Hierarchical Modeling of Planning Problems
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Barták, Roman (advisor) ; Plátek, Martin (referee)
Automated planning is a task to find a sequence of actions leading from an initial state to a desired goal state. There is a lot of formal models for planning problems modeling. The class of hierarchical formal models is one of them. In this thesis we will propose a hierarchical model, called GramPlan, based on attribute grammars. We will present some methods to reduce classical STRIPS formalism to GramPlan and we will prove the correctness of this reduction. Also we will present reduction of the FlowOpt workflow model to GramPlan and we will prove it's correctness. We will desing a couple of verification methods for attribute grammars and we will show these methods are equivalent. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Gilbert Simondon and his influence on current media thinking
Maha, Jiří ; Dvořák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Šlerka, Josef (referee)
Keywords Gilbert Simondon, Bernard Stiegler, Mark B. N. Hansen, philosophy, media, technology, humanism, individuation, information Abstract This text has two parallel objectives. First, to introduce the original work of french philosopher Gilbert Simondon. Second, to show its potential of his philosophy in relation to our thinking about the current media-techno- logically conditioned environment in which we live and through which we understand the world. I have two motivations for the first objective. First, the work of Gilbert Simondon is still completely unknown in Czech Repub- lic, therefore I find it necessary to offer to the reader the introduction of his work. Second, without such introduction it would be very difficult to ope- rate with his crucial concepts in the work of his contemporary interpreters whose contributions I will discuss in the second part of the text. The se- cond objective is motivated with my interest in delimitation of speculative and materialistic line of thinking based on the work of Gilbert Simondon. Such thought with its description of the world is in clear opposition with anthropocentrism. Nevertheless, it cannot be considered as a part of object oriented ontology neither. I'm not going to show the importance of Gilbert Simondon for media theory in this text. Rather, I will...

Ďuríčková, Monika ; Dvořák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Nečas, Vlastimil (referee)
The diploma thesis titled Transformation of Journalistic Practices Relating to Advent of Data Journalism concerns the current situation in Czech data journalism and its devel- opment. It examines how the newsroom, the journalists and the readers cope with new technology, big data and the related advent of data journalism. The theoretical part of the text explains the relationship between classical journalism and data-driven journal- ism and compares the so-called "narrative" and "interactive" approaches as forms of data-driven journalism. Further it gives a deeper understanding of the relation between data journalism and the new concept of objectivity and it deals with the cultural, social and technical preconditions of data journalism. The thesis also describes the historical aspects of the topic comparing computer-assisted reporting to current practice. Sub- sequent chapters deal with the visualizations, infographics, amateur data journalism and open data which all play a key role in data-driven journalism. The practical part intro- duces the Czech data team. It was originally established within the publishing house Economia and then moved to the office of Czech Radio (Český rozhlas). The final parts discuss the cooperation model of the Czech data team, the use of visualization in their projects,...
General duties of directors, in particular duty of loyalty
Mancelová, Silvia ; Štenglová, Ivanka (advisor) ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee) ; Josková, Lucie (referee)
The dissertation is focused on research of the general duties of members of the board of directors in a capital company, in particular the duty of loyalty. Besides the duty of loyalty, members of the board of directors have a duty to act with due managerial care. The doctrine paid attention to the specification of the duty to act with due managerial care but there has, as yet, been no attention paid to the duty of loyalty. The new legislation contained in the Civil Code Act n. 89/2012 Sb. (CC) subordinates the duty of loyalty under the duty to act with due managerial care. The subject of the dissertation is research of the nature, origin, and function, of the duty of loyalty. The conclusion of the dissertation is the confirmation of the hypothesis, that the duty of loyalty by which a member of the board of directors is bound, is a fiduciary duty and an independent duty, which is not a part of the duty to act with due managerial care.
Czech and French Law of Corporate Groups
Ditrych, Tomáš ; Černá, Stanislava (advisor) ; Josková, Lucie (referee) ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee)
Dissertation thesis called "Czech and French Law of Corporate Groups" analyzes French law of corporate groups and judicial decisions of the French courts, the so called Rozenblum concept - a set of conditions fulfillment of which might lead to exoneration of the company's directors acting in detriment of the company if such act is beneficiary to the group as a whole. The dissertation then analyzes relevant provisions of the new Czech business companies and cooperatives bill, partly inspired by the French law and by the Rozenblum concept. Under the conditions given by the Czech bill, dominant company shall not be obliged to compensate damages caused to the dominated company if such damages were caused to the benefit of the group as a whole and were or will be counterbalanced within the group. Moreover, the dissertation thesis at hand analyzes other provisions of the new Czech bill, assesses them and compares them with the provisions of the French law.
Review of the phylogenetic hypotheses of Cobitoidea
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Ráb, Petr (advisor) ; Musilová, Zuzana (referee)
Phylogenetics is a field of systematic biology which aims to uncover the evolutionary relations betweenll species on the principle of finding their common ancestor. Phylogeny can be applied on many diferent markers, but among the most common are genetic and morphological ones. The results of the phylogenetic analyses can be applied in many other fields of research. We can use them e.g. in answering questions concerning geological events (when using fishes as model, most often in some river flow changes). Cobitoidea is a superfamily of fishes, which belongs to cypriniformes - the biggest group of primary freshwater fishes. Cobitoidea contain 10 families - Gyrinocheilidae, Cobitidae, Balitoridae, Botiidae, Vaillantellidae, Ellopostomatidae, Barbuccidae, Serpenticobitidae, Nemacheilidae, Gastromyzontidae, and the Catostomidae might be considered as belonging into Cobitoidea as 11th family. The distribution area of Cobitoidea covers almoust whole Europe and Asia and that of Catostomidae also North America. There is no major river system in whole Eurasia that would not be inhabited by loaches. Every major river basin contains one to tens of loach species, therefore loaches can be considered one of the most characteristic element of the Eurasian freshwater fauna. In Cobitoidea, we can also find many...
Semiospace of self in discourse of webpage suicidegirls.com and facebook community suicide girls czech
Vávra, Jan ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee)
The erotic website SuicideGirls.com can be viewed in the context of striptease culture. The term was coined by the sociologist Brian McNair in 2002 in order to describe the tendency to openly theme the human sexuality within media content. Simultaneously with the metaphorical and literal exposing, the intimacy is being constructed within the discourse as an expression of true self and, as Feona Attwood develops McNair's claims speaking about sexualization of culture, the representation becomes the selfrepresentation. The SuicideGirls present themselves especially on soft-pornographic photographs through a significant alternative stylization, mostly tattoos and piercing. While for example Megan Jean Harlow (2009), a feminist critique representative, considers the style-creating elements of tattoo as an expression of distinctive practices, according to Shoshana Magnet (2007) the soft-pornographic mode of representation reduces the distinctiveness of SuicideGirls to a certain form of standard pornography. The semiotic and psychoanalytical interpretation of SuicideGirls.com focuses on softpornographic symbolic of the distinctiveness perceived by the community. Jacques Lacan's mirror stage concept explains the principles of subject's identification with his or her specular image. It is also important to...
Mythological and semiotic niveau of the chosen posters of the Third reich
Fulková, Andrea ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis deals with the poster of the Nazi Third Reich and the ideology shaped by the images and text communication, which it presents. The work looks at the poster as an important medium of communication that served Nazi propaganda to spread National Socialist ideology. This thesis aims to analyse these myths and debunk them in the way how Roland Barthes defines them in his book Mythologies. The author of the diploma thesis applies the traditional method of qualitative research of the media content - mythological and semiotic analysis - to demystify the myths and semiotic characters used in the selected Nazi posters. The first part of the thesis contains terminology, the second part presents the analysis of the individual posters, which are divided into several groups. In the conclusion of the thesis, the author presents a list of common symbols and myths, which are the result of the analysis.
