Thermodynamic and transport properties materiáls based on Bi2Se3
Janíček, Petr ; Sechovský, Vladimír (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee)
Single crystals of Bi2Se3 doped with Mn (cMn=0 - 3,0.1019 atoms/cm3) atoms were grown using a modified Bridgman method. Prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, reflectivity measurement in the plasma resonance frequency region, temperature and magnetic field dependences of the transport coefficients (electrical conductivity, Hall constant), by magnetization measurements (measurement of magnetization curves and temperature dependence of molar magnetic susceptibility) and by measurements of specific heat. The measuremens of above mentioned quantities revealed that the incorporation of Mn atoms to crystal structure leads to increase the free electrons concentration as well as mobility of free electrons. Valence of manganese atoms is according to the magnetic measurements Mn2+. These effects are explained on the point defect model, which is based on idea that the Mn impurity creates substitutional defects Mn'Bi and decreases concentration of antistructure defects Bi 'Se at the same time.
Synthesis of selectively disubstituted derivatives of alpha-cyclodextrin for chemosensoric applications
Magnetic anisotropies in (Ga,Mn)As and metallic multilayers with strong spin-orbit coupling
Zemen, Jan ; Jungwirth, Tomáš (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee) ; Šob, Mojmír (referee)
The thesis presents a numerical study of magnetocrystalline anisotropies in dilute ferromagnetic semiconductors and transition metal systems intended to advance the current understanding of the microscopic origins of this relativistic effect and to contribute to the development of spintronic devices with new functionalities. The major part of the work surveys magnetocrystalline anisotropies in (Ga,Mn)As epilayers and compares the calculations to available experimental data. Our model is based on an envelope function description of the valence band holes and a spin representation for their kinetic-exchange interaction with localised electrons on Mn2+ ions, treated in the mean-field approximation. For epilayers with growth induced lattice-matching strains we study in-plane to out-of-plane easy axis reorientations as a function of Mn local-moment concentration, hole concentration, and temperature. Next we focus on the competition of in-plane cubic and uniaxial anisotropies. We add an in-plane shear strain to the effective Hamiltonian in order to capture measured data in bare, unpatterned epilayers, and we provide microscopic justification for this approach. The model is then extended by an in-plane uniaxial strain and used to directly describe experiments with magnetisation direction controlled by...
Estimation of risk-neutral probability density functions from option prices
Krejčí, Kateřina ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with the estimation of risk-neutral probability density functions from option prices. It focuses on smoothing techniques that are applied to volatility smile. Theoretical part describes the estimation principle and presents some solutions for problems that occur while estimating the risk-neutral distribution. The findings from the theoretical part are used in the practical part and applied to real data. An analysis of the influence of the selection of particular smoothing function on the final distribution is performed. At the end of the thesis a stability test of estimations is performed and the analysis of dynamics of risk neutral distribution is shown on a small data sample.
Valuation of Tesla share
Adášek, Jan ; Veselá, Jitka (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee)
In my bachelor thesis, I worked on an analysis of Tesla Inc. (TSLA). The output was to decide whether the stock is undervalued, overvalued or at the level of its intrinsic value. In order to fulfill this objective and provide an investment recommendation I performed analysis from three perspectives. Global macro analysis was focused on the influence of macroeconomic variable on the stock and US capital market. Sector analysis was run deeply into market structure of electric vehicles to evaluate its potential in the future. Finally, fundamental analysis on the corporate level was done using Free-Cash-Flow-to-Firm method. Last, but not least I performed valuation using historical models in order to confirm my conclusion.
Market Making as a trading strategy
Bartík, Jan ; Stádník, Bohumil (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the market-making strategy's profitability analysis, tested on simulation of central order book. The theoretical part describes how the market maker quotes the price of supply and demand and mathematically proves under which circumstances this strategy is profitable. The practical part introduces a simulation of the central order book. The advantage of simulating the entire order book is that we have information about the number of market participants and quotes at any given time. It also introduces a fictitious market maker quoting the price of supply and demand at any given moment, the price being determined by the price of the previous time step. The order book is simulated in three different settings - random walk, mean-reversion and leptokurtic distribution, and it is shown that the expected profitability of the market-maker strategy is positive in all three cases.
Financial analysis of UniCredit Bank, Inc.
Žďárský, David ; Radová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee)
The diploma thesis aims on financial analysis of the company UniCredit Bank, Inc. in period of year 2012 to 2015 focusing mainly on comparison of its finacial results with previously selected groups of banks. Firstly, the principle of financial analysis and its purpose is stated with particular financial indicators being described. Secondly, basic information about the UniCredit Bank Inc. are given combined with analysis of banking industry as a whole throughout the period. The third main part provides the individual financial analysis of UniCredit Bank Inc. that is compared with statistical data of banking industry and the group of big banks. The results are graphically processed with use of Spider chart for each year of the period. Lastly, the final overview of financial results of UniCredit Bank in context of chosen sectors´ data is summarized.
Analysis of consumer credit in the Czech Republic
Šlapáková, Zuzana ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the development of the consumer credit market in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is dedicated to characteristics of consumer credit, its anchoring in the Czech legislation, its types, subjects in the consumer credit market and the credit approval process. The second part analyses the statistical data, shows the development of the consumer credit market and the development of the indebtedness of Czech households. The end of thesis contains an estimate of probable future development of this part of market.
Analysis of Česká spořitelna revenues within Erste Group
Hanus, Lukáš ; Radová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Diviš, Martin (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses primarily on the analysis of revenue development of Česká spořitelna. Then it examines whether this revenue development affected the parent company Erste Group. The introductory section defines the main revenue categories. Within these categories the main factors that influenced their development within Česká spořitelna are analyzed. Consequently, the development and main factors affecting these categories are compared with the development of the Erste Group. The thesis captures the development of revenues between 2012 and 2016.
