Widewhood phenomenon of old women

Dissertation is focused on widowhood of old women living in Czech Republic. The work shows specifics of old age especially flexibility to changes, quality and life meaningfulness in old age, covers marriage in old age and describes dealing with losses of partner in old age. It presents theme of dealing with losses in old age, describes processes and kinds of grief, mourning, rites and consultancy for the bereaved. Special attention is paid to handicapped old women status and risks related to it which could jeopardize them. Dissertation also delimits the term of widowhood and focuses on its specifics. Attention is paid to the other reasons of loneliness which are not related to widowhood. Theoretical chapters are supplemented with information from six detailed conversations with widows and also presents the author's own experience which she obtained from practice in retirement homes and from her presence in the voluntary organization "Kavárnička dříve narozených".
Importance of individual planning and its influence on activation in homes for elderly people

The thesis called 'Individual planning and its effect on activation in retirement homes' is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part discusses the old age and the changes and problems that can accompany it. Further it deals with senior people's needs and the basic principles of communication with elderly people. The second chapter focuses on retirement homes as a social service. The third chapter describes the importance and the process of individual planning. The last chapter of the theoretical part contains information about activating people in retirement homes, its possibilities and importance. The practical part shows the use of individual plans and biographical sheets of retirement homes' clients in practice. It contains case histories of senior citizens and examples of documentation. The aim of the work is to link the theory with practical findings, to describe the importance of individual planning and its connection to all the elements of care, and to describe the positive effects of activation and individual approach in working with elderly people. Host care in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis is focused on host care in the Czech Republic. The first chapter deals with attachment and its explanation. The second chapter describes alternative care in the Czech Republic. The list of alternative care forms and types of institutional care are included in this part. The third chapter is focused on host care and its legislative framework, forms, advantages, risks and the process of host care mediation. In the fourth chapter there are introduced specific examples of host care. The fifth chapter describes the survey methodology focused on host care. The sixth chapter contains thequestionnaire survey assessment. To define the issue, the author uses specialized literature aimed at substitutional family care and host care, Czech laws (i.e. Social-legal protection of the children law, Civil code, the law of institutional care accomplishment). She also derives from websites occupied by host care, such as civic association Děti patří domů, The Centre for Adoption and Foster Care. The aim is to verify theoretical facts followed from specialized sources and the description of host care in the Czech Republic.
The Impact of Addiction and Addictive Behavior of Adults on Children and Adolescents

This dissertation called "Influence of adult addictions and addictive behavior on children and adolescents" is divided into two parts: theoretical one and a practical one. In the theoretical part, there will be defined the addiction and the addictive behavior, after they will be put into the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. Then we will analyse concrete psychoactive substances that causes the addiction, types of addictive behavior, factors that encourage genesis of addiction and addictive behavior, influence of addictions and addictive behavior on children and adolescents. The last chapter of theoretical part occupies with possibilities of therapy of addiction and addictive behavior. The practical part proceeds from anonymous questionnaire survey that took place at an elementary school and at a high school. In the end there is a discussion about influence of adult addictions and addictive behavior on children and adolescents.
Phenomenon of longevity

Thesis entitled Phenomenon of longevity aims to describe and define very actual today Thema longevity. There is also mentioned particularly contemporary view of the phenomenon and its historical development. This work also touches demographics and life expectancy, which is closely linked to longevity. Great attention is paid to the problem spots in the lives of very old people, especially their disadvantaged status. On this chapter is followed also the care and support of life, that is in such high age necessary. Part of the work are also two research projects that enable an insight into the past lives of long-lived seniors in their health and functional status, and especially trying to uncover the causes of longevity.
Witch cults and alternative treatment methods in equatorial Africa

Thesis topic "Witch cults and alternative treatment methods in equatorial Africa" deals with the problems of shamanism and treatment methods in Africa, mainly in the equatorial area. Introduces witchcraft and compares it to shamanism, healing and other methods of the African aboriginal tribes and specific healing methods which are practised by shamans, medicine men and healers. At the same time it compares these methods to the quality of the medical services which are available in the given area. Practical part shows research solutions analysing the relations of the citizens from an Ugandan village Nyakyera and surrounding areas to healthcare and their attitude towards the shaman healers.
The quality of life in oncology patients

ANOTATION Bc. Michaela Petráková, The quality of life in oncology patients. Hussite Faculty of Theology, Charles University, Prague. The dissertation topic is based on quality of life in oncology patients. Various factors of quality of life in general and particularly in oncology patients, issues of neoplastic diseases, branch of oncology, dialogue with patients, and palliative care as well are described in the theoretical part of thesis. The practical part of thesis deals with a level of patients' educaction, initial perception of their disease, subsequent course and more, changes in personal, family, social and professional life in connection with oncology disease and the treatment process. Corresponding research was performed among the patients in Na Pleši hospital, s.r.o. Obtained results has revealed the oncology disease decisively influenced an impact on life as well as on quality of life in diseased humans. There is a considerably hard for patients to cope with such a state of the life. Patients' families and friends play a significant role in oncology patients and they both have an important influence on the particular course of disease. Possibilities of Psychosocial Support for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The first part of the thesis summarizes theoretical knowledge of the areas that relate to the characteristics of pervasive developmental disorders, as well as chapter focused on family and compensatory mechanisms with the diagnosis and the adoption of a child. Next chapter describe helping professions and it is a brief introduction of specific professions with who I have the opportunity to meet and get to know that their work and the methods used with a target group of preschool children with ASD. I consider the importance of an early intervention in terms of working with the family and the child to be important, therefore, I focus on diagnostic methods and organization APLA Prague and Central Bohemia. I had the opportunity to attend several practices in this organization and I got to know methods of working with clients with autism. Overall, this practice must be assessed as very beneficial. System and work of the organization is actually a good example for practice. I will try to describe this organization in the form of case studies and interviews with families. I then will focus on the social support of families and the financial opportunities that are offered to these families.
