesis deals with evaluation of missions lead by regional and sub-regional organizations in Africa, compared with the UN mission. Work includes a brief summary of the status of regional organizations in the UN system, as well as security authorities of ECOWAS and the AU. Continues a brief summary of the evolution of peacekeeping according to the chronological approach of the United Nations. Shortly also deals with regional organizations and their documents relating to security. Briefly presents the evaluation framework of peacekeeping missions by Diehl and Druckman and basic questions and criteria imposed in almost all peacekeeping operations. The core work then consists of a brief presentation of the background of conflicts in selected missions, their mandate and the analysis of their success on the basis of the above evaluation framework. Mission success for comparison are ECOMICI, led by ECOWAS, AMIS, which was led by the African Union and MONUC, as the representative of the UN-led mission. Social care in conjunction with home care as public interest and basic pillar of elderly care in Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the security system care services and other related services, including informal care for seniors in the Czech Republic. The aim of the work is to evaluate, describe and offer a closer understanding of nursing as a basic social care service in connection with the principle of shared care in a natural home environment for seniors as the ideal form of care for the elderly at present and due to the demographic development in the future. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part covers three main topics: day care service system in the Czech Republic, seniors as a target group of caring and sharing and municipalities and their role in caring for the elderly. The practical part is devoted to the research, which focuses on the relationship of care services and communities from the perspective of potential service users, ie. the elderly. A combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods is used in the research and interprets the results of the survey conducted among the elderly in three senior clubs in Prague 17. The research complements the findings mentioned in the theoretical part.
