CFD simulation of fluid-induced vibration
Kubíček, Radek ; Vondál, Jiří (referee) ; Buzík, Jiří (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis focuses on flow-induced vibrations of a tube. The main aim and benefit is the analysis of tube stiffness in contact with the other one and the following use of obtained values and characteristics in CFD simulations. The work can be divided into three parts. The first part is about the current state of knowledge of flow-induced vibrations. It introduces the basic mechanisms of vibration and methods for their suppression. The second part deals with the determination of stiffness of defined geometry tube including the collision with the other tube. The final part demonstrates and evaluates the application of obtained characteristics in CFD simulations.
Strength design of pipe
Jahodová, Miroslava ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Horsák, Libor (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is strength design of pipe connecting furnace of continuous catalytic reforming with reactor. First is realize analytical design of individual parts according to ASME VIII, ČSN EN 12952-3 a ČSN EN 13480-3. It is also design and optimize supporting pipe using Caesar II. At the end of work is creating isometric documentation.
Development of structural analysis software
Michálková, Anežka ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Létal, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a development of software for strength analysis of truss and beam elements using the Finite Element Method. Firstly, this thesis introduces basic theory of this method which is necessary for development of the software. Next part of the thesis discusses the software itself. Essential feature of development of the software was to transform mathematical theory to uncomplicated algorithms which are explained in the thesis. Last part is dedicated to comparison of the strength analysis results gained from the developed software and from ANSYS Workbench.
Design of storage tank
Sedmidubský, Petr ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Klučka, Ivan (advisor)
The master thesis deals with design of storage tank for nitric acid. The first chapter introduces the problems of design, manufacture and operation of the storage tanks. The next section describes design calculation of storage tank according to standard EN 14015. Control of design calculation is performed by analysis FEM in program ANSYS Workbench 16.2. Thesis also includes basic drawing of storage tank.
Design of column
Marko, Libor ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Nováček, Filip (advisor)
The thesis contains information about the design of pressure vessels and describes their individual parts. It is mentioned production of individual parts and the process including assembly parts in one unit. The thesis includes options of control and testing of pressure vessels. It is described kinds of built-ins of distillation column and the basic principles and types of distillation. It is created stress analysis of pressure vessels parts according to ČSN EN 13 445 – 3, and also stress analysis of the selected part of column by using FEM. Mechanical drawing of distillation column is part of the thesis.
Atomization mechanisms of liquid fuels
Buzík, Jiří ; Bělohradský, Petr (referee) ; Broukal, Jakub (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the atomization of liquid fuels and their atomizers and mechanisms which are concerned in atomization. The main purpose of this thesis is to describe the problems that are connected with the atomization. The author gives information about the primary and secondary decomposition of liquid. One part of the thesis is the software which focuses on the statistic evaluation and comparison of information which are performed by available experiments and numeric calculations.
Structural design of heat exchanger pair
Pernica, Marek ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Naď, Martin (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with structural design of twin heat exchanger with vertically stacked horizontal vessels according to CSN EN 13 445 standard. Brief introduction and basic characteristics of shell and tube heat exchangers is performed in the beginning part of the thesis. Design of the heat exchanger was initially performed using design by formula (DBF), which was verified by specialized software Sant´Ambrogio. Since this approach does not include methods for assessment of the nonstandard connection between the vessels, simulations of significant load states were performed using FEM analyses followed by result evaluation using stress categories.
Design of vertical heat exchanger
Vosynková, Jana ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Nováček, Filip (advisor)
Diploma thesis describes the design of a vertical heat exchanger in accordance with European standard ČSN EN 13 445-3 Unfired pressure vessels - Part 3: Design (in Czech). The first part contains the distribution of heat exchangers including an overview of the most commonly used media. The main part is aimed on the strength assessment of the heat exchanger based on the mentioned standard. The assessment equations are converted into an interactive document in Mathcad program. This allows quick evaluation of the new input parameters or easy implementation of the new parts of assessment. Checking the analytical evaluation is performed by numerical simulation in Ansys Workbench software with post-processing results according to given standard (stress categorization). The output is also the heat exchanger design documentation.
Mill stress calculation for coal crushing
Ševčík, Vlastimil ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Nekvasil, Richard (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with construction concept, execution and final evaluation of the stress-strain analysis of the main parts of the coal crushing fan mill. The main thesis part describes the general issue and different types of coal crushing fan mill. Construction part of the thesis is focused on optimal design evaluation and strength analysis of spiral body case as well as fan mill beater wheel.
Checking of heat exchanger to flow-induced vibration
Mazura, František ; Pernica, Marek (referee) ; Buzík, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the thermal-hydraulic design of the heat exchanger and flow induced vibrations checking. The introductory part describes the basic distribution and function of heat exchangers. The next part introduces the thermal-hydraulic design in the Python programming language using the Kern‘s method for an U-tube heat exchanger. Thermal-hydraulic design outputs are compared with values from HTRI software. Subsequently, the issue of the flow induced vibrations is characterized and the checking of these vibrations according to the normalized TEMA standard is performed. Finally, the heat exchanger is checked using the Poddar & Polley graphical method.
