Amphetamines (especially methamphetamine) belong among the most used hard drugs in the Czech Republic. Amphetamines and their structurally similar substances synthetic cathinones are psychostimulants and have a stimulating effect on the central nervous system. They increase the level of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin at the synapses through their reduced reuptake. Drug use during pregnancy does not harm only the mother, but also the fetus and can lead to abnormalities that may occur malformations of fetal organs, delayed fetal development, low birth weight of the newborn, premature birth, or risk of hypoxia. There is also a risk that a newborn will have neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). Prenatal drug exposure not only risks complications during pregnancy and childbirth, but also later consequences. The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of homelessness. The aim of the thesis is to map the current situation and identify the causes of homelessness in České Budějovice. This topic is examined from the perspective of the homeless and the organizations dedicated to this issue in the city. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into two sections. The first section outlines the genesis of homelessness from its first occurrence to the current state in the present day world. The second section of the theoretical part focuses on a general description of homelessness and the services involved in addressing this problem. A qualitative approach was chosen for the research section, and data was obtained through a semi-structured interview technique with social workers from 5 helping organizations and a total of 6 homeless individuals. The research results closely mapped the current situation and causes of homelessness in České Budějovice. The study provides a comprehensive view of the issue of homelessness and allows for an understanding of how organizations perceive this phenomenon and how they improve the quality of life for these individuals. This bachelor thesis can improve awareness of this issue and support discussions on potential solutions. Analyzing this social problem can help workers in institutions and organizations better understand this situation and improve their professional strategies. Additionally, it can provide information on the needs and experiences of homeless individuals and help them improve their situation. This thesis can also be useful for further research and studies in this field.
Onomatopoeic Words in the Present-day French - a Contrastive Corpus Study

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to define the concept of onomatopoeic word in the context of its phonological, morphological, syntactic and semantic specifics. Subsequently, the author will briefly discuss topics related to the onomatopoeia - the question of the linguistic sign, the principle of arbitrariness and motivation, interjections, sound symbolism and ideophones. The findings and hypotheses from the theoretical part of the thesis will be verified in the practical part through the analysis of specific Czech and French onomatopoeic expressions.
Caring for a pregnant woman with gestational diabetes mellitus

This bachelor thesis deals with gestational diabetes mellitus and the care that is provided to women suffering from this disease. The work consists of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part of the work, the terms physiological and high-risk pregnancy are defined in the introduction. After explaining the concept of diates mellitus and analyzing its nature, the work focuses on gestational diabetes mellitus and its characteristics. Its etiology, possible complications, effect on the fetus, methods of examination and treatment are described. The last part focuses on the care of midwives, this part of the theoretical part of the work points to the possibilities and areas of education of pregnant women who suffer from gestational diabetes mellitus. The practical part was created with the help of a qualitative research survey. Two goals were set for the bachelor thesis. The first aim of the work was to find out what role a midwife plays in the care of women with gestational diabetes and the second to find out what knowledge pregnant women with this disease have. There are three research questions related to the objectives: "What role does a midwife play in caring for a woman with gestational diabetes?", "What knowledge do pregnant women lack about GDM?" And "What knowledge do pregnant women have about GDM?". To achieve the goals, the methodology of qualitative research was chosen in the form of semi-structured in-depth interviews. Two research groups were set up, consisting of pregnant women with personal experience of the disease and midwives caring for these women. The research itself took place during the months of March and April 2022 in the form of a personal meeting at home or in a prenatal clinic. After analyzing the obtained data, the results of the research survey were derived, which were processed into categories and subcategories. Research has found that midwives provide a wide range of education in their care for women diagnosed with GDM in addition to glycemic control, diabetes counseling, and oGTT. They most often educate about diet, diet and the principles of self-monitoring. Pregnant women often had only an awareness of the disease before their diagnosis and lacked the most information about the correctness of the diet.

This bachelor thesis analyses two writings by the Austrian writer Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, namely Child of the Neighbourhood and The Excellent Pupil, with an emphasis on the childhood and maturation of the main characters. With this focus in mind, the thesis examines their behaviour and ability to manage complex social situations. Searching of the lost ego in the work of Tunisian writer Albert Memmi

Dans mon mémoire La recherche du moi perdu dans l'oeuvre de l'écrivain tunisien Albert Memmi je me consacre à l'analyse des trois romans - La statue de sel, Agar et Le Scorpion de l'écrivain tunisien contemporain Albert Memmi. La recherche du moi perdu des héros de Memmi présente le thème principal unissant ses oeuvres. C'est pourquoi j'a i choisi comme but de mon mémoire analyser l'aliénation dans le cadre du Maghreb dans ces trois romans du point de vue ethnique, culturel, traditionnel, religieux et linguistique. Je procède au problème de l'aliénation par l'intermédiaire du héros principal Alexandre Mordekhaï Benillouche qui apparaît dans ces trois romans. Il vit entouré de d'autres personnages dont chacun représente un niveau social différent. J'examine comment les héros se réconcilient avec leur milieu social et quelles sont leurs réactions aux éléments de la culture européenne rapportés par le colonisateur. Les sentiments de l'aliénation et du déracinement sont les résultats de la colonisation. Son influence sur la vie des héros du Memmi devient l 'objet de mon analyse. J'ai divisé mon mémoire en sept chapitres principaux dont chacun traite de l'aliénation d'un point de vue différent et petit à petit le lecteur pénètre dans la culture et l'histoire du Maghreb qui ont fortement influencé la littérature...
Potential of Inbound Tourism of Australians to the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis discusses inbound tourism of Australians to the Czech Republic and weighs its future potential. The theoretical part contains a situation analysis with a brief characterization of inbound tourism of the Czech Republic, marketing activities of the Czech Republic as a tourist destination and a thorough socioeconomic characterization of Australia and its outbound tourism. Furthermore, this paper evaluates what the Czech tourist destinations have to offer to the Australian market. The practical part covers the outcome of the primary survey of Australians´ travelling consumer behaviour and their perception of the Czech Republic.
EU energy policy from lobbying perspective

The diploma thesis aims to contribute to the clarification of the process of shaping new EU climate and energy policy and to describe European lobbying groups entering in the 2030 Climate and Energy Framework policy-making process. The thesis aims to assess influence and participation of selected lobbying groups in this policy-making process. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the theoretical aspects of energy policy, further it provides the definition of basic terms and description of the EU legislative process in terms of lobbying. The second chapter explains energy policy in the context of fight against climate change and defines this issue at international and European level. The last chapter of the thesis deals with the current policy-making process of the 2030 policy framework for climate and energy and specifically focuses on lobbying activities and the intensity of lobbying impact of selected political, governmental and social actors according to the classification of interest groups by Howlett and Ramesh.
